Yes I agree. The situation at X is still unfolding and when you have a shake up on that scale, it takes years for it to settle. BetterHelp by design is scummy. It targets the most vulnerable of all ages in their most desperate state and data mines them. I have dealt with mental health issues most my life, and the amount of lowlifes that try to scam this community is atrocious and can lead to people harming themselves. Compare that to Elon being an edgelord and some mean tweets, and a bunch of developers that were WAY overpaid for doing nothing compared to other developers in other spaces, you can see why I agree with you.

We still love shows like loki, having it be one of the most highest rated shows that has been produced by Marvel past endgame but it also really stands out when compared to many other shows like She-Hulk, Thor love and Thunder, Secret Invasion, Eternals, etc etc.

You're right, it was racism and hate speech that skyrocketed on Twitter after Musk practically ended moderation. I was previously perma-banned because I like to insult assholes with no chance of getting my profile unlocked again. After Musk took over and his "free" speech model I was reinstated. I can confirm that no insults that got me banned from pretty much every platform over the last 20 years has so far been a problem. I have to give it to him, it doesn't just work for Nazis and fascists, it also works for me and I can call them every name under the sun with no problems. (or even microsoft zune's software) Also Zune would do way better at reading the meta data of your music and it would have the artist/ song title and even the album art and have everthing sorted in it's appropriate albums seamlessly without the user having to manually do any of that! No more endless lists of "artist unknown" and "untitled" it was actually a better user experience! But all the media could focus on is "this is a ipod copycat how original hur dur!

Whereas the BIG companies are supposed to already be reasonably well off, so they just have to NOT do stupid things and they should have been, sort of ok. Admittedly I don't know what the real financial situation of Facebook and Twitter are, or were. I imagine the fact that they make their money based on ads means it's always a weird balance of privacy and intrusiveness, and actually serving relevant ads. I get the impression a lot of the lower quality ads are also straight up scams, if not full on viruses for some of the weirder apps.

The amount of shady sponsorships you see on KZread is concerning, a lot of them turn out to be scams or make false claims, especially a group of them from the same broader company including “Established Titles” and “Kamikoto Knives”. Yes KZreadrs just want money but they should do at least a little research into the companies they are sponsored by. The whole “I didn’t know” shouldn’t be a valid excuse, this is something they are promoting to their audience, to get their audience to buy whatever it is, they should have done at least a little research into the companies first. They need to start taking responsibility for the companies they promote. Better help is probably the worst case of this, if it is a scam product then all you lose is money and feel pretty stupid but trusting a site with personal information for them to just lie and sell it is especially scummy.

As someone who bought the quest 1, and quest 2, and is about to get the quest 3 I agree with you. Marc isn’t doing anything the vr community wouldn’t be the same if these wonder full game creators didn’t make these fantastic games. This is one of the worst years for vr yet even vr content creators are getting less views. 2020 was the golden age of vr in my opinion.

The reason why VR was so popular back in 2020 is because of covid. Nowadays, nobody new is getting into it because it seems so niche to most people; the only people really getting a Quest 3 are people that have already been in the VR space for some time.

and it's sad because VR is IMO one of the best ways to experience games. it's what really turns game INTO experiences. while there are some flatscreen games that I really love, such as TOTK and minecraft, nothing compares to the feeling of a great VR game.

Well, not really. They wanted to own everything about it, whilst developing it from scratch, which is basically next to impossible, in the time frame they had in mind. Imagine if Star Citizen needed to develop a game engine from scratch, and implement all of the "never before seen" improvements?! Our great grandchildren would probably be playing the alpha, or in other words, it would take 3 to 5 times as long to get (maybe close) to where it is today.

Yeah it is turning a corner with the q3 and the fact that Apple and samsung are getting into the game I feel like Microsoft will eventually make all there vr stuff in the gamepass app in meta quest and that will also boost it "oh have an Xbox oh now you can connect them" I see it oh and as far as being empty it's like going out to any other social enviorment people aren't always there sometimes there doing other things but going to worlds were there are more random people finding friends and splitting off into direct events always seems to work when there's nothing to do or getting to know 18 plus places in hw and vrc

On the topic of the MCU, a big problem for Disney has been budget bloat on their films through a combination of producers attaching their names to projects, and then not really contributing, and the fact that production is relying heavily on very expensive post production to compensate for a lack of well thought out pre-production. It turns out, constantly re-rendering CGI scenes because the director can't understand the shot composition without all of the effects and lighting . . . Is really really expensive. It used to be that pre-production was the cure to this. Complicated, expensive, shots, were carefully planned out and visualized well in advanced so that effects crews, in particular the old school physical effects crews, thoroughly understood what the shot was going to be like and how they were going to pull it off. The director might not get EXACTLY what they wanted, but it would be good enough to make it work, because hundreds of talented people had a blue print of what they were working towards. We don't do that anymore. To use Quantamania as an example, if the movie was made on a reasonable budget, 473 million would have be respectable box office pull. Adjust for inflation it would be about 10 percent less than what Batman Begins Made on its worldwide release.

In regards to CNN+, another major contributing factor which you did not mention was bad timing. CNNs parent company, Time Warner, was in the process of merging with Discovery. This merger closed just 10 days after CNN+ launched, and it completely changed the leadership at both CNN and Warner. It was this new leadership team that immediately axed it without giving it a chance to find its audience.

The Amazon dash button actually can be useful for things other than ordering items from Amazon. It can be used with IFTTT to trigger custom actions. I used one next to our cat litter box, I set it up to record that the litter was cleaned when pressed, and then to send me a text reminding me to clean the litter if the button hasnt been pressed in the last 5 days.

I actually got those tons of those dash buttons near the end of the cycle when they were on sale for $1 but was still refunded the original $5 so I was getting paid to use them. Then on top of that, they actually have a lithium primary AA cell in them that I would then break out of the dash button. These batteries typically cost like $10+ for a pack of 4. I've since moved countries and houses multiple times and still have some of the lithium batteries I keep for high drain items of valuable items I don't want batteries leaking into.
