Had my CBT Today. Was nervous as never ridden a geared bike. At 6'6" the little Honda CG125 kept bashing my knee on manoeuvre training but got passed it and had a Good 1st road ride ever and passed 😊😊 So Happy!

Congratulations to you on passing, how did you find the high way code tests as i've just found out this is now compulsary. is the test multiple choice and how many questions is there in total. this is what i'm dreading and the only thing which i could fail my cbt course on...

@@stuartbrown25 Thanks mate, the Highway code test was fairly straightforward, I was also nervous about that one even though I drive lol, Nothing written or Multiple Choice in our group. That's the next step when moving up to your big bike license with the Theory Test them Mod1 and Mod2. Check with your Training school to be sure tho 😎

@@PeteVXR This will be my 5th CBT course = 10 years riding with no serious accidents to me or others with very little knowledge of the high way code. i just observed other motorists and now wished i bought the high way code book all those years ago and studded it so i wouldn't be in this situation now. i was hoping there would be a mock test with multiple choice on high way code as it would be easier, without this it's gonna be harder damn. it's hard enough remembering quite a lot of the signs a long with symbols, i just bought a brand new 125 with OTR and insurance total over £3,300. i will be screwed if i fail high way code for getting to the gym and work. the pressure is on not to mention stressed and worried....

I've got my CBT booked for tomorrow, really looking forward to it. I'm sure I'll get through it alright, I did one 14 years ago and that was before I'd learned to drive a car. Used to have a 125 but now looking to do my DAS and get my dream bike, an R6. Glad I didn't get it when I was 18, I would have binned it and potentially even myself. Older, wiser, safer now.

Good video but I have to disagree with not having a lesson or taster session pre cbt. Reasons why as an instructor myself I have found that in certain cases I.e the younger generation they have not had any experience at all regarding riding any petrol or electric vehicle ( obviously off road or within a controlled safe area) so it can be very daunting for some that not only have they got learn how to ride but also learn how to ride in a safe manner, and I’ve found on some occasions that before the 2 hour minimum road ride (element e) that some students don’t meet requirements so have to come back for further training,so in my opinion I like to offer taster sessions. But good information given in video 👍

I've never been able to find a sensible answer to this, maybe someone here will know the answer. A light quadricycle can be driven on an AM licence, however a heavy quadricycle requires a B1, people keep saying a heavy quadricycle can be driven on a "bike licence" but I can't see anyway of getting a B1 except for getting a full B car licence. Anyone actually know the score?

A great informative video! A hypothetical question from a non-rider. Full car licence held for 40+ years. I'd love to own and ride a Maeving RM1 electric motor bike. It has a top speed of 45mph, no gears, twist and go. I'd never intend to ride a geared bike. How would a CBT test centre approach this given that afaik geared bikes are used for a CBT test?

CBT facilities also have automatic machines. Usually restricted 50cc machines. It makes no difference as you will then be able to ride any machine up to 125cc.

You can fail. If you do not meet the standard, then you will not get a certificate. You will need to come back for further training. It takes as long as it takes. I have to be satisfied that the rider is safe to be out unsupervised on the road before I put my name to a certificate.

Compulsory basic training ( CBT ) is a course you usually have to take before you ride a moped or motorcycle on the road. The training makes sure you can ride safely on your own while you practise for your full moped or motorcycle test. CBT is not a test that you pass or fail.

Then someone is breaking the DVSA rules and needs to have their licence to train revoked, or your mate is telling whoppers. The road ride element alone is a minimum of two hours. CBT consists of five elements. On a good day, I can get through in about five hours. That's with people who already have riding experience and don't need much tuition.
