What do you think of sketching people in public?✍🏼 PATREON: www.patreon.com/sketchingscottie INSTAGRAM: instagram.com/sketchingscottie/
Thanks! I just wish I was as young and agile as you. But at 85 I sketch every day and work on watercolors. And of course watch your videos. I am supporting you on Patreon, too.

Thanks Frank for the support!! So good you sketch and watercolor everyday. You are an inspiration👍🏼
That was fun. Enjoyed the sight seeing as well as the sketching. Thanks for taking us along with you.
Fantastic!

Love to see you work
Great sketch Scottie, thanks for sharing👍🖊️✏️
Amazing.
so cool!
I have done gesture sketches and it’s fun. Just a few lines as people walk past. I’m always hungry for time to do these things.
I try to sketch live people in cafes or parks all the time. It was fun to hear you express how people stand right in front of the person you are trying to draw, or, they stand right up and walk away as though they waited for you to start drawing and then decide to leave Also, you mentioned that you have to imagine who they were, because they have left but you still want to complete the sketch. People lie still on the beach! I've tried to draw there. thanks for the video.

Yes sometimes just have to make some of it up!😊 Your sketches are great! Love seeing them on Patreon 🙌🏼
Keep up making great videos like this Scottie! You make me interested in drawing again. It would be cool to be able to visit Sydney and do a live urban sketching session with you.

Will do! Glad you're getting into sketching🙌🏼
It proves that you like painting very much from your heart.😊😊
You are crazy cool man!
Seems like an entertaining experience and cool result! and you aced the camera set up. Love the nonchalant guy at 5:40 ish haha I’d love to try this on the next beautiful day, haven’t done in-person sketching yet. Thanks for the video :)

Thanks Eliphosys! Yes he was funny hey😂. Go for it! 🙌🏼
Very cool and also a nice digital trip to Sydney, greetings from Germany.😃
i've been watching your videos for the last week and practicing drawing from reference photos. really loved your methods of quick sketching! started sketching faster in general, but it still was not fast enough for sketching from life, as I learnt today on a sketch trip 😄 went home to watch this video, thank you, it was reeeeeeally helpful! will try to find spots where people move less 😁

That's great you went on a sketching trip! Yes a spot where they stand still is the best😉
Congratulations! I’ve never been able to nail this challenge. Maybe I’m gonna give it a try next time I run in a marathon race. Always so many people loafing around after the race. Great job!

That's a good idea! They are too tired to move haha😂

Well done Scottie. I only managed 65 and some are whilst watching TV as it was cold and wet here in the UK!

Thanks Stella! That's amazing to do 65 when there's not many people around👍🏼. TV is a great idea 😊
Interesting to see how many people are on their cell phones not paying attention to what is going on around them! Nice video……not sure I’m up to that yet, but you never know! Cold weather setting in here in central Pennsylvania!

it's always good to have your sketchbook just incase 😉
Great tips! I sketch people in my local cafe but sometimes I worry they won’t like me doing it. Maybe because I’m somewhat closer to them. Have you had this experience?
@SketchingScottie
Жыл бұрын
Yes definitely! Easier when you are sitting further away😊. I was wearing sun glasses but that might look strange in a cafe haha
한국인인 보이니 반갑네요
Yea cool but I have the most trouble with drawing shirtless men(muscles/anatomy) with this freestyle method. So I was wondering if you could make a video, if you know what I mean please ❤️
@SketchingScottie
Жыл бұрын
😊 you could try a KZreadr like @chommang as he does more anatomy before drawing 👍🏼 www.youtube.com/@Chommang
I'm so curious...what pen were you using?
