I did A level French years ago, this makes me realise that the style in which it was taught was so not useful to me, intimidating and lists orientated. Thankfully however I remember a lot of the stuff I learnt, but I think submersion is what I need now, these phrases are a v useful part of this.

In day 10 of learning French. I find the pronunciations are tricky, to say the least. I'm intermediate level German and while there are advantages and disadvantages in both languages (from the perspective of a native English speaker)....one distinct adv. of German, IMO, is pronunciation. It is pretty simple to master, save for the tongue twisting words you run in to. The sounds that have 'tricked' me is Un and En. In Duolingo I keep answering "Un voiture" when the correct answer is "En voiture". Overall I'm off to a good start. French has a beautiful flow to it. (As others mentioned, she has perfect pronunciation in both French and English)

It is good, but I don't want to sit through her reading the English part, which is redundant since one has already read it while the French was being spoken! It makes the learning TOO SLOW!

I felt the same at first, then I began to look at it as an immersion use of basic french words getting the real sense of the normal speed and context of the word in progressive conversation. I've been stuck on the most simple use of these basic words for the longest so the intermediate examples are helpful. And of course the english translation is there. Still I get what you are saying for beginner learners. Yet with so many other simple phase videos for basic words on youtube, I like this advance conversation format.
