I was really hoping that David Johnston's picture would end up on here. I am a current geology student and we've talked about him in several classes. There is a lot of respect for him even to this day. A lot of what he did prior to the eruption helped minimize the deaths by warning people to stay off of the mountain as much as possible. One thing people don't really realize is that geology can actually be a rather dangerous line of work. Rock is unyielding and the earth doesn't care about the fleetingness of a singular human life.

Regarding the Tiffany Robinson picture, I think it’s important to note that her adoptive parents did not know the full extent of Tiffany’s origins. They were duped just like everybody else. As an adult, Tiffany has made it very clear that her adoptive parents are good people and great parents; she loves and considers them “real” parents. That said, Tiffany does not forgive her uncle for taking her mother away from her. However, she does find solace knowing that her mother was murdered; she did not complete suicide, leaving her infant daughter alone in the world.

As an adoptee myself, I know that my parents adoption of me was 100% legit. I cannot imagine what that poor woman went through. I believe that her uncle truly wanted to make his brother and SIL happy, but apparently he was also a complete psychopath. I feel so sad for Tiffany; knowing that her mother didn't just commit suicide and abandon her must have been cold comfort to her. 😔💔

Incidentally, Brady and Hindley were caught because they tried to induct Hindley's brother-in-law into their "family". The brother-in-law agreed to help them dispose of their latest victim, went home, had a cup of tea that he failed to keep down, then told Hindley's sister what happened. He went to the police the following morning (with a screwdriver in case Brady tried to intercept him) and told them what had happened.

My brother Josh knew Zach and Addie. So did many of my friends. Your story is mostly right, he hadn't intended to eat her but dispose of the body and that their drug use in line with their alcoholism (his PTSD from military and hers from abuse she had from a past BF I am sure didn't help things either) were a recipe for disaster. She tried to kick him out of the flat many of times and they both were on the lease. NOONE saw this coming, and it still haunts those that lived in the Quarter (what we call the French Quarter) to this day! Cops still get phone calls about people seeing a man jump to his death - I know because I am one that made one of those calls 8 yrs ago. Thank you for not sensationalizing their story and respecting when telling it.

It's been a rough week. My mom has been in the hospital, I haven't been allowed to see her due to covid restrictions. I haven't slept in my own bed, I didn't feel like listening to music the first few days. I've been very down this week but thank God, my mom comes home today. I'm so happy to get back to normalcy, taking care of her, sleeping in my own bed, drinking tea before bed, dancing to my music, reading, listening to LetsRead. I don't think things will ever be quite the same after this week. But I need to be happy, and I need to be strong for her, and one source of happiness is this channel. So thank you, Joel. The Regina Kay Walters pic has haunted me since I first saw it years ago. It's not just the fear in her eyes that got to me but rather the buildings in the background. She was so close to yet so far away from civilization, people who could save her. The unfairness of it all that's shown in the pic still gets to me whenever I see it. She's having her life snuffed out while people so close to her get to live and cannot help her. Obviously this sentiment is true for most murder victims, they are murdered so close to other living people and yet nobody can help them. This pic, however, drives that point home. It's one thing to know something intellectually but it hits differently when you actually see it with your own eyes.

He buried them with layers of lye all over them. Lye is a dangerous alkaline that’s equal to sulfuric acid, only on the other side of the spectrum. Lye is usually in powder form and doesn’t typically burn when put on the skin, but once it gets wet, it’ll feel like someone is putting out a cigarette on your skin. Dumping more water on it only makes it burn worse. If you ever get lye on your skin, you need to pour a mild acid, like vinegar, to deactivate it. Many murderers use Lye when burying bodies because it dissolves all the moist tissues, leaving only dry bones behind, so there probably wasn’t any smell from the bodies he buried under his house. I think it was under an addition added onto his house which had access to the crawl space from the basement of the main house. As soon as he showed the picture, I knew who that maniac was next to the First Lady. It shows what a conman he was that he was able to get near the First Lady.

Just wanted to say that I love and respect your channel and podcast. Your voice is the best and your intro's of music jingle are the best with all your visual effects. Also love your ending with the birds chirping. Anyway just want to say that I rely and depend on your material first at night to help me go to sleep but now I listen to all your videos at work every single morning and I even re listen to your stuff. It's just so relaxing and calming and informative as it gets me through my early mornings that start at 3 and 4am. I look forward to every M-W-F video. I first started watching Mr.Nightmare back in the day and then my wife started expanding scary stories videos and over the course of time we found Darkness Prevails, Swamp Dweller, Uncle Josh, and most recently Southern Cannibal which I also enjoy. But your voice and style and the way you narrate your stories is my favorite and just wanted to let you know that what you do here makes a difference in my life and others as well. Your talent and way of entertainment is just great! As horrible and scary as your stories may be that you read, it's educational at the same time and very relaxing as I listen to your voice through my AirPods at work every morning. Thank You! A+++ Thumbs Up! and already subbed a long time ago!!!

This is what humans just do; we believe we are infallible and SO intelligent, but our reckless hubris causes us to crash time and time again. Look at The Titanic, Bruce Ismay was so impressed with his creation that he was ABSOLUTELY certain that his design was "unsinkable." Well, apparently it wasn't. We STILL to this very day are just as fallible as we were back then. At least we can hopefully learn from our mistakes, check our egos at the door and understand that humans will ALWAYS be imperfect and bad things are going to happen regardless because we NEVER will be perfect.

Their murders happened before I was born, but they are still the worst murders in British history and the first case of this kind in England. The story of Regina Walter's is one of the most morbid and horrible dark stories I've ever seen or read about. It was horrible what he did to these 2 young people. When I read about this the first time I felt dark for the rest of the day. I guess it's because not only did he kill her but tortured her for months. My gosh, what she must have gone through. I am so glad that she is in heaven where nobody can harm her ever again. Shes in the arms of our dear lord up in heaven. That I think is the absolute worst thing you can do to another human being. What a sick demented evil man. He should have been subjected to the same horror he put this sweet young girl through before he killed her. God Bless this beautiful child in Heaven!! I would if I could take her hand and tell her everything is going to be alright!

The Tyler Hadley story has me so fked up right now. How anyone can be pushed to the point of killing his own parents is just unbearable. That story has me questioning "why" as well. I saw his parents. They look like my parents. They look like anyones good loving natured parents. All they ever did, for all we know, was care and some act from the devil took over their son and turned the whole situation into a nightmare. Im not a religious person btw. But all im saying is the more and more i listen to these true crime stories from LR, Disturban, or Horror Stories it's just unbeleivable how human nature can be so cruel. Like, what drives someone to manifest such acts of horror? This is a scary world yall. I pray for everyone's mental health and sanity because i think a majority, if all, inhumane homicides can be heavily attributed to mental health in the first place. I feel it's the main drive. But we also have come to find that drugs and alchohol heavily induce it too, perhaps 10 fold. You know ppl get frightened of ghosts, goblins, aliens and monsters. But man, mental health and the pure insanity that can overwhelm human beings is the thing that scares me the most. We are going crazier and crazier by each generation. And man, i just hope everyone's ok out there.

I agree, we have a lot of people struggling with mental health issues including myself. I'm not going to hurt anyone but there are a whole lot of people that can't take care of themselves ie: homeless etc.. The stigma associated with mental health needs to be lifted and we need more research into psychiatric meds. More affordable mental health for anyone that needs it.

I do know tho, that controlling every tiny aspect of a Teenagers life when they're growing and have a desperate need to stay making their own decisions. Making mistakes. Learning and starting to have your own life, friends and life. And I truly Believe that doing that to a growing Teenager can be so so bad for their developing psyche. I know from personal experience. And their excuse is the Teenager is smoking weed or something therefore their control is justified they feel. But not allowing them to grow and start taking responsibility for their decisions instead of taking the option of even making their own decisions away, is so so detrimental. Even worse than doing nothing at all.
