I love your #11!! Here are some tidbits and advice from my own experience: - if you have an emergency c-section, try and stay calm even as your dream for a vaginal delivery disappear, and even if your baby is born early: the medical team will take care of you two. - the spinal tap barely pinched, I didn't feel pain. It was actually a relief to stop feeling stuff before the operation and it helped me relax. - talk to the team present about everything you're feeling. I told them we didn't know the baby's sex and that it was a surprise (I was holding on to one last thing) so they wouldn't tell me before I saw the baby. - they'll put a catheter in after your spinal tap, and you may still feel something, though no pain. It may disturb you a bit (as catheters do), but focus on the fact that it's not hurting you, and once it's in place you don't feel nor notice it. - if like me you don't feel any sharp pain, but the whole thing is freaking you out (especially in an emergency with zero preparation), speak up and they can give you drugs to help. In my case it was ketamine and I saw geometrical patterns and was half passed out until I heard my baby cry. So I wasn't mentally present during the process and I was grateful for it, and still awake to hold my baby afterwards. - about holding your baby: it may take five minutes for you to hold them as the nurse cleans them out a bit and makes sure the airways are clear (and whatever else it is they're doing). I'm guessing if it's a preemie that you holding them may be even more compromised. It's tough, but it's for your baby's health. - after holding my baby for a minute, they had to take her away again because it's cold in the OR and she was small and needed to be warmed up. It took two hours before I could see her again because I obviously couldn't walk and my bed couldn't get through the nursery door. This is something that still makes me angry (who designs a hospital where a rolling bed cannot get through the nursery door for women to see their baby??). Anyway, be aware that depending on your hospital and the baby's health, it may take some time for you to hold them. Hang in there! You hopefully will have plenty of time afterwards. - if you feel like it, kick all your visitors out when you can finally be with your baby and do skin to skin or breast feeding. You don't owe your family who wants to see the baby. You owe yourself and your baby after what you went through. - removing the catheter does not hurt: I peed with a nurse the next morning and she pulled on it while I was peeing and I didn't know it was out until I asked. Didn't feel a thing! - do take the medicine every time it's proposed, even if you feel fine, so you can stay ahead of the pain. - take as many stool softeners as you can. I was SO hungry starting the next day and did not poop for 3 days (I think my body used up all that food). When it finally happened, it was a tough moment, especially with the incision. Tmi but I was glad they had gloves in the bathroom, and even took some home, which is one of the best decisions I ever made. - holding your belly and wearing the brace they give you helps so so much! - if your doctor doesn't mention it, ask about the kind of stitches they'll use: the new technology is barely more expensive and is like gluing you back together and doesn't require them to remove the stitches! The scar will also look better faster. - you will feel numb around the scar, as nerves have been cut, and it can be frustrating when it's itchy because you get no relief. Feeling can come back slowly. It's been two years for me and there's still a bit of numbness, though I usually don't notice it. - it may still hurt weeks afterwards, especially to one side (where they tied everything up), do talk to your doctor if you're worried, but if there's no swelling, no redness, etc, you should be fine and they can examine you to make sure. - you WILL heal from it, may recover fast like I did and walk around the next day. Even with the pain lingering for a while, I knew it was getting better. And in the end I was grateful to have a vagina still pristine! Also you have your hopefully healthy baby, and will not care what you yourself went through. - if the conditions are good you can still have a vaginal delivery the next time around! Or go for another c-section if needed or if you feel like it'd be too much to go through something different and scary in its own way. You are amazing!

Also, even if your ob is very passionate and fun, do NOT let them convince your partner to look behind the sheet. My husband got slightly traumatized for looking at my insides, because my ob thought it was so fascinating. Don't do eeeet!

I got this from my colleague. She said it to me. Right at my face. That I only got pregnant, I did not give birth. I got many many more comments about my planned c-sect and it depressed me so much that I was crying so much. It was a planned c-sect because of a complication, not that it matters to those people anyway. It still scares me, few months after getting my baby out... C-sect mums do not deserve all the negativity.

My first baby was vaginal with 22 stitches.. I just had a csection last night with a surro baby, pushed for over a hour he didn't move at all. Turns out he was to big to fit he was 10lb 4oz. C sections are wayyyy harder. I feel like I got hit by a train today..

I really had to grieve the birth that I imagined. I had a hard time with feeling like I wasn’t woman enough or that my body didn’t work. I felt (and sometimes still do feel) like I was robbed in some way of the miracle of birth that was my right as a woman to have. Anyway I have c-section number 3 schedule for six weeks from today and it still kinda sucks. But nobody in my life has said anything horrible about it to me but I really beat myself up about “letting it happen”. Sometimes we are harder on ourselves than others are and I really had to work it out between me and God. My husband thinks I’m amazing for what I had to do and God blessed us with an option that saved our baby’s life so that’s good enough for me.

@@katiesantos4312 that's it, you said what i've been feeling since my baby was born, 4 months ago... i grieve the delivery i didn't get to have, and the worst part was that the nurse that was "helping me out" blamed it all on me, she said i wasn't being strong enough to give birth to my son, and that was the reason i had to have a c-section..

Another suggestion, use a pillow to apply pressure on the drive home. Speed bumps and rough roads are killers when you had a C-section.

Another tip for us plus size mommas, (having 3rd c-section in August) to keep the incision dry, take a panty liner and fold it over and place on the incision so it can control the sweat. 👍

I went and bought large gauze pads and kept that folded up by the incision. Also I’ve been told to use a hair dryer after showering to keep everything dry

Alexandra Sutika that's great. Sometimes gauze is hard to find that's why I just used panty liners and folded them. Cheap and efficient. Never had an issue with my incision. And plus the panty liners don't stick to staples if you have those. Gauze tends to sometimes.

I had a c-section and I can not even tell you how many NEGATIVE comments I had about the procedure prior to having my baby, when I sat on the operating bed my whole body was shaking because all I could think of was the horrible things ppl told me I might feel (feeling them cut me, smelling, or hearing when they cut me, etc.) and my experience was literally the opposite! I felt nothing at all, no pain what so ever after the surgery... after all of it was over and to the date it pisses me off thinking about all the comments I got about it. ppl are so inconsiderate and ALWAYS want to point out the negative things about it... if you are going to get a c-section PLEASE do not be scared stay calm and just know you are where you SHOULD be for the best of your health and the baby’s... there is absolutely nothing to be afraid of

I needed to see this. I’m scheduled for a c section in 4 days and although it’s not my first, I’ve struggled with anxiety my whole life and this situation is no exception. Frankly I’m terrified but you’re right i need to get out of my head and realize it’s all for a reason and that’s for my little baby boy 💙

It’s nice to hear you had a good experience! Mine was absolutely horrible.. it was emergency and I couldn’t hold my baby after cause I was shaking and puking. They cut an artery or a blood vessel (can’t remember) and I bled quite a bit. It was awful :(

I had my fourth and last csection last week! Each time was a different experience! The things you speak of are so relatable. But I'm alive and well and my kids are in great health! Glory to God 🧡

I'm about to have my 6th csection, why do people ask, are you allowed to have so many csections?! Like anyone but you get that choice lol I didn't know i had to get permission to have more kids

I’m crying now at the very last part. You wouldn’t believe the negative things I’ve heard about c sections or how I didn’t really give birth. I’ve had 3 and I’m going for my 4th in August. I’m not scared or anything I’m not nervous I just hate the constant questions of “why”. Why am I getting a c section. I’m also sick to death of people telling me that I should still try for a natural birth as if they know my body better than me or my doctor... it’s actually infuriating. I almost want to make a video of what not to say to a pregnant woman/new mom. But thank you for saying such good things it’s so nice to actually hear it said...

Yes! My 4th was an unplanned c section. I labored forever and couldn't get past 9cm. Baby was going into distress so a c section was best. I'm having a repeat c section in July ( 2 years after my last one) and a lot of people don't understand why I won't push for a vbac. I absolutely trust the advice of both my ob and high risk doctor, that's why.

I never made it past 3cm with my 1st. They wouldn't induce me with my 2nd but would have let me go for a vbac if I had gone into labor on my own. Now at 12 weeks with my 3rd I already know that I won't be allowed to even try for a vbac this time because of the 2 previous c sections. I have the scar to prove I gave birth and I'm a Mom and even though I'm sure some people don't see it that way, how you see yourself is more important than how other people see you.

I had a last minute c section last month. I couldn’t believe how quick the baby came out! We didn’t even make it through a whole post Malone song! 😂 the stitching up process felt like a long time but I was really surprised at the little bit of pain I experienced and how well the healing process is going!

I smacked mine in the face during (I had been in labor for over 30 hours and was barely conscious while in the OR from exhaustion). All I remember was him trying to put a mask on my face and since I am VERY claustrophobic, I had a minor panic attack. I immediately apologized and I remember nothing else but waking up in my room a half hour later

LOL, SAME!! I had had a vaginal birth previously, and never dreamed it'd turn into a c section. I wasn't prepared one bit. The anesthesiologist was my rock when my husband went to tend to baby.

i feel like there's such hate towards mums who've had c-sections sometimes. I had to have one because my baby was breech, and my next one will also be a c-section for the same reason. I've been told so many times "Ooooh, what a shame, you aren't even going to try natural birth!" Like, 1. it isn't my fault, it's the way I'm built, and 2. It's literally none of your business. No one gets a medal at the end of it, whether it's a normal birth or c-section. We Ziploc mamas rule

This is messed up. People generally avoid c sections as much as possible since the recovery is so much harder. Sounds like you didn't really have an option, which is how most c sections end up happening anyway.

@@Topaz_Estrella I have a choice at the moment and I'm going for csection because of the 4 degree tear during my last delivery (vbac). Vaginal birth is only faster to recover from if you don't tear or not much. A scar on my belly was way easier to care for and to heal from than one all over the most sensitive parts of your body, that also covers basic body functions, sex and just plain old sitting. I know your comment was written in full support, but the thing is, even if we choose csection we are not less of a parent for it.

The first time I stood up after my C-section I was in awe how much it hurt 😂 I looked at the nurse and said “Are These stitches and staples going to hold up? Cause I feel like my insides are going to spill out in the floor” she laughed so hard

#11 made me cry my eyes out bc I didn’t get the birth I wanted but I appreciate you validating that grief. You are amazing!

Just had my second C-Section 2 days ago and it went very well! My first was very traumatic, but I can happily say; just because the first one was bad doesn’t mean the second will be! Stay strong mommas! Spinal taps are your friend. I felt nothing but pressure and weird sensations as Nurse Zabe went over. I still haven’t received a binder but I’m going to ask for one today. Pain wise, it’s actually not bad, compared to when I had the emergency one. You got this mommas! The faster you get out of bed, when you feel like it, the better!!

the anesthesia made me shake like crazy, uncontrollably. that’s also something to be aware of! I thought something was wrong with me but they said it was normal.

The exact same thing happened to me, my whole body was trembling uncontrollably. they told me it was a normal side effect to the drugs, and I was given diazepam which helped. I also suffered a major fall in blood pressure which I also was told is normal, but it was an very unpleasant experience!

You got me feeling all emotional in the end, girl! Great video. As someone who did not get the birth she wanted and was extremely upset by the way my emergency C went, it's really nice to hear someone talking about all aspects of this, including how it may go for those who are not planning on it. One thing I will add is that in some cases there won't be time to get music playing or learn the names of the people in the room (mine happened so quickly my husband wasn't even in the room yet and it was a mad dash to even get me numb in time), but as long as the baby is cleared the one thing I hope everyone can get is skin-to-skin as soon as it's safe afterwards. Once my son was out of harm's way he was put right on my chest while I was still being stitched up, and he never left after that. It made the whole thing so much easier to swallow when I look back at being able to hold him so quickly. I'm glad I was given that when I did not have control over so much else during his birth.

I have mine scheduled for the 30th if May and oh Lord I am so nervous as this was not what I wanted nor planned for my 2nd child delivery. I remember the pain of the first one 12yrs ago and did not want to repeat that but it is medically necessary. I feel much much more comfortable after watching your video and again THANK YOU, you are a heavenly angel -God sent you to be at the right place to comfort all of us that need a great nurse like you! Oh, thank you so much for this video! ❤️ I just scheduled my c/s at the end of the month as baby is still breech as of 37 weeks. Trying not to freak out over major abdominal surgery when I've been mentally preparing for another vaginal delivery is something I'm really struggling with. I'm hopeful that baby will flip beforehand (I also have an ECV scheduled this week) but your kind words and soft spirit make the whole process a little less intimidating. So here is a huge thank you for all the time and effort you put into this video ❤️

I've had two c-sections but with my first I was lucky enough to have the most amazing nurse. When it was time for me to get up for the first time she helped me over to the bathroom and cleaned me up in the most gentle and caring way. It was the most intimate moment to have with a stranger and my first instinct was to be embarrassed but she was so caring and kind that any ill feelings I had just went right out the window. It nurses like you guys that make those difficult moments so much easier for moms. Thank you for all that you do!

Wow, this has to be the best video I have watched on KZread. I was 19 when I had my first child, had never had surgery in my life and was in labor for 27 hours, had to have an emergency csection and I wish I had known all this when that happened, I was scared out of my mine, shaking on the table just from anxiety and had so much depression after from not having birth the way I wanted, I am 30 weeks pregnant with my second now, and am having a planned csection this time, I'm still scared because I know how much pain there will be but these are great tips for a csection and hopefully things will go better this time around

Yes to #11 so much!! I was born by emergency c-section and I am so thankful my mom was at the hospital and that everyone was on the ball, working so quickly to save my life! Big thank you to all the doctors and nurses who work hard to keep mamas and babies safe and healthy before, during, and after the birthing experience.

You seem like the sweetest most amazing nurse. I just want to say thank you to you and all nurses and doctors out there. You all are amazing,,selfless people. My worst fear was having a c section with my second because my baby was breech. It happened, honestly I hated..preferred normal delivery like I had with my first..but let me you the doctors and nurses were so amazing and I was so grateful for them. They were all so helpful and caring at the hospital I went to. I felt like I was their only patient and they never made me feel like I was bothering them. The spinal was one of the worst parts for me, I got stuck 6 different times so they could get it right, also the gas pains....omg...they were just as bad as contractions..I was in so much pain from the gas. Walking helped me and a lot of tea.

I am going back to school in September to get on the path of becoming a nurse!!! L & d nursing is my #1 choice and I'm so excited! I love your videos, they are so helpful. I hope I'm a nurse just like you in a few years 😁❤️

I had a emergency c section One thing I want to add is after surgery the bleeding is horrible at times , the first time they had me get up it literally was all over the floor like a flood of blood it was so scary And the gas after surgery was intense , worse than labor But all worth it for my healthy baby boy .. who now isn’t so little anymore ... he will be 14 in July

Wow!! Im sorry u had this experience! Im not sure if my c-section was considered an emergency. I went to the hospital for a non stress test and then they said your having these babies in the next hour (twins) but i didnt have the gas pain or lots of bleeding. Sorry u went through that :(

Melanie Moak emergency c-sections are defined as decision to incision in 30 mins or less. Sounds like yours was urgent instead of emergent or STAT. Congrats on the twins!

I had an emergency c section due to preeclampsia and my experience was very good. I actually had no bleeding for 2 months after I had it. Nurse said they cleaned me out completely so that might have been why 🤷‍♀️ I'm having another c section in Feb and I'm actually scared about it even tho the first one went good.

This the 3rd video of yours I’ve looked at today and I absolutely love you!!! You remind me so much of one of my favorite postpartum nurses after I had my daughter. Everything was about this video was spot on, especially those gas pains, I definitely felt those in my shoulders for the first couple of hours 🤦🏾‍♀️😂

Omg! I hadn’t seen this video before my labor, but wish I had. I had an unplanned C-section just this week, and it was so hard on my husband and I; thank you for all the postpartum tips, they were super helpful. I appreciate #11 the most because that’s probably the most genuine and truthful one, and I 100% needed to hear someone say that to me. Thank you 🙏🏽

Thank you for #11. I recently experienced an unplanned C-section after 32 hours of labor and 2.5 hours of pushing. It was traumatic and not the birth I envisioned, and I've been so sad because of it. Thank you for saying it's okay to grieve and for validating my ability to be a mother, regardless of how my baby was born.

I love your last one so much! #11 is such a valid point and something I definitely wish I had been told my first couple of c-sections. I still grieve 14 yrs later the lost of my ability to have babies the way I wanted to but those first couple c-sections were the worst bc I felt like I had failed at doing it right and no one could seem to understand why it was such a loss to me. I love this sweet video and all you shared.

Mama of two c sections here 🙋🏼‍♀️the first was twins and the second was a singleton, I agree and used just about every tip you had here! I loved both of my births even though they didn’t go to “plan”/“preference” and I have three beautiful children! One thing I messed up on was getting a last dose of mess before heading home, I still had to go to the pharmacy (in reality send my husband) and by the time I was home I could feel it all and I thought I was going to die! And I’m not even very dramatic!

This has really reassured me. I’m having an elective section in July because my last birth was quite traumatic. I was getting really anxious and this has answered some of my questions! Thank you!

It is so very clear that you are doing what you were meant to do in life. I have watched multiple births from cesarean to vaginal and while some nurses were lovely, some were definitely not. Truly wish every nurse was as patient, kind, knowledgeable and supportive as you! So refreshing to see someone who is truly passionate!

The last point caught me offguard. My C- section was 10years ago. And yet your words just had a healing effect. Thank you so much.

Thank you for sharing! #11 had me in tears, I cant lie. It is so true and it takes soo much to have a c-section and I think a lot of times women aren't given enough credit for it. I had my sweet boy a few weeks back on March 1st via planned c-section. It was emotional when the decision was first made but once I had time to process it, I was fine. Being in the pre-op room got nerve racking once I heard the prep team doing their thing. I broke down and started crying as I started to walk into the OR...all the emotions came flooding out. My entire life I have waited for my sweet baby and it was finally time. My husband wasn't allowed in when I had to get my spinal..so my doctor (who is such an angel, I absolutely love him! Shout out to Dr. Michael Lim!) and a sweet sweet nurse held my hands as I got my spinal. I was fully numb in 4 1/2 minutes. Like you said, no pain at all just pressure...and even the pressure wasn't bad. The 2nd day after the meds were off, by far the worst. That night I held my baby for about two hours and didn't realize I was putting his weight on my belly. The sensation when I tried to move was a ripping and burning sensation on the side I held him on. Getting up and moving was hard but definitely helped. I didn't pass gas until the second full day. I wanted to so bad but couldn't. The nurses would come in and check my belly with an ever so soft push on my stomach and dang that hurt. Once I got my shower I felt a lot better. I had staples and I would use classic or the rose dove soap to wash my body including my incision and one day I ran out so I used some scented body wash I had...nope never again. It irritated my incision. So only Dove for this mommas incision. I was scared about getting my staples out. Didn't hurt at all! Meeting my baby was the most amazing moment of my life and I would do it all again in a heartbeat. To any mommas out there who may be reading this regardless of how you had your baby or any momma who is about to have their baby...do know, the pain you feel is temporary and you will forever have that sweet angel of yours. You are amazing and you can do this!

I have to admit that I'm deeply thankful for c-sections, because without them I'd most likely be paralyzed and our son would either be dead or seriously handicapped, so I could never accept anyone telling me I'm a lesser mom because I didn't have a vaginal delivery! I'm a heathy mom with a healthy kid, and thank you for reminding me that! Btw I got an emergency c-section after 17 hours of labor, and I threw up in the hallway on our way to the O.R., so I was probably a nightmarish patient for everyone there, but everybody was amazingly kind, funny, efficient, just like you seem to be! So may things went wrong during those three dreaded days spent in the hospital, but I am still thankful and carrying loads of good memories!

I just wanted to say. I had an emergency c-section in May & I watched everyone of your videos before going in for induction & it honestly helped so much. I didn’t expect a c section but I’m so glad I watched your videos. Now I’m pregnant again & planning on another c section, obviously scheduled this time so I’m back watching this again!

Currently TTC and start fertility treatments next month; I’ve been watching all your videos and they are so helpful! Thank you, seriously THANK YOU for this good information 💜💜

So, I am a C-section momma(x3), I just found it funny when you talked about feeling pressure during the delivery aspect. I always describe that moment as dental work. Because being numb from the block all I was more worried about falling off the table. I couldn't feel anything. I knew what they were doing but it felt very much like getting a tooth removed.

I’m happy you mentioned the pulling feeling! With my daughter, the pulling freaked me out!! I looked at my husband and said “please talk to me. Distract me!!!” Definitely wasn’t expecting that!

Yes! The pressure is something else. Definitely the most uncomfortable part. Hard to describe to people that haven't had a CS.

I gave birth 6 months ago (here because if we have another baby my consultant advised I have a c section next time) and your last point genuinely brought a tear to my eye. Your words made me feel so proud of myself for getting through the pregnancy and labour. Thank you!

Thank you so much for this video! I'm about 7 weeks out from delivery and all of your videos have been really helpful in thinking about delivery - but I agree with other posters that your #11 was SO important. There is all this hate about c-sections, so just thank you so much for saying the truth that however your baby comes in to your life (vaginal, c-section, surrogacy, adoption, fostering) you are a parent! That's the magic.

I ended up having an emergency c section at 34 weeks due to preeclampsia and honestly the c section was nothing for me. I was soooo scared bc of all the stories you hear but going through it is completely different. I used Tylenol to manage the pain and was perfectly fine. Using the binder I was given definitely helped make me more comfortable and limited the pain I felt. There are only two things that I wished would’ve happened differently. 1st I didn’t speak to the dr about being able to see my son being born and I now feel like I missed that opportunity to watch him emerge. 2nd bc my son was 6 weeks early I got maybe 5 minutes with him that first night. My husband brought him over to me but he needed to be taken to the nursery for special care. I was on bed rest bc of my bp so my family was able to go and see him but I didn’t get to really spend time with him until the next day so I feel like I missed some bonding. Otherwise everything was great and I plan on scheduling a c section during my next pregnancy bc it was very easy for me.

This was such a beautiful video 🥰 pregnant with a baby boy and having my second c section in May 💙 thank you for being so thoughtful and kind in all your videos. You truly were meant to be a nurse and are amazing girl!!

Oh my goodness this is SOOOOOOO accurate. I watched this before my babies birth thinking "just in case". I had an emergency C-section with my twin sons and I experienced every single thing mentioned in this video. Thank you for being so detailed. Love your videos!!

I was told that having a c-section took the experience of having a "birthing story " from me. 🤔 I'm glad that pregnancy hormones made me more feisty and I immediately ignored that negativity. Many people think c-sections are the, "easy way out." All of those people are uneducated. #11 is so important! You are valid, your experience is yours and important. Grieving is okay. Just remember, you are a strong person no matter which way your baby got here!

L&D and Mother&Baby nurses are such very special people. I’m so grateful for every single one of mine. I really wish I knew that the anesthesiologist was there for me, and that she could’ve been more of a support person for me. First time mom and first time dad, we were both pretty freaked out in the OR. I really could’ve used some encouraging words, if I had known to ask. That would’ve made a world of difference. But I have a healthy boy! He was 10lbs 11oz and 23 inches! One other thing, I wish the staff would have recognized his reflux! Looking back now, it was so obvious. A couple of nurses propped his bassinet, but never mentioned anything as to why. And I went home, none the wiser, and he suffered until his two week appointment with the pediatrician. His doc diagnosed it right away. But it makes me beyond angry that no one said anything! My son was on Zantac and thickened formula, and it was still bad.

I'm loving your delivery videos! I'm not planning on having a c section but life might have other plans and I'm glad i have this video to refer to! A lot I didn't know in this video.

Kristine Jorgensen Same! I was not expecting to have a c-section. But this baby girl decided to turn around butt first at 35 weeks and is still breach at 38. So unless baby girl decides to turn I will be having a c-section at 39 weeks. This is my second and the first one was all natural vaginal. So I’m terrified of having this c-section.

They have I took the orientation with the high risk doctors. The risks are crazy from dislocated shoulder to even accidentally breaking the babies neck.

@@TheRealMeekaa Can you wait until you go into labor? My situation is flipped: unplanned C-section now going for a VBAC. Here is my positive experience to help you with the fear: 🌻 *Labor:* 2 days, no progress 🌻 *Why?* Prolonged Fetal distress 🌻 *Surgery Time:* 15min total 🌻12 tugs & heard Baby cry 🌻 *Recovery was beautiful* 🌻 Breastfeeding, gas, no biggie *My point is: You probably have more time to decide then you think.* So if you feel it's right to wait and hope a little longer.. it's probably fine! *Just ask how long surgery & prep normally takes.* So you can make an informed decision and feel more empowered in the case of a C-section. Breech babies turn and operations go well. So don't be afraid, it happens everyday. Good luck ❤

Little Rookie this made me giggle 😂 after I had my catheter taken out I had nerves and couldn’t pee for over 2 hours when I finally did my body let lose with everything else and my hubby and 2 nurses where waiting. When I came out they were cheering and clapping so funny 😂

Your videos helped me through my last baby who was just born March 2023. I went in and I got to labor for 8 hrs before my emergency c section. It is very scary but I wouldn't have him in my arms without my team. They had him out in just under 6 mins. I want other moms to know your not a failure, your body is beautiful, and no matter how they come into this world you will still be the best mom. ❤️ Also your team and nurses are there for you through everything

I do want to say its so great how real and inclusive you are in your language when you are talking about a support person or significant other it really means a lot you take into account the very many ways people experience labour and the people that might be around

I lost a litre of blood in labour and had placental abruption and got rushed to theatre they had 5 minutes to save my life and my babies life because the placenta was coming away and his heart rate dropped .. was the scariest experience of my life .. ended up having blood transfusions was awful but I thank god that my son is perfectly fine

My sister had 2 c sections, one after a long labor and a second one that was scheduled. Recovery sounds so miserable, but I'm so grateful for this procedure. Crossing my fingers that I won't need it, but always good to be prepared.

No body told me about gas pain when I had my c section. I was SO bad in my shoulders, almost unbearable! Worse than the pain where I had my c section. Thank you for making people aware of this!

Hi! I’ve been watching your “10 Things” series and I just want to thank you for the work you do to give us this knowledge! I am a high school junior who is planning to become a labor and delivery nurse. I am also deaf, and I have bilateral Cochlear implants, so I was just wondering if you have met any deaf or hard of hearing L&D nurses? If so, what are some things you have noticed them do to help themselves succeed at their job? Again, thank you for your videos!

I had a C section and I gotta say that you explaining how they push down on the uterus when the baby is being born like that to me makes me feel better about my c section. That’s a beautiful statement about the c section birth.

I also was extremely impacted and the dr never mentioned it to me or warned me what was going on! The night after my c-section I had to get manually cleaned out and the nurse used an old time enema thing which was like water irrigation. The nurse said I had pushed just as hard as if I were having a vaginal delivery(keep in mind this was the night AFTER a rough c-section) . It was unreal. But thank God for the nurse I had that did all this to me. She went through the same thing when she gave birth and was just an Angel to have that night. We need more nurses like you and her!

I labored for 19 hours and ended up needing an emergency csection, I was so upset, my anesthesiologist put on my favorite songs and calmed me so much during the entire surgery, appreciated that so much 💙
