The one thing I find more annoying than ads are the fake ads and the fake X buttons. Then there's the multi-step ad. You go through the advert, like 30 seconds worth, before the exit button pops up. But, it turns out that it just leads to a new screen that makes you wait 5-10 seconds longer for the actual exit button to appear. Edit: Look I just read a lot of stuff. So the ads are usually to unlock stuff like fast passes and story chapters...

For number 89, i think captchas like the 'select all with traffic lights' as well as the 'tick this checkbox to prove you are not a robot' check your mouse movements to see if they are linear and robotic or arbitraire like an average humans will be, because bots can tick a box and identify traffic lights but cant really match the random mouse movements of a human

IBM: In 2014 Google released reCAPTCHA v2, which replaced text- and image-based challenges with a simple checkbox stating "I am not a robot." As users check the box, reCAPTCHA v2 analyzes the user’s interactions with web pages, evaluating factors like typing speed, cookies, device history, and IP address to determine whether a user is likely to be human. The checkbox is also part of how the CAPTCHA works: no CAPTCHA reCAPTCHA tracks the user's mouse movements as they click the box. A human's movements tend to be more chaotic, whereas bots' movements are more precise. If no CAPTCHA reCAPTCHA suspects a user may be a bot, it presents them with an image-based CAPTCHA challenge.

For no. 5 at 18:12, the reason why you can’t use Face ID or Touch ID when the device has been restarted is simply due to the Secure Enclave being locked. In broad strokes, the way Face ID/Touch ID work is when they scan your face or fingerprint, the scan gets converted into a model which is then compared to the one stored on the Secure Enclave and when the comparison is done, the Secure Enclave just outputs a Boolean authentication token (true or false) which will either unlock or keep the device locked respectively. So you can’t use any biometric authentication until the Secure Enclave has been unlocked by the passcode. The same mechanism is used to temporarily disable Face ID/Touch ID by pressing and holding the side and volume buttons. The whole point is to use something other than biometrics to unlock the Secure Enclave, hence the passcode.

2:08 For 89, it's nice to know that, usually, the boxes that just spill over you don't check won't count, the main point is just to track how the cursor goes along the screen and see if the behavior is bot-like (as in it checks if it glides in an extremely straight line or in a very exact manner, etc.), so it's not too bad. I'm not sure about the deciphering of the sometimes unintelligible sequences of letters though.
Fun fact about captcha you only kinda have to get the captcha right its mainly watching your mouse movements so just move it about a bit and you should be allowed through more often. Your refined 180 flicks are whats getting you locked out, your mouse movement is to precise
I can't even begin to tell how relatable this video is to my daily life struggles with technology. Atleast I'm not the only one.

Thank you for bringing to light on these topics, because it is incredibly frustrating how there is such a lack of communication from a company to its customers, or just greed.
7:29 I agree, at my school computer lab there are some computers with Windows 11 and some with Windows 10 and i find is so wierd that me and my friend (both have computers with Windows 11) always have the wrong weather. For example, last week it showed us that it was raining meanwhile outside the Sun was shining so bright that my other friend couldnt see what there was on the monitor.
Another great video Aaron the most frustrating thing for me is I recently switched from pixel seven pro to iPhone 14 on the pixel as I’m sure you aware you can swipe back on both left and right side of the screen but in iPhone for some reason you have to stretch your thumb The whole way to the left hand side of the phone to go back it’s frustrating me so much I’m considering going back to the pixel
Man all these frustrations are very valid. Its insane to think how far some companies have got away with this for so long.

I just love when Windows does an update and restarts. It’s so much fun to have to figure out what browser tabs I had open because they didn’t restore and then find out Windows has disconnected my mic and speakers every damn time. Just pure joy hopping on a zoom call, only to find out I can’t hear or speak. In Microsoft’s defence, it must be really hard to ensure that ridiculously simple settings don’t randomly change I guess.
I'm being honest right now, not trolling or joking - that was the most fun video i ever watched on KZread, thank you Arun!
I love the captcha one. I always struggle with picking the boxes when they hang over just a bit 😂

14:39 instagram does this but worse, you’re reading a very interesting post (or watching) and you tap the top and it refreshes your feed, that just boils my blood

So annoying, especially in reels, because it doesn't even refresh them, it just sends you back to the top of the videos you just watched
Hope they take notes well and try fixing them...👍
Thanks mate, this video helped me a lot in understanding a basic thing that the problems which makes me frustrate to such an extreme level is a universal problem and there is nothing to loose your temper in the process and spoil your day rather than focusing on other important things 👍🏼

What frustrated you to such an "extreme" level?
I had a ten minute rant last night whilst opening Prime about the exact same thing. I want to carry on watching something from the night before why oh why put it half way down the page! Great video as always Arun ❤

I assume they want to push the stuff thats charged as extra rather than giving you the option to continue watching you've already paid for
One of my biggest gripes is genuinely how the ebook market is controlled mostly by Amazon, with a portion of it to kobo! There's no competition in ebook pricing because of it! OH AND there's no way to sync Amazon Kindle to an ebook library site (like Libby/Overdrive)
I related to more of these than I thought. Especially the one about how my gaming laptop feels like Amazon’s cheapest windows laptop when it isn’t on charge.
+1) Why No Headphone Jack in Phones when 32bit 192khz is not Wirelessly Transmitable +2) Why No SD Card Slot in Phones Nowadays as they They've got large and Fast Enough to be used on Gaming Handhelds (RoG Ally, SteamDeck) +3) Why No FM Radio in Phones when it can be and Survival tool in case of earthquake or floods where internet and web services are halted.
I think this is my favourite video you've ever done. If even a handful of these companies make some changes based on this, it'll be a godsend

I recently was without power for 9 days, and a thing that annoyed me is the fact even offline games didn't work because they needed an update. it wouldnt even let me access them at all. I think we need to not rely on EVERYTHING to be online. it's just gunna be bad down the line.

considering how much data costs in MOST countries, you would think devs would have offline compatibility in mind. when I go to the doctors I just play this came called word cookies. it's basically the only thing that works LOL@@Unknown_Genius
The voice mail notification that can't be turned off without either opening it and spending money to listen to probably a second someone accidentally left the call open or having to enter the config of the phone to make it forget it had a voice mail configuration. Another one is that insanely annoying "Do you accept cookies of this website?" popping over a lot of websites and trying to force you into going "yes", since rarely there is a "no" button. Same goes for those websites that are trying to force you into accepting their notifications. No, I don't want my PC like my phone with shit popping up while I'm playing.
The youtube app does have a back button? It has had that since as long as I can remember. Anyways awesome video as always 😀👍. Keep up the good work!
An absolute glorious rant. Relatable on so many levels
#5 "can't use FaceID or TouchID after you restart" This is actually a really GOOD thing. Your password is the key that unlocks the encryption on your device. After that happens, it then knows what to compare your face or fingerprint to to unlock as well. Including that mechanism unecrypted is a recipe for disaster.

We are at the point that where security and convenience are constantly at odds. I agree that it's more secure, but for consumers with less security concerns, there should be other options.

@@jmarquiso Yep I swear there are a ton more people getting locked out by their digital 'smart' lock from their own home than people saved by these from thieves. And way more people lost their years of work and memories because of bitlocker than those actually benefit from it.

@@Stoned01 later in the video he does say it about after restarting. OP is more right than they realize. In the U.S., the police can force you to use your fingerprint or face to unlock your phone. They cannot force you to give up your password. They need a warrant for that. There are other times, sadly, someone may have no issue overpowering you and forcing you to put your finger on the unlock, but wouldn’t go as far as doing whatever it would take to force you to say your password. (Abusive relationships, abusive parents, and even people that would intimidate someone, like a school principal).
58. HELL YEAH, I was so happy you mentioned it!
The one with iPhone having a different section for . , : etc is just a thing to get used to. And having that stuff there would take up space and make it even harder to hit the keys.

@@your_average_cultured_dude They could do timestamps based on topics because the list was mostly grouped into specific topics like gaming and UI, etc.,
A very intesesting list. Another one to add is Facebook and other apps forcing you to use their built in web browser. I much prefer my own. Or the constant "we use cookies" every time you visit a website. The option to accept all is always easy, yet to opt out you have to go into a sub menu and opt out of each type of cookie manually.

7:11 similar thing, I have many things in my home that all use a round cable like a dc port, such as a lamp, diffuser, soundbar etc. but they all use different cables. So confusing, so similar, yet none are compatible.
About 15:25, I bought Microsoft Office 2007 years back and I still use it to this day. You enter your product key, you install, and done. You have it for life. The good old days
