She mentioned acne as an example, although it can be out of control, it can also I’m sure be controllable under the supervision of a doctor/dermatologist. I’ll give you my own example, I’ve never suffered any acne breakouts, other than some pimples here and there around my period days... BUT the last 2-3 months, my face has been a mess... I think due to hormonal changes and maybe me using expensive comedogenic products on my face. I was honestly losing my sanity. What did I do? Runnnn to get a deep facial done, ask for advice to my esthetician and let’s see what happens. At least I started somewhere to control all the craziness going on with my face, if that makes sense. So again, I’m sure Nikki wasn’t really targeting people with “acne” problems... it was just used as an example in a complete different way. 🙂 I hope my long statement here made sense to you all. ❤️

This video doesn’t sit well with me; it comes across as judgmental, elitist, and unrealistic. For example: acne free skin, eating clean, exercising regularly, getting “enough” sleep (especially as a new mum), are not basic or achievable for anyone falling below a certain fiscal demographic/with unresolved skin issues/wanting to raise their baby responsively. Attractive and wealthy are not synonymous adjectives, as this video implies, whilst tossing in a healthy dose of superiority and judgment. Niki, I normally find your videos uplifting, but this one really missed the mark for me.

I mean, not everyone can work with these tips, but they do help. Above average looking people exist, which means there has to be a bunch of average/below average looking people too. Objectively, not everyone can be stunning and that's ok - not elitist/judgemental or whatever.

Perhaps instead of being defensive, find the most attainable ways to make these rules fit. Only wear black/white/khaki colors. Shop at thrift stores and other places only when you have to. Avoid spandex and pants with no pockets and zippers. Try to avoid trashy/IG clothing ,as it looks a whole mess in real life on most women. Tailoring and good hygiene and good manners will get you far. Avoid tacky or distasteful people/places since they run off easily on you. Wash your face twice daily and moisturize. Cetaphil is cheap at Walgreens. Only eat things w 3 or less ingredients not hamburger helper, noodles and junk. Anything frozen is trash babe. I get food stamps but no one would know it:) Have some pride and put in effort. A poor attitude already looks bad. Exercise in 5 min increments or dance a few times a day. I lost 40 lbs eating better w no exercise in 2 months. Don’t wear knockoff designer and try speaking in a more eloquent manner...I’m broke and tbh you may feel judged but you’re judging yourself dear! Sleep...I understand but at least give her tips a try😉😘

Livvie I understand where you’re coming from, but disagree wholeheartedly. Although I’m currently in the fortunate position to have help, exercise if I so choose, and buy food without budget constraints, I appreciate that is not the reality for many. Unfortunately, taking one’s own position, and imposing privileges or luxuries as “necessities” for appearing attractive, is insensitive, and - unfortunately - elitist. Also, being physically attractive has nothing to do with one’s habits (unless your teeth and skin are rotting due to neglect, and you haven’t showered in days), but instead down to genetics. Some of the most attractive people I know put the least effort into their physical health and appearance.

  • @lisafeldmann9863

@@alikat8221 So, you could realistically implement some of these yet, you're complaining because they are not attainable by "everyone"? Perhaps you could focusing on your own experience instead of accusing others of "privilege" under the guise of championing for "those less fortunate". Btw, "attractive" encompasses more than just physical traits such as genetics.

When she walks by is one thing. He should try working in the same office with her for several hours. We all like different smells and somebody shouldn't force me to smell his perfume, that I might dislike.

Congratulations on being a new mom! I’m 37 weeks today 🥰 I’m so glad you mentioned hygiene .. I can and will never understand both men and women but especially women that don’t absolutely LOVE having good hygiene! I shower and/or bathe AT LEAST 2 times per day.. two days ago I showered in the morning and took 2 more baths throughout the day into the night. I shave everyday or every other day bc it makes me feel good and clean! I LOVE getting out of the shower and applying my face products, hair products, I lotion my body all day long but i enjoy it most right after a shower and I lotion head to toe to ensure I smell good and feel super soft! I can’t always afford my Jimmy Choo perfume so I’ve stopped putting it on just to lounge around the house but that doesn’t mean I don’t reach for something else. I like feeling good and smelling good and fresh not only for me but for my SO as well. Something else I like to do just to feel better about myself is even if I’m just at home relaxing, I love to wear my favorite ring and a simple pair of earrings.

I personally love soft colors and neutrals (I’m older now and going for a different look). I think what we wear is an extension of how we feel or want to feel. I have a demanding life and simplicity in choosing clothes is what I seek-so this is easier for me. I’m also over fast fashion and want more expensive classic pieces that will last for years. If you resonate with colorful clothes and patterns then go for it. Whatever makes you feel beautiful! I also think our personal style is a journey and evolves over time. If you could see the outfits I had in high school! OMG but this is what made me happy-I liked being unique! Clothing to me is a conversation about you and I think it’s important we are true to ourselves and not try fit into someone else’s ideas if it doesn’t feel right. I love Niki’s advice here but this is one person’s perspective :) also want to thank Niki for always putting herself out there to give her opinions. Seems like a lot of people are quick to criticize her. If you feel truly confident in your fashion choices then you wouldn’t take it so personally and remember this is one person’s perspective. We won’t always agree!

    1) Define the word "attractive" because that could be subject to different ideas. 2) Oral hygiene is not an emphasis in some Asian countries and may not even be offered as an employee benefit. 3) The wearing of a belt by a fuller woman just below the bra line makes them appear pregnant. 4) Not showing of too much skin by attractive women: I beg to differ on that. I see it all over magazines and IG. 5) It is widely known that women of Latin descent are not afraid of color, and it actually can be quite flattering on them.

Yes all good points especially related to exercise and nutrition and sleep versus just grooming tips. For really good skin and hair, good diet, exercise and sleep are most important. Also for hair, have regular trims and shaping to get rid of split ends and maintain best shape to frame face. Other tips learn how to handle stress and maintain positive attitude, avoid sugary foods, floss religiously. Learn to maintain good posture even when seated.

I used to perm and highlight my hair (I was young in the 80's, and had that awful 80's hair!). I now only occasionally get a few highlights. What I find very unattractive is a constant form of low self confidence. If an "average" looking woman has self confidence, I believe this increases her attractiveness. I cannot believe you just had a baby!! You look absolutely stunning! And your baby is ADORABLE! Xoxo
