10 Spanish words that DONT HAVE A TRANSLATION in English || Mextalki

In this video, you will learn some of the Spanish words that are difficult to translate to English, and this is because they DONT HAVE A DIRECT TRANSLATION.
One of these words is sobremesa, which refers to the chit chat people hold at the end of eating. They talk in the table and this action we call it "sobremesa", you will find much more examples within the video.
Another word is buen provecho, which is usually said when people want to wish other to "enjoy their meal" it is a sign of courtesy.
Pena or Vergüenza Ajena is a way for expressing that someone made something embarrassing and you feel uncomfortable because of it. In German, there's a translation and that's "Fremdscham"

    Cuando no hay subtítulos en español, a veces es difícil determinar qué se dice. Especialmente si es una palabra que no sé o que pronuncié correctamente, pero aún así no es como la escuché en Duolingo. Aún así fue un buen video como siempre.

    Friolento puede descubrir la personalidad de una persona también o solo es una persona que se enfría muy fácil? La pueden usar en una oración?

  • @Mextalki

    @Mextalki

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hola @mkptrsn, es correcto, se usa únicamente para describir a una persona que se enfría muy fácil; al menos ese es su uso en México. "Yo soy muy friolento, todo el tiempo necesito estar abrigado". Quizás la palabra que buscas es frío, para describir a una persona distante.

    Bueno, Chicos...me gustó el video, pero fíjense en que mencionaron ser-estar, pero no dieron nignunos ejemplos ni explicaciones. Sería bonito si pudieran hacer un video amplio en el que profundizen en los varios usos de esos verbos. Todo el mundo sabe lo básico, pero un video avanzado que explique unos de los matices más oscuros sería maravilloso.

    Es una excelente observación, Troy. El objetivo del video era únicamente mencionar estas 10 palabras y un muy breve ejemplo con la mayoría de estas palabras. Sin embargo, estamos trabajando en un Ultímate Guide for Finally Learning Ser and Estar. ¡Pronto lo lanzaremos!
