I'm glad that I'm not the only one whose pet peeve is people thinking that black = gothic. This one really gets me, and while I agree that doing gothic without any black is much harder, we've enough people proving that it's not impossible. And what is with KZread doing that thing? I've had that happen to me a couple of times too, I'm not sure why that happens, but it's really annoying.

Yeah there's so many beautiful pieces that are gothic and not black and I feel like it really trips up a lot of beginners who believe that sugary carnival is goth because its black, it could potentially be styled goth but its not inherently goth. Also yeah it makes me feel bad because I really try to reply to all comments I get

As someone who pretends to know what they’re doing when it comes to putting together a goth coord, I need this video. Lol. Did I tell you I love the Sims music in the background? Brings me back to my days when I devoted literal weekends to that game

I love my solid black tights with my solid black tea party shoes. People are shocked when they find out I am in fact wearing shoes in public. 😂

Terrific advice! And a few of the points made I had to learn the hard way personally with some trial and error (themes not matching when you actually try them together lol) Would have loved to see the full coord you are wearing in this video, I googled the metamorphose tights and they look gorgeous

I believe I've got a picture of it on my Instagram from a few month back, probably around February or so. My Instagram Is dr_papillon. I wouldn't be able to replicate the coord however since I have since sold that dress

I'm watching this because I proposed to my wife that we both buy each other outfits to wear on a date but we buy outfits in a style we don't wear and I really wanna see my wife dress in this style. I'm really excited to do this I can't wait to see her face when I show her her outfit and this helped me to figure out how to put an outfit together as a man with no idea about fashion.

@@DrPapillon not gonna lie I would love a vid explaining some of these terms because I'm still not sure what a cord is and all the sub styles like what aristocratic goth idk what that is. Also I have no idea what you mean when you say sweet, bitter sweet, creepy cute, I don't know what any of that means. Sorry I just found myself suddenly invested in this stuff and I hate not knowing what I'm doing.

@@joshuaford6700 I'm not gonna lie, my life has gotten a lot busier this last year and I haven't really had the time to make videos, but there are a few more generic lolita term videos out there. Coord is short for coordinate and basically means a planned out and coordinated full outfit, so it includes your main piece (skirt, jumpkerskirt which is a dress with straps, or onepiece which is a dress with sleeves), blouse, socks/tights, shoes, headpiece, jewelry, and sometimes includes other pieces like wigs, wristcuffs, corsets, etc. It's pretty difficult to describe the substyles but it may help to Google them and look at images. I would recommend typing in the substyle name and the phrase "egl" which stands for elegant gothic lolita so it's more likely to be lolita not weird kink stuff. For Aristocratic it's not exactly lolita anymore so I would consider typing "EGA" which stands for Elegant Gothic Aristocrat. A famous EGA figure is Mana so if you want you can look at him and see if you like his style but he does wear EGL too.

I graduated early, got engaged, got approved for a surgery, found out my parent has a bad medical condition, and I've applied to grad school, but I still do love lolita and I do want to get back into videos its just tough
