Every body should know Maya by now, she has been a pro master guitarist since the age of 6 or 7. So it's not surprising. I was following her since the age of 7.

Also, Maya is already an established KZreadr with dozens of videos going back to when she was 7 years old doing rock/metal covers.

Her dad was pleased when she made that comment that he was not a musician but played as a hobby and taught her etc...the camera panned to him side stage and he was grinning all over his face. He was rocking along as she was playing. Her parents are very proud of her and must have saved hard to bring her to the USA for a few months so she could meet her metal heroes and jam with them etc.. They are also coaching her along and they were in the audience as she played her piece by Papa Roach.

If you want to see another young guitarist, look for the Australia's Got Talent audition of Taj Farrant from 2019. He was 9 years old when he auditioned, and you'll appreciate his playing skills!

From what I read she doesn't need AGT .. the élite of Hard Rock Guitar know who she is . .she's been having great time hanging out with and jamming with them

Yes. Exactly. I am from her city ie Chennai. There is absolutely silence in the media here. In contrast, the local piano prodigy Lydian was all over the local media after he broke some record in an international event. Whereas in Maya's case the only media coverage came from two long distance interviews on mainstream English tv channels. It is as if the local media has no clue about her whereabouts here in Chennai or the family is deliberately avoiding media. There is something odd going on here.

@@Tara-zz1rk On the bright side .. people take for granted our modern communication .. me .. not at all. We can "chat" about Maya, get translations if needed .. and simply talk. Sadly ... the "masses" .. here in the US and in India are attracted by things that are bright and shinny (or cat videos). We .. gentlemen and ladies of "good taste" can at least enjoy the "early years" of this young prodigy ..

@@Tara-zz1rk She is probably still in America. And the contest is still going on so she won’t be allowed to give interviews until it’s over. Such shows make you sign non disclosure agreements. After her journey in the show is over only then she can do press.

@@globalcitizenn Yes, you could be right. But she has given a couple of interviews to major TV channels in English. I live in Chennai, so I am a little surprised that she does not appear in the local press at all. But then, she's is very young and maybe the family is protecting her.

I'm is because she is Indian and they have a completely different way of raising their children there in India.

She is going to be invited everywhere by these hard core rock band she I really good I wish I could play like that like you darling my fingers don’t want to work together

She was playing a variation on "Last Resort" by Papa Roach and they have seen and repost her performance on their social media.

Why do you have a problem with her age...?? instead focus more on her talent... she's 10, spoke english like her mother tongue this means she was brought up in a good environment with a beautiful loving parents, kudos for her mom and dad who supported her what she loved to do.. !

She was actually mimicking the sound of a Veena.. a South Indian classical instrument, a bit different from Sitar, which is a North Indian classical instrument

Great reaction, Britt! I thought the same thing as you when i first saw her on AGT. However, the more she talks, you can tell that she is still a child. She is definitely good on the guitar.

She is really terrific on guitar but as far as I've seen on AGT it seems to be really hard for musicians/guitarist to win. The only one I remember winning or came close, was the one guitarist that uses it like multiple instruments and makes drum sounds and other sounds on his guitar while he plays it, named Marcin Patrzalek. I mostly see the singers/stand up comedians win.
