Literally only found this out today after 17 years of playing this game: Hardcore Matches in Rebellion or Insurrextion arenas don't have Times Square outside, because they're set in England. They have completely unique outside areas with a double-decker bus and lion statues. Unbelievable.

Funny side effect of this: you know how if you start a hardcore match backstage and go to the ring it defaults to Smackdown? If you try that when you start in the UK outside area the game freezes because it has no idea where to go.

i remember having over 90 minutes last man standing matches with friends. Such a good game

Molly Holly, Jeff Hardy, and Hulk Hogan were supposed to be in HCTP?! I feel cheated.

Some more fun facts: You could achieve the 619 manually if you get opp to lean against rope (this can also be done with Rey's leg sweep). Once done, run towards the opp and quickly press Square then X. This will enable the 619 feint animation he has, but the game will actually recognize the opp on the ropes and place him/her on the second rope just prior to properly get hit by it in the face. Afterwards, you can just do the springboard legdrop by the ropes (square then x) for the finishing touch😉 Another fun fact...Kurt Ankle and Chris Benoit could reverse certain attacks into their submission finisher. For instance, kick attempts can be blocked then reversed into the Ankle Lock if you timed press the attack reverse button then quickly press L1. If successful, Angle will catch the opp leg from the standing position into the Ankle Lock. Same thing applies to Benoit's Crossface accept it has to be reversed punches/hand attacks to achieve. This is very satisfying if you manage to pull it off cause the timing is quite hard. Very cool lowkey feature👍

I remember Kurt Angle reversing my toe kicks into an Ankle Lock!! Its super rare but it happens. I think he did that in SYM also but I may be wrong

Here's one most people don't know about because it is very rare to trigger. But there is a part in the season mode where you're live in Memphis TN and you encounter Jerry Lawler backstage and you accompany him as a manager on the outside in a handicap match. He has a basic moveset with his infamous piledriver finisher. This was the ONLY time you could see him in action.

When it said press start on his intro I actually pressed it

This is my favorite series from this channel! I hope for more

There are a couple glitches you missed that are pretty good. If you do a weapon grapple with the sledgehammer, it’s impossible to reverse and does A LOT of damage. Also, if you want some easy wins in Season Mode, set up a table on one of the turnbuckles and run into it. If you time it right, the AI will grab you and throw you through it, resulting in a DQ. I’m not too proud to say I’ve done it a lot with CAWs haha.

Everyone's aware of the easy win exploit, right? When you play against a CPU in a standard match where you can win via DQ, set up a table in the corner and then just run into it, knocking yourself out on it. Your opponent will usually attempt a move on you that will result in them whipping you into the table and breaking it, which results in a DQ. If you didn't know about this, you're welcome.

I wanna know who Jamie Noble pissed off. He's NEVER appeared in a SmackDown game. Kid Kash and Jamie Noble were a Tag Team, Kid Kash made the game in his Pitbulls attire in SVR2007 and Jamie Noble was STILL left out of the game.

The rocks jumping clothesline would teleport slightly meaning you couldn’t avoid it so it was one of the best moves in the game which was deleted for all future editions. It was kinda like the games very own dragon punch. Slightly glitched so it beats all other moves. Can’t believe they removed it 😭

I didn't like the fact both Hulk Hogan and Jeff Hardy were removed at the time. At the time I wasn't aware that their preset movesets were in the game, but when I did, I immediately created both of them.

HCTP was, and still is one of my favorite games of all time, and definitely my favorite wrestling game of all time. That said, I was so upset when I found out Jeff Hardy, Billy Gunn, and Hulk Hogan were meant to be in the game, but got cut. I understand Jeff and Hogan, seeing as how they got released for different reasons, but Gunn? He was active on the SmackDown roster with the Mr. Ass gimmick at the time of the game's release, so I was so confused why he wasn't included.

There's also a Glitch where Michael Cole can be an Active wrestler in Season mode. He was Tag team Champions with my created character for over a year before losing it at Wrestlemania to John Cena....And MICHALE COLE!!! and Yes, if you watch the match it would actually show 2 Coles whoopin ass LOL

Another glitch you can do, is in a triple threat cage match. You can get out of the cage and get weapons from under the ring. To do this you need 3 people and have the springboard leg drop set on at least one character. Have player 1 knock player 2 to the mat and then do the springboard leg drop. Has player 1 is about to spring of the top rope player 3 throws a punch. Player 1 should fall to the ground on the outside and be able to get weapons or just run around freely. To get back in the ring just run at it.

In a TLC or hardcore match, grab a table and throw it onto the announce table in the bottom right-hand corner of the ring area. Now climb onto the announce table, pick up the other table, hold down-right on the D-pad, and press x to swing the table. If you do it right, your wrestler will drop through the announce table and be standing waist-deep inside it. You can now move through the barrier separating the crowd from the ring area by running directly right. Once outside the barrier, you can move through the crowd, although they're all intangible, so you can't interact with them. You can also run outside the arena entirely, although there's nothing out there other than empty, black space. You can walk back into the ring area any time you like, as the barrier is intangible when you approach it from the outside.

Loved Thugonomics Cena. Once he won the title from JBL he got lame.

This game and no mercy are my absolute fav wrestling games of all time. Loved Sean o hare in this game. I could have swore that Cena , Mysterio, and Batista 1st came out in Wrestlemania XX before this game tho. I only know cuz I had that game before this one even came out lol

Fun fact: If you get Hogan and Warrior into the game with Gameshark, and then download a model for them, you can actually use them with all their stats and everything.

From what I heard on podcasts like something to wrestle with. Hogan was pissed off at his WM pay and shortly after left. There was a plan with him and Vince to do a hair vs mask match in 2003 at The Great American Bash since the original plan was for that ppv to return that year. He was also not happy with creative he pitched a story how he wanted to beat Brock Lesnar in a match just to get his win back from the 2 years before

Eric bischoff was also a good character in wcw/nwo revenge because he controlled like Joe brusier from world tour but with a karate style move set

Here's another tip to get into the crowd in any match. Irish whip your opponent into the barricade jump on the apron by running and press square and if your superstar has if I remember correctly it's a diving spinning wheel kick and you will be in the crowd. It may take a few times but it works

KZreadr @yumboy11 has been doing a play through of a modded version of HCTP with some of the cut characters added back in the game. Legend Hulk Hogan has an overall of 95. Ultimate Warrior has an overall of 94.

First fact is technically wrong, WWE All-Stars I remember did a terrible job at censoring the logo ,in a bunch of the video packaging for that game multiple times they just forgot to censor the logo by accident.

In the season mode there is a small chance that Jerry the Lawler or Micheal Cole would ask you be there tag partner in capture the tag titles.

Here’s one me and my brother picked up on this. In order for this to be noticed you have to have your character lose a lot in season mode. One day I was playing and my brother noticed that HHH was skinny. I had just lost the us title and my stats were still low. Well after playing for a while I noticed that when my characters stats were up and he won more matches he got bigger in size meaning more muscles. Im trying to buy the game again but I have a Japanese ps2 so its hard for me to show this again.

there was some copies of wrestlemania 21 for xbox that had the wwf reflective seal on the cover, if you look the game up on ebay, you can find a couple

@@chuletaguizzao7163 I never even noticed that thanks for bringing it to my attention but I did notice that the WCW cruiserweight championship is the wwe cruiserweight championship (which I think is something they actually did you can look at backlash 2002 for reference) but on the screen it shows the wwf light heavyweight championship I just find that weird and it confused me when I got the game because I completely forget they did that with the wcw cruiserweight title but also cool to see a WCW title in a WWE game at that time you can definitely tell SYM was released during that transition period

@@xJC2x Yeah there's also the same thing on codebreaker on the PS2 gives you access to like all the NPC's in WWF JBI through SvR 2007 and hidden stuff in general. You should look more into it if you haven't before.

I believe that this was also the first and only WWE game to have Sean O'Haire in it. :D

Wish they would do some minor graphics updates and re-release it.

11th fact: You can get out the training room. Pick up character who has speed 9.5 or 10 like example RVD or Rey Mysterio. Go to the treadmill, tap running button (X button). Get off from the treadmill and go back to the treadmill but this time press right button down and start running again. The trick is that you need to get off and on treadmill but holding right button and tapping X button. You should go through treadmill and now you can run outside the room. You're welcome!

I can explain it like this: - Pick RVD or Rey Mysterio (or character who has speed ability 9.5 or 10) - Go to the training room - Go near to the treadmill - Hold down right button and tap X-button If it doesn't work, get off and get on to the treadmill. It should go through treadmill and then you can move around in the training room.

There is a combo finisher can be applied, Stunner & Pedigree, steal or set the finisher and if your mate times right with gut kick then do the finisher again, as well for some throwing grapples, if the opponent thrown and your mate has Undertaker’s big foot move, after 17 years, HCTP still my fav wrestling game, I’m still hoping that PS5 one day being able to play PS2 games so I can play HCTP instead of 2K shit!

I've been replaying these old games over the past year or so (SYM - SvR 07) and the refs LOVE to get in the way. And if you accidentally hit them they will get in your face even more lol

This Game needs a remaster !!!!!!

Does anybody know how to perform the legdrop on the apron? After whipping the opponent o the apron lying there? I can only perform the elbow drop. Help appreciated!

Do you mean Taker's leg drop to an opponent lying on the apron? It's only Undertaker that can do it, or I think Rob Van Dam. Everyone else defaults to an elbow instead. Code-wise though it's connected to their wrestling stance. Give a CAW the stance of Undertaker, The Undertaker (old school) or RVD and you'll find your equivalent apron move automatically becomes the leg drop. I think it works if you change a built-in wrestler's move-set so they have one of those stances too.

@@Somnogenesis Thank! So there is no menu in the moveset do change that. That is what I was looking for. I thought it is possible to select between those two when creating a wrestler and thought I missed the category somewhere. The legdrop is much cooler, RVD always did the spinning one on the apron or guard rail in real life.

@@thelostmotel209 Yes indeed, that's why they gave the move to RVD too - it's not a spinning one in the game of course, it's exactly the same move as Taker's, but it was clearly a nod to RVD using that spinning apron/guardrail legdrop in real life. And no, you definitely didn't miss anything in the menu options, there's no other way to get the legdrop move, if I'm remembering it rightly. I'm 99% sure anyway that it's the wrestler's in-ring stance, so the only way to get it is to change to the 'Undertaker', 'The Undertaker' or 'Rob Van Dam' stance. If I hadn't read somewhere years ago that that is the connection, I would never have guessed though! I believe the same thing applies to the double-team counter moves. If a wrestler has Undertaker (or The Undertaker), Kane or Big Show's stance they can counter a double-team move with a double chokeslam on both opponents. Everybody else, if I remember, just hits a double clothesline on them. Again, there's no way to choose this separately.
