unless youre really rich dont get any of these (except for the herman miller). get an office chair that cost 300 and you'll be set for a really long time. gaming chairs are only really to look good but its not really comfortable for really long hours. these are all pretty bad picks in my opinion. sorry if it sounds like I'm hating I just really dislike people getting really bad recommendations

One of the most important things, has to be durability, if I spend a good amount of money on a chair, id expect it to last for a good years without the piston starting to fail etc.

Interesting gaming chair comparative video Marcus, the one aspect you forgot to mention regarding the Herman Miller Embody chair is that it has a 12-year warranty on all parts and that they will send a technician to your home to fix the chair if you encounter a problem.

Have the normal Embody and it is an amazing chair. I had really bad back aches in my midrange office chair that was fine for a few hours, but there is a reason chairs are rated at hours. Spend a 10 hour work day in a chair and you’ll know the difference. The Embody simply is in a completely different level from these rest. And if you do actually take the plunge it comes with a hefty twelve year warranty for that hefty price.

Hi PC Centric, thanks for another entertaining and informative video. The thing about Herman Miller is it will last forever. There's a huge used market and readily available service parts. I picked up a used Aeron that was 20 years old for $20 USD and a replacement piston for about the same. KZread has plenty of repair videos for the DIYer. So yeah, list price for a new one is steep but if it's the last chair you'll ever buy then it probably saves you money in the long run.

Thanks for the information as I'm looking for a new chair myself. One thing that's important to me is that I work from home so the chair I need is not just for gaming for a couple of hours a day, I'll be sitting in it for 7-8 hours daily, so I need long term comfort and the ability for it to hold up over time with a lot of use. Had Herman Miller chairs at my old office job so I know that they are good for a full day's work.

Really if you wanted to use the Herman miller properly all you need is a standing desk so you can raise it or unless you want to do it 100% correct were your eye level should be at the twords the top or slightly above your monitor the arm rest would set over the desk. The desk is the problem not the chair. Also you can address the warranties like Nobel chair with a 2yr and HM with 12yr 100% covered.

I have a very inexpensive chair and I felt the same way about my armrest being too far forward. What I did was put the right armrest and on the left side, and the left arm rest on the right side so that they'd be further back. Maybe that's possible with that chair.

Like you though I find the arm rests don't go back far enough!! It's ok enough when I am sat up straight using the PC though but when you lean back a bit for more joypad gaming that's when it's noticable. Though you don't really need arm support then so it's not too bad. I would love to try those Logitech/Herman Miller chairs but far too expensive!

I own and have used an Embody for 8 years, the other chairs are a joke pointless same as the cheapest chair's available. The cost of Herman Miller chairs is high, but what price do you put on your health, and yes it is 10 times better than the Noble chair. Nobile chairs and alike are all just copy and paste versions of each other made in the same Chinese factories. In the USA, the cost of the Embody would pay for itself in one operation for your back. Using a chair on the basis of how it feels is the wrong thinking, it should be how it impacts on your health

If I'm not mistaken, you don't have to sit inproperly in the Embody. In your prefered position, you have your elbows touching the front part of the armrests. What you need is to move your monitor/setup better, if you feel that you want to be closer. There is absolutelly no need to have your table almost touching your belly.

Well considering that high-end chairs like herman miller will typically last wayyy longer than their 12-year warranty (I've seen HM Aerons being almost 30 years old!!!), I think the high price for them is definitely justified. Just calculate the per-year cost of these chairs and you'll find out that it's actually not a bad deal. If you spend a lot of time sitting at your desk, getting a good-quality ergonomic chair is definitely a much-needed investment for your back and health.

And considering that ppl can spend almost $1k on a new phone and they typically change their phones every 2 to 3 years, surely spending that much money on a chair like this is doable, right? I'm NOT justifying that everyone should spend $1k+ on a chair. I'm just trying to change ppl's perspective on expensive ergonomic chairs coz most ppl would just look at these chairs and think "why would anyone ever spend that much money on a chair???", when u actually think about it, it makes complete sense.

I think you can't judge a chair until you've used it for months. Would be interesting to see you do the Secret Labs chair. The problem with gaming chairs for me is that they are not made for thick built guys. (Thick - not obese.) If you have thick thighs you struggle to sit comfy on the base of the gaming chair. It pushes your legs too close together. Secondly they make you curve your shoulders forward, if your shoulders are broad.

I've always gone for mesh-back office chairs over gaming chairs personally. I would like to try a Herman Miller one however it's way too overpriced for what it is in my opinion.

Hello Mr. PC Centric... I just saw another review where the could adjust the armrest in closer to the body? Isn't this exactly what you need???? The adjustment function is in and out, and kind of makes the armrest narrow or wider against the body. In your review you only demonstrated hightness adjustment. Now it can be a pain to adjust narrow wide because it requires quite some force and can be a challenge to hit the exactly "notch" you want ! But google it and try it out! And even better- tell me your result! ;) cheers

A huge problem I have with that Herman Miller is the same as yours but for different reasons. For me its because the armrests have little to adjustment whatsoever and then you come across *"INSERT* *NO* *NAME* *BRAND* *FROM* *CHINA"* and they have all this 4D movement adjustments for under £200. It just frustrates me/ I want a chair like the Herman Miller Embody BUT with actually fully adjustable armrests not just a slight up and down adjustment

I think the arm wrist issue for you is that it's too wide you need to align your arms with your shoulders

Don't waste your money on a gaming chair. Buy a quality used office chair. Steel case, Ergohuman, Herman Miller etc. I got one for £200, cleaned up nicely and spares available. Much, much better and will last years.

Hey there, first of all I love your vids. I comment now because i'm in need a of little advice from you or the community here. I'm trying to build my first gaming pc and I've done hours of research for the following set up. I would love to get any feedback about compatibility or if i'm missing power in one of the components i picked. Personally i'm not very sure of the motherboard i've picked. Appreciate it! Case Corsair 5000D Airflow Tempered Glass Zwart Videokaart MSI GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GAMING X TRIO 12G Processor AMD Ryzen 9 5900X Boxed Motherboard MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk CPU cooler be quiet! 13:30 ... can't believe you are complaining about that. Drop the rests down a little, so they sneak under the desk. Just like everyone else with desk chairs does. You end up with your elbows slightly lower than your wrists, but that's the nature of the game. Once you get use to it, you never think twice. Have said it before, you should get that amplifier off the carpet. I bet the manual says you should not put it on carpet. You'll also get fluff in it and cause components to overheat, with a fire risk. You should think of active speakers like Dynaudio Focus if you want good quality without an amplifier. (KEF LS50 Wireless II as another example.) I think you should go all in and get some active speakers with analogue RCA inputs. Then you can add a Chord Qutest as your DAC.
