HOUSE OF PIE! My computer geek buddy and I used to hang out there a lot in the 90s. It wasn't just the pie, it was the sign, literally the letter pi. I saw that some years back they removed the pi. That was a sad day. But, as my calculus prof used to say, "Pi aren't squared; they are round." (I know, bad. But it was better than his lectures.)

I love this memory! I didn’t know it used to have the pi symbol. So dope. Most of all, I’m glad it’s still around.
I love the tiny jug and jar. I am a grandma so l know Avon and love some of the things they produced. The fifties were wonderful for women. I know. I lived it. Many of us don't realize it, but women are much more controlled in today's world.

I did not have that Avon set, BUT I so wanted it. Back then, Field of Flowers was my favorite set among their body power. And I loved the idea of a ceramic shaker for my body powder.

Agh, the treasures lost. 😭 I see so many cool ones popping up online. I didn’t realize how fun and funky they were.
I have the Avon vase thingy. It didn’t come with the top stopper which it’s supposed to have- but it was thrifted. I had to get it when I found it because my mother had it when I was growing up. It reminds me of her(she passed when I was 11). 🦋❤️ Your next DIY- put all your matchbooks in a big frame to display as artwork. So gorgeous.

No way!!!! Tarot twins?!?!?! That’s so cool. And yeah, we were lucky it was fairly mild (although I’d never been in one before), so we fortunately made it out ok.
I live in Florida, gulf coast area; been through my share of hurricanes. Luckily only one that was a direct hit; I'm 60 miles inland from the gulf, so yes we did receive some damage from winds but not like others areas in the state have dealt with over the years. We have one out there right now churning away, they're not sure where it's going to hit landfall, probably the pan handle, many go there. It was really crazy to hear Los Angles was going to experience one, crazy. That vintage 70's Avon set is too cute, I'm from back in that era and don't remember it, everyone bought Avon back then, it was the "in" thing. Match books, yes, I used to collect them, sent you photos a while back. They all live in a big glass jar that sits in a whicker basket. Since I was born in the 50's, when I started collecting, it wasn't frowned upon to smoke and all bars, restaurants and places gave out matchbooks for an inexpensive way to advertise. OMG - Love the baby bat tea cup, how adorable, really like that cabinet too. That tea jar/container is super cool, love it! The tarot cat card are pretty cool too! You found some pretty great treasures. Still waiting to see your spice cabinet, I love unique built in's in older places. Good video, nice to see what others treasure.

I’m pretty sure I have a matchbook from the Yaffa Cafe, my favorite all night spot that absolutely influenced my decor sensibilities. Like, draped strings of tiny chandelier fairy lights around holographic plastic wrapped poles and velvet paintings next to jewel encrusted mirrors reflecting Grecian rain lamps… Sadly it closed suddenly a couple (3? 7? Who knows) years ago. That was the real death knell for my relationship to Manhattan. Anyway I think you would have enjoyed the kitschy over the top-ness of it. I dunno if it’s vintage, but if I find the matchbook(and it’s in decent shape!) I’ll send it to you for your “erstwhile locations” collection.
