I'm not typically involved in system design/setup but this is still extremely useful info to know for anyone who runs audio. Great video!

@@MichaelCurtisAudio I manage our auditorium/conference center facility at the ua cc campus in the town you said your wife grew up so I’m more into just live sound with an installed PA. Also run our system at church.

@@mark12.31 Very cool! I was just in my wife's hometown this past weekend and filmed a system tuning tutorial in my in-law's home church. It'll go in my upcoming course.

I am a recent graduate and now full time A/V technician. Most of my studying was done on studio recording so when I start hearing terms like the ones you described in the video thrown around I felt very lost and confused. This video is very helpful, even for A2's and Technicians.

Thanks so much Michael for this video. Thanks for responding to the request for explanations of these lingos. Even though you had to use lingos to explain lingos at some point. 😀 But anyways the video was a lot helpful. I hope we'll have a part two of it later. Thanks once more

You're very welcome! Sorry I had to end up using some other lingo to explain the lingo. I'll be more cautious of that in the future.

Thank you for explaining these terms. I still have a difficult time grasping how to tune my system. Muy learning style is very tactile.

Interesting! I’ve always used “coupling” to refer specifically to sources that are in close proximity (such as in an array), but here you’re using it for any summation - would you extend that to, for example, a delay speaker when properly aligned?

That's exactly it. You could technically have two subwoofers right next to each other, but if you invert the polarity on one of them you would have "physical" coupling, but acoustic cancellation. Proximity is a helpful clue to determine where sources might couple, but it's not guaranteed.

Hi its me again, at 13:43 Does this DSP thing or this Meyer Sound Equipment has any different with any other Digital Mixers such as Allen and Heath SQ series? Thanks!

There's some bells and whistles and workflow things that are really nice on a Galaxy, but having any separate unit besides your desk that handle signal matrixing, EQ, delay, and polarity will work. I like the A&H AHM series a ton.

Inverse square law is not 1/2 the level with a doubling of distance. It's actually 1/4 of the level with a doubling of distance.
