I’ve been selling crafts for over 30 years and have been quite successful at it. I mostly make fabric covered photo albums and mostly wedding and baby. Done it all, craft shows, boutiques, online, etc. a big consideration too is space in your home. When you decide what to make to sell, how much space do you have to make the product, store supplies ( both product supplies as well as packaging supplies) and space to store the finished product. You don’t want to make large items if the total space your operating out of is say only a spare bedroom. Also, how messy is the product? If your working in a room like a spare bedroom, you don’t want to be making messy things like wreaths, dried flowers or stuff that needs sanding, painting, etc or involve a lot of noise or obnoxious fumes. Finally, be prepared to shift what you make to what the public wants if you repeatedly get requests to do custom orders for something your not making but fits into the realm of what you do, so keep tight control over how much supplies you buy until your hitting the mark with your customers. You don’t want to end up with a lot of supplies you can’t use thats taking up valuable space and is money wasted. Save packing supplies that come with your purchases and reuse them, it’s free. The postal service also has free shipping boxes available if your product will fit in them.
I’ve been crafting and selling for a long time but tomorrow I’m doing my very first craft fair, nervous and excited at the same time!

Hi Carrie, My daughter is an artist and does watercolor pet portraits. We started selling at craft fairs, farmer's markets, and dog shows about a year ago and it has been a wonderful journey of learning. Two pieces of advice I'd like to share. One, check out the other venders to see their setups. You can learn a lot from others who have been doing craft fairs for a while. Second, check out Hans Meier 3 part video series on KZread. He teaches the ins and outs of selling at craft fairs with many helpful hints. He is a long time woodworker and has gained a lot of knowledge throughout the years. I learned much from watching this video that I have applied to my daughter and my booth and it has really helped us in sales. Good luck

Awww! Gift baskets! Yes!!! What a great way to use a variety of the projects you listed. Thanks for the inspiration. 💞
Thank you Angie for all the great information you give and all you do. Very informative, helpful and gives me inspiration.
I’m new to Cricut. I bought a Cricut Maker 3 last year and am so overwhelmed with everything it can do, I don’t know where to start! I have recently found your channel and am truly grateful for all the information you provide. Thank you for taking the time to explain all the different areas of Cricut with your brilliant videos xXx
I think it’s fantastic that you answer the comments back, especially if someone had a question. Sometimes when someone is just starting out you don’t know where to go for answers. So thank you for being generous with your time. And I love your tutorials. Very insightful and definitely helpful.

Great video! Thank you xx
I am doing my “first” craft show next month, and one thing I’ve learned, my area in small town Tennessee, folks don’t like to pay much for items. I was a macrame/weaving artist long before I started with “cricut” items, and I sold well in S. Florida, but those items never sold well here in TN, so, I’m hoping the cricut made items sell better! I appreciate all the pointers and knowledge I’ve learned from you. ❤

love yours videos! a question , do you have issues when you print a pattern and get white lines between the tiles , i have a grando large format printer and use illustrator then export it in jpg and sometimes i have that problem. (have a rip program , RIMM) thanks!

My guess would be your printer settings. Turn high quality on, high speed or bidirectional off, and pick a matte paper setting.
Hi, Thank you for a great video! I bought a Cricut as well as additional accessories last year and it is still in the box... I purchased for cutting pattern pieces on fabric. I know that there are so many things to do with a Cricut but maybe that's my problem. I am overwhelmed. Is there a video you might suggest for the beginner - beginner - baby steps? I clearly have fear and anxiety of unfamiliar technology. Thanks!

Hi Angie, I always love how informative and thorough you are with your videos. I converted an Epson Eco Tank ET-3760. I recently updated the firmware and am now having sublimation color issues. I uninstalled the printer and re-installed it and finally got the printer to work. I am still having color issues. Do you have any suggestions? I cannot call Epson because the warranty is not validated since I use sublimation ink. Thank you. Sincerely, Brenda Solomon
@AngieHolden

I never update my firmware because of this. I think you will just have to start over with color correction and ICC profiles and try to find a combination that works well for you.

@@AngieHolden Thank you for replying so quickly. My printer asked if I wanted to update and I said yes. Never in a million years would I have thought this would screw up my printer. I will look online for ICC profiles and hope this helps. Just before the holidays is not what I needed. Thank you, Sincerely, Brenda Solomon
I was thinking of getting into cake toppers and cake charms and selling online. I noticed you didn’t list that, but do you think that would be a good business? I actually have a cake business and purchased a Cricut Maker so I can make my own toppers, so I thought it might compliment what I already do. Thanks!

Definitely! Those fall under party items for me. But cake toppers do really well!
Very sound advice.. Always do some market research before hand.. What you absolutely love making may not have a market. I would say if you're not an artist or are not designing your own artwork also factor in the cost of buying graphics.. No to screenshotting just anything off the internet. A subscription to a good graphics' site which includes a commercial licence with your purchases will repay you in quality, variety and is less hassle than fighting a copyright battle!! Also quality quality quality.. No inky blobs or glue spots.. Certainly if the product just has a small flaw you can sell as seconds but that's not what you want to be known for!!!

Making Wearables to sell do you still prefer HTV or infusible ink? Maybe that comparing apples and oranges. I seen both wondering if it better to invest in one or other? Thanks for input!
@AngieHolden
Жыл бұрын
Gosh. Just depends on what you are making. If you can get away with polyester, I prefer Infusible Ink or sublimation. On cotton, HTV or screen printing!
All good ideas. I am currently making holiday gifts for my family, but also making extras at the same time. The extras will most likely get sold. I still work full time, but getting close to retirement. Looking to slowly get into something to keep me busy after retirement. Not sure which venue to use to sell. Any suggestions? I only plan on doing limited amounts of anything that I make......basically 1st come, first serve. I will not be doing custom work. Too many problems in that area.
@AngieHolden

For limited amounts, often just selling on Facebook or Instagram to family/friends/local people works!

How many cards can you cut with one Cricut Joy Blade? ... I have done about 6 cards ... and the blade is tearing and Destroying the cardstock,not cutting cleanly. The machine was an early Christmas present, and I am getting so despondent at how I am battling to make a successful card.
@AngieHolden
Жыл бұрын
That is more than likely your mat and not your blade. Blades last a really long time. Try using a brayer to press your card down onto the mat and get it stuck better.
@MysteStorm
Жыл бұрын
@@AngieHolden - thanks. The card mat is a new one too. ... does this mean I can only do 1 or two cards, and need to replace the mat? Ouch, that would work out really expensive.

You do NOT need to replace the mat. Just press your card down better. A brayer is a good investment to make your mats last as long as possible.
