Fem Au Ra player (the alternative cat girl of FFXIV.) I have to admit when I consider using my fantasia, it's to either go Hyur (either clan) or Elezen. Just wish female Elezen heads were slightly larger. Males are fine.

As a fem elezen main, my favourite expansion is shadowbringers but, yes, Ishgard to me is my Elezen Warrior of Light's home. Not just cause its where most elezens are situated in, but in terms of msq, no place has ever been more significant to the Warrior of Light's journey than in Ishgard. They may have zealots, biases and nobles, but once you earn their trust, they would keep you in their hearts and win you over with a warm hearth and good hearty meal. In truth, I just want to be a tall lady irl, but over time, the supposed 'funny' runs, the broad shoulders and the specific choice of glamours that works best became part of the charm that made me attached to her. Funny thing to note, is that a lot of elezen players are actually more casual players who show up every patch/expansion release day, so expect to see them pop up in the incoming patch cycles. Not to mention, depends on which DC you're on. NA dcs have a good chunk of elezens spotted during roulettes. Oceania? Not so much, let alone JP dcs, but I'm not too sure about EU dcs. Then there's also a trend among a lot of elezen players not hanging out in city states most of the time. You'll find them more hanging out in their fc/personal houses/apartments or run around doing quests or raiding.

Female elezen as well, and Shadowbringers was for sure my favorite too! but hw was where I really felt like I started to enjoy the story. (maybe because ARR fetch quests are so boring haha). But who didn't love Nidhogg.

As an Elezen player I love this video! heck the portion where you were showing off how good male elezen look in armor that model looked almost exactly like my male Elezen haha. Glad to know you have a friend who has a good sense in style!

I actually know several Elezen (I play an Au Ra) and it is funny to run into people with them going "Woah!" I also ran into a shiny Elezen once: a blue Elezen with white hair. My mind shut down with how gorgeous they were

4:43 "Cover them up you shameless elf! You're distracting the healer!" Me, the healer main, clicking on people and 'examine' them during boss fights. I feel very called out.

As someone who picks elf in every mmo I play at this point, I'm glad I finally landed and stuck on a Duskwight fem Elezen, even just in the rp scene I get so excited when I see another Elezen :D There was an Elezen beach party sometime last year and when I went I was blown AWAY by just how many people had shown up, it was lovely ;;__;;

I went from Miqo'te to Elezen about two years ago and I will never go back My Fem Elezen is so attractive, so unique, so perfect, I could never consider changing her... Fem Elezen and Fem Viera are tall, graceful, and by far the most attractive races ;P ((I am also a heal main, so well done there!))

I chose Elezen day 1 and I was able to look past the neck rather quickly and am very understanding with the lore. Every time I warp to Ishgard I get this warm fuzzy feeling of " I'm home! " Which is why I bought my Apartment there to.

Duskwight elezen players are so rare. It's like seeing a shiny version of a legendary pokemon.

I main a Duskwight Elezen, and I would kill for more Duskwight representation in the game itself! I wanna visit the caves they live in!

I've played a Femelezen ever since I started. Never have noticed the neck thing. Part of the reason was that when I started on the trial back in 2019, the only races trial players could pick from were Hyur, Elezen, and Lalafell. But now, I'm so attached to her as my WoL... Best choice ever! Plus, after meeting a certain mother of certain twins, I immediately decided that my WoL was her long lost twin sister (and therefore the twins' long lost aunt - which is why the girl twin looks up to her so much... And yes, I know their names, just avoiding them for ppl who haven't played the game yet).

Wahh one of my elezen friend was obsessed with Ishgard^^(still is:) When we didnt have Ishgard Houses area yet,she dreamed about it so much^^she created her own little Ishgard in her Mansion^^

ive never felt so flustered in my life, from an elezen lover and enjoyer, i thank you for this ♥ Also #9 freaked me out because i started to main healer when i first changed to an elezen and ive been an elezen healer main ever since. The accuracy is almost spooky, but impressive!

FINALLY I FEEL VINDICATED. My Main (and like most of my alts) are Elezen and frankly i work hard to make them look stunning!

I made my WoL a duskwight elezen because I really like dark elves and the drow aesthetic. And coming from D&D, I was kinda worried that she'd be super basic and common. Instead I found myself getting tons of compliments from other players in roulettes or the major cities telling me how cute she was and how rarely they see elezen, let alone duskwights. Feels really nice.

[happy giraffe noises] I am an Elezen main whose favorite expansion remains Heavensward, but it'd be my favorite even if I played a different race. So much to love

The neck doesn't bother me as much as the run animation (at least on the female Elezen). It feels like the animation was done by hand/manually, vs. the run animation on other races such as the Miqo'te, which has a more fluid "motion captured" look.

I've been playing Elezen since the beginning and I don't intend to change that...☺❤👌

Addition to point 10--some people might feel like with all the Elezen NPC's that there's an over saturation in Elezen rep, but Elezen are the native race to Eorzea--everyone else came by later! It makes sense that there'd be more Elezen than any other race, and that ties people who play Elezen to better try and rep the truth of the in-world gamestate to another stereotype about Elezen players. Specifically, where they say Elezen players love the lore more than the average player! As a Duskwight Elezen player, I also get to make my dark blue hued boy have white glowing freckles and have it _work._ Do I gotta say any more? Just....make sure to use emotes other than /clap and /dance to express your enthusiasm. Both of those emotes are some of the funniest, most half-assed animatons I've ever seen. Great for sarcastic assholes. (DOUBLY great if you want to make Garleans. Emet Selch himself uses an Elezen body base, as can be seen with his animations. You'll get the height and the stature of a Garlean with an Elezen and the Star of Nezha.)

Male Elezen recently turned Hroth (but really considering going back). Yes, I really like the fact that it takes time and effort to create a good looking Elezen. Yes, Heavensward is my favourite expansion, I if I roleplay, I'm a stubborn Ishgardian (and I have a house there). I like the more serious, elegant and kinda restrained emotes.

I started playing FFXIV around 2 months ago as Miqo'Te (of course I chose catgirl!) and since when I received phial of fantasia from MSQ, I've been thinking about changing race to Elezen... Well, long story short - I watched the video and now - finally - I'm running around as Elezen!

playing Elezen makes the long, flowy robes and coats look great, but going for an armored look is definitely difficult. helmets will always have those big goofy ears on them, so I go for gunbreaker, whose signature look is actually quite fitting.

I made a Duskwight to look much like my original Night Elf from WoW, if Elezen had a better run animation, they'd be more played.

Thank youuu, I'm Wildwood Elezen :D once i turned to Highlander, but few days after that I missed my long ears and looong noble neck, so I'm an Elezenish woman again. My FFXIV favourite expansions are Heavensward (obviously), and Shadowbringers. I 'd like to see a video about Roe enthusiasts :)

I play Fem Elezen. Didn't know it was so rare. Neat. You're definitly spot on with their animations being a perfect fusion of elegence and sass.

You missed 2 most important reason people play elezen. :P 1. Their smooth long legs 2. Their poses I play femzen for the above lol

My wife and I play an Elezen couple making our home in Ishgard, and you're right - we get compliments all the time. As far as favorite expansion, Heavensward, but that might be because that's when we started playing XIV.

My main character is a male Elezen for two reasons, one of which is the obvious "it's the least played race (and gender in this case too)". The other is that the original version of that character goes back to the days I was playing Neverwinter Nights in multiplayer servers. NWN is a D&D ruleset game but the multiplayer was unique in that players could create their own worlds and settings with the editor and then host them on a server for others to play and one type of popular server was "PW Story" or "Persistent World Story". Those were worlds where you played in-character as if it was an ongoing, living D&D campaign. My character started in one of those along with some friends, we had the chance to play through several storylines that were Dungeon Master hosted and have our characters grow and evolve through the events. And since other players weren't tethered to your session, that means you'd often come across unexpected encounters and the likes. Nevertheless, my originally elf character went through a tremenduous number of changes, both physical and psychological, one of which granted him a spell (though a taxing one to cast) that allow him to plane walk and visit other worlds. That gave my character the in-character ability to have a persistent story even when I moved from one server to another later on and reused him. I had to level him all over again when I did but that was explained as the price for casting the spell. Eventually though, the character would end up dying but instead of having a new life in a D&D world, I simply had him pop in FFXIV but this time as a blank slate. And so, it is why my main character in FFXIV is a male Elezen... because in his finale state before he died, he was a very tall, elf-like being. And since Elezens are naturally tall? Well that's a natural fit for the character.

I've been playing my Elezen guy for awhile (and plan on it till Dawntrail, then changing back to my Miqo'te). This video speaks absolute truth, especially the Elezen NPC's part. They're a gorgeous race if done right and I especially geek whenever I see a Dusk (💙) in Limsa! I would 100% never go back to Miqo'te if we had a shorter version of them though, like the twins height! I like self-inserting myself into the characters I create/play and playing as a tall girl just doesn't feel right.

I have 2 Elezen characters and yes Heavensward is my favorite expansion.

I’m new to Final Fantasy XIV. (So far I love the game!) I just got the game in February, and I’ll be honest, the first thing I chose was Elezen, a Duskwight Elezen to be exact! I didn’t have any reason, I just thought it looked better for my character. Plus I wanted to try Black Mage and thought a Duskwight Elezen would fit the part. Little did I know that I chose one of the rarest kinds in the game. I still to this day have not seen another Duskwight. And I’m also the only Elezen in my entire Free Company. So yeah, you start to feel how unique you are when you are an Elezen. Especially a Duskwight one like me! I love this video! I think it’s perfect to show people that Elezen’s shouldn’t be given such a bad rap! They are very cool looking and in my (biased) opinion, they are one of the most unique looking races in FFXIV. (First goes to Lalafell obviously!)

One of the very few elezen duskwight here. I started as a miqote, but switched during stormblood and never looked back. I wanted something more unique and I definitely got it. The neck also forced me to be more thoughtful about my glams and the choker options that typically get ignored.

this elezen main enjoys this video ❤ I wanted to add to the glamour portion. Elezen have one of the more unique body shapes, so you reallyy have to tailor glams to them. It forces you to understand shape dynamic at the very least. You’re right, so many endwalker glams have been blessing us. Ultimately, you want something that accentuates your neck and shoulders. Doesn’t necessarily pad onto them, or bulks them. You want that slim tapered look, it makes the elezen shape pop superr well.

As 2 out of my 3 characters are Elezen, I can vouch for how fun Elezen can be.

Personally i as a roegadyn main would like to see roegadyn next.

Your glamour is amazing!! I’ve been an Elezen male since day one, even my alt is an Elezen (female). They are the runway models of Eorzea. Everything looks stunning on them. And it’s true, you can tell if players have good taste based on their character. ✨

Yep, one of the things I quickly discovered with my Elezen is that high collars, raised pauldrons, ruffles, neck guards, or other glamors that add a lot to the neck and shoulders work wonders for mitigating the 'giraffe' meme, as it minimizes the effect rather significantly. So of course that means my Elezen is usually in FULL PLATE ARMOR! THE FURY GUIDES! ISHGARD! ISHGARD! [PALADIN NOISES]

Extremely looking forward to the "10 Reasons to Play a Hrothgar" video whenever it comes out! Your content is always enjoyable to watch!

Oh and also, Elezen are absolutely magnificent, males are typical main characters from Interview with the Vampire, including Armand^^

Elezen player weighing in. My favorite Expac is Shadowbringers. Though my time playing late ARR and early Heavensward was some of my favorite time in this game. Mostly because of the community I found to do synced content with, and just generally getting into the thick of the game. I almost made a lalafel as my main. But the look of that bunny girl in Limsa advertising her "Services" just made me reconsider. I'm very much enjoying being able to take my character seriously in cutscenes. I'm a Duskwight because Dunmer are the master race in Elder Scrolls. I'm sure this is just normal, but I really feel like my character fits in well with the other scions. It doesn't feel like just a bunch of actual story characters and then the custom one. Even more impressive considering I play a healer, and start breaking out in hives if I don't have a large brimmed Wizard hat on at all times. (Including non-caster classes)

I can't imagine my character as anything but the Mi'qote tomboy she's always glammed up as, but Elezen do look great.

Part of the allure of Duskwright IS the rarity... but I just love the cave elf aesthetic. I tend to do them in most games

I just started playing a few days ago and i selected elezen since i like elves in fantasy settings. I had no idea elezens have such low population. I’m an ESO main player and i play bosmer which is the smallest race there. Quite opposite since elezens are so tall. No matter, it’s the closest race to elves in ffxiv like you said. I’m loving your channel btw. Great one for someone like me who’s just starting in the game.

I love the small part where you create yourself in CK3, a nice little easter egg ^^ And I wanted to play Elezen at first, but then I saw Au'ra and was instantly in love. But I still love Heavensward

My friend has a male Elezen alt. That guy is too godsdam handsome. A low key role play chatacter, his lore is that he's an Ishgardian from the Brume who left the city for want of a better life, even if it means his brume friends will ostracize him, and learning arcinima will not win the high houses' favor. Whenever I see his gorgeous face and awesome clothing, all I could think is "Sasu ga Ishgardian." This person recently fanta'd their main to fem Elezen and their love for the succubus look, combined with the Elezen's elegance, adds a new layer of kink to her succubus glam...

Aymeric was and still is my first Elezen crush! Still waiting on that second date. Lol 🌹🍷🧝‍♀️

My first character was an Elezen. I eventually fantasia'd a few times and ended up with Au Ra, who I adore, but sometimes I really think about going back to Elezen or making another character an Elezen. I kinda have a thing for the elf race in games... >.> Also would like to see one on Au Ra next :)

I’ve played Elezen, Bnuy, Miqo… and the Elf neck is normal compared to other races. Her shoulders just dip a lot. *the hairstyles fit differently on Bunnies, meaning they can wear hairstyles with bangs that don’t clip through most headbands. *But of course bunnies can’t wear most hats… even flat ones…

Chose Elezen when I first started, and never once changed. I still have my free fantasias the game gave me. And my favorite expansion is indeed Heavensward. :)

As an Elezen late ARR when I got to unlock Ninja, Stormblood for Samurai. Shadowbringers for Gunbreaker.

I've been about everything except a Hyur. Always go back to my tail. But, I do have a nice alt who is Uriangette - a gender flip of Urianger because I love talking like him ;)

As the self-proclaimed King of all Elezen I approve this message. I played an Elvaan in ffxi (my first mmo) so when I went to xiv it was a no brainer I’d play an Elezen. Heavensward was my favorite expansion indeed because I got to hang out with all my Elezen-kin. It feels good knowing I won at the character creation screen.

my elezen is tank, so most other races can easily spot the important one. always follow your tank ! he/she takes the beatings of enemies so you stay alive :p

As a heals main, my motto is, 'you pull it, you tank it'. I heal tank first and DPS can expect a heal tossed off sometimes, but not unless the tank is healed up. Stay behind your tank and don't pull unless you're prepared to die. XD

Elezen here too. Love this haha. I do see more and more of our kind every day though.

Thank you for calling out the neck thing. It is an issue on ALL races, not just Elezen. (It's because they put the bone to move the neck smack dab in the middle.)

As a shiny duskwright Elezen lady my favorite was shadowbringers!! Also this comment section makes me happy seeing more elezen players!

Was Elezen but been happy with how my Viera looks now that I have trouble deciding to change either back or to a different race(au ra maybe) for hats(whenever they give us Zero's and the last dungeon maiming head gear)

I pretty much play an elf character in any game where it's possible for me to do so. I play a fem Duskwight Elezen. My favorite expansion is Shadowbringers. In the four years I've been playing only ONCE in a dungeon roulette have I been in a party of all Duskwight Elezens. 😆 One of my proudest achievements in 14 has been resisting making a Catgirl. 😉

I'm glad someone finally noticed the neck problem isn't exclusive to us. Also true about the compliments, I'll usually get at least one tell each time I AFK in Limsa. Regarding my favorite expansion, it's Shadowbringers, but Heavensward is a very close second.

As an Elezen who mains Dragoon, thanks for making this. And my favorite expansion is Hea....Shad...I don't know, I can't pick but playing Heanvesward as an Elezen Dragoon was very immersive and cool1

My main and two of my alts are Elezen and, while it took me a bit to get used to the tiny head and long neck, I love them. I heartily agree with everything you said, especially as an Estinian stan and healer main. Though, yes, I did do HW as a Dragoon/White Mage and Dragoon is best class for that expansion. XD

My first/main might be Hyur male, but my other FemElezen. I had no idea when I made her how rare it was. So rare that if I ever get paired with another one while on her in roulette I mention it. Things like armor or long dresses do look so much better. Also it's Shadowbringers.

Heavensward really hit hard as an Elezen, I genuinely felt like one of the bad guys because it was my kin who started this stupid war. It's my second favourite expansion (my favourite is Shadowbringers), but only by a small margin. Also, as a healer main, I appreciate point 9 on your list 🤣

HONESTLY that thing about remaking your ffxiv character in every game w customization is so relateable. i refer to it as 'isekai-ing' my boy k'tala LMAO you're so right about it just being more immersive somehow

The best thing about male elezens is the /clap emote. It's a slow slap. Very passive aggressive and sarcastic. Very lore accurate as Ishgardians come off as elitist.

Like many things in life I never noticed the long necks on elezen, and now I can't unsee it.

Finally someone that talks about making the good use of that neck space when it comes to glamours. It really is the trick to make even the most casual of outfits look amazing on them. I don't really get compliments other than for my sense of fashion and how some things actually don't look that bad on elezen, you just need to put in some time and effort. If anything, it's FFXIV that got me into playing elves in subsequent games especially with the greyed out skintones. I just think they're cool!

I recently finished Heavensward for the first time with my Miqo'te main but my husband is only just now getting into Heavensward so I actually made an alt & bought a skip so I can run Heavensward with him as a male Elezen Dragoon I decided that he was originally from Ishgard so I think its going to be super fun to explore the expansion from the perspective of a character who is extremely connected to the city and culture there
