I enjoyed your video, one of the best. I put a 100cc BBK on a 50cc scooter last week ... the math says it's now 81.3cc ... that's still 62.6% more displacement !. I'm old and I don't need more top end speed, what I need is to not block traffic pulling away at the stop lights and hitting the 35 mph speed limit on streets where that is the speed limit in a reasonable distance and amount of time. I was shooting for enough torque to be able to do this. I'm still tuning and from the smell of things a new belt will be needed soon. Yeah, I'm an old fart but having fun with the scooters. I was young once and it was all about how fast you could make things go, now days it's about just getting there and back and in one piece. I first heard this over 50 years ago..."speed costs money, how fast do you want to go?" Someone ought to use the G force calculator on a smart phone to show the difference in "pulling power" of 50cc vs 81.3cc. Now guys these little scooters are what they are, a basic mode of transportation for billions of people, hot rod them and.... oh forget it you won't listen any better than I did years ago.

Wow, what a speed difference! I have the exact same kind of moped but mine is light blue. I definitely want to upgrade the power on mine! So far my moped was manufactured as 49.3cc and was already destricted. I can go about 40 mph on flat ground but less than 20 mph uphills. However, it's not that bad considering that I'm over 200 lbs (including my locks and other stuff), but I would love to be able to maintain the same speed, keep up with traffic, and have less impatient drivers tail gating me.

I got a80cc kit on my Peace 2006 and top end is about 58,on flat ground, have performance muffler, and super flow carb along with aftermarket CDI,coil and plug. Last thing I have to do is mess with the clutch springs and varriator weighs and I think I could get another 7 to 10mph. This bike has been run hard for 14yrs I've re built the motor 3 times all 80cc kits could go 100cc but I am partial to 80 over all these yrs I've never messed with the varriator or clutch but that's my next project.

Make sure you get the complete kit which includes the high performance crankshaft if you try to use the stock crank all your work with the top end up grade will be destroyed because the stock crank won't be able to handle the extra load.

You should’ve derestricted it, my friend has this bike but it’s a 50cc with an aftermarket exhaust and air filter. It does 50 but speedos are normally off a couple so I’d say 45, all you have to do is take a washer off by the variator for an extra 5mph

The exhaust was suppose to fit from the factory but the brackets were off by a few inches so I kept hammering and bending until the mounting brackets lined up with the bolt holes. Hope this helped.

I even prefer them to the pumper Keihin's, the 25mm body seems to be the sweet spot for a lot of engines, properly tuned they are one of my favorite CV type carburetors.

You put the stand down and then sort of jolt the scooter backwards while holding the stand down with your foot. It basically lifts the scooter up. It takes a little bit of force. Then to make it go back down you just push the scooter forward. As far as the trunk, better aerodynamics without it. I just use the seat for storage.

If yours only goes 30 mph you either have your valves adjusted too tight i set mine at .005 thousandths or you did not get the flywheel set at T.D.C and you put the camshaft at the wrong position when you put the timing chain on Also you need to make sure you have the correct air cleaner on the scooter they run best with the stock air box As far as putting the 150cc engine on it I have done it you need a good welder and you need the 150 frame engine mounts off the donor scooter . Also you are running the bore kit with a stock carb? it will run too lean replace your jets or buy a performance carb. But by law I can not suggest you do it And remember the 150 uses a bigger and stronger frame plus bigger brakes that you really need If you want to go faster just buy a 150 or bigger bike

Scotty McMasters Check your variator (front pulley). It may have a restriction ring on the drive boss (the piece that the variator rides on). Remove that ring, put it all back (make sure you put the drive boss back on WITHOUT that restrictor ring), and then test it. You may also need to remove a small restriction in your exhaust as well. Beyond that, additional mods (final drive gear swap, exhaust upgrade, and full CVT upgrade) are required. Keeping the tires pressure up and the rims in good condition also help with top end.

How did you upgrade a stock carb into a 150cc carb? What size jet are you running? I did the cylinder and piston upgrade stock cam, valves. Its an 80cc now will the other upgrades really weaken my bottom end if im just using it for transportation an not to race with?

I think he's kidding on the carb. I ordered a carb for my 150. I ended up putting it on the 50 and it is a perfect fit. It is identical to the carb that came off the 50. I think 150 just uses gas faster. The 50 was stepped up to 100 and it clearly goes through the tank quicker.

Shouldve got a two stroke. I drove my buddys VIP moped brand new and with the new upgraded carb i do 40 mph. Down hill. I bought a two stroke 50cc moped. And wow... Kymco super 9s liquid cooled and holy shit.. No mods on it. And i top out 51 mph completely stock on a flat road.. And im a pretty big dude. I weight 210 lbs. Im buying a 70cc big bore kit for it and a free flowing exhaust and bigger pilot jets for the carb. And changing the clutch. I want to do atleast 65 mph on it. Or atleast above 60 mph. Wish me luck!

Aprilia's put these Chinese Scooters to shame... I only had a 70cc Kit/ Ported Head/Dellorto Carb. finely Tuned to a Polini "Expansion Chamber" And would Eat Gy6/150cc's for Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner...! Going to move up now to a 90cc Polini Kit...😱

I took my scooter to Pompano for a tune-up, worst mistake ever they tighten the Rockers to where there's probably .001 on my 50cc. Almost no compression, they filled the oil over an inch past the fill line, it was riding up the dipstick and I told them not to change my oil because I had just done it for 5 days prior also, they got Grime in my gas line, fuel filter or whatever. Pretty sure it made its way through my carburetor which they had to have taken off because the needle was bent. Before I went there for my tune up I was hitting 50 and probably even passed that. I had no compression when I left it wouldn't stay started so I turned around went back only for them to crank my idle screw a full turn without even listening to it because it was off and I had to go to work so I had to leave. I told them not to change my blinker light because I had it coming in the mail and they charge me 10 f****** dollars for it.. oh me to drive 25 miles back home going 35 miles an hour

That's crazy, in my state (Massachusetts) which is infamous for high insurance, for a bike under 750cc it is about $150-$300 a year for insurance since it is small capacity and falls under the "limited use" category, and even registration, title, and plates are reduced cost from a car.

It only means that the valve is longer by a the difference. However the the longer valve head has more material in it if you decide to port and polish. The smother and enlarged ports allow for more flow of the gas and air and horsepower in these small rely on flow.

Try moving the C-clip on your needle down one notch, maybe two (raising up the needle) sounds like your needle is too low and not delivering enough fuel at part throttle, if it still does after that, get the two next sizes up from it and try the smaller of the two first. This sounds like either too small of a main jet or needle too low. If your needle isn't adjustable get a Mikuni CV carburetor off of ebay (google varietystorefront for the seller) about $60 bucks and it is a great carb.
