Today was a special day for my wife and I today was my wife’s ultrasound appointment and and what we saw brought tears of happiness to us my wife and I found out that she is pregnant with twin daughters. My wife’s dream of having twins came true today and I’m very happy our twins daughters are due in September. Joel you are the man.

Story 4 made me absolutely furious beyond belief. What kind of low-lifes will gang up on a 13-year old kid? WOW just WOW. I'm sure they felt like SUCH big tough men for harassing someone much younger smh 🙄
@disgruntledmum4916

Same. I loathe how people are able to hide in plain sight - I've recently experienced it with a co-worker being arrested for murder. A man I've known for over a year, and he is able to do that? I reflect on every interaction we have ever had, looking for clues that he is abnormal and nothing seemed wrong....

The kid on the subway story has me crying while I drive. I’m a mom of two boys, ages 9 and one month. I’ve got a mom heart and stories about children upset me. On top of that incident, he mentioned he was abused as a kid 😢 I could never IMAGINE doing anything to inflict hurt on my two angels. I wish I could take that baby in my arms and just love him. He didn’t deserve that. Why do horrible people get to be parents and wonderful people who DREAM of having children can’t. Ugh. I cried all my makeup off 💔
I don't think I'll ever get tired of these spooky stories lol. I've started falling asleep to the stories lately. I suffer from severe anxiety, and if my room is too silent I begin to overthink things and my paranoia often keeps me awake. Having something like this, a calm voice reading interesting stories at night helps fill the silence that makes me so anxious, and really helps overall. Keep doing what you're doing, man ^^

I can completely relate, it's like when I lay down to sleep, I can't find it, bc my brain won't stop thinking about memories from at least 15 years ago. Or something that happened that day I just can't stop playing on repeat. But the way he narrates these stories, thinking about the time or in. Now when I listen to other people, I can hear the audio pause and pick back up. His stories are seemless. They are incredibly well done and terribly soothing. It's like magic.

It’s so impressive how Let’s Read controls his voice! How true crime stories differ from other reading.. how his control of his voice makes us feel, empathy, cold, sympathy and so on… And how different work from 5 years a go vs now is! Every year Mr Joel perfects his skills to flawless readings! Impressive! Thank you!
I like that the poster of story 4 didn't go on to talk about forgiveness. It doesn't matter how much time it's been, or how much you've changed since... your victims remember.

Most of the stories here are greatly exaggerated. Any professional would mark the tellers as paranoid and delusional individuals, who think every night shift clerk is out to get them. if you honestly think they make you feel more 'aware' then you have a problem with your mental health.

I loved when my mom would tell me stories about her childhood, I have a vivid imagination, I use to picture myself being there, it didn’t matter how many times my mom would tell the same stories, they was always fascinating to me💝, and as I grew older, and grownup life happened to me, it didn’t stop me from visiting my mom every weekend, and listen to her talk about her life to my children/her grandchildren, now that she has passed on, and I’ll be 64 years old this year, I’m so happy I found your channel, I listen to it when I’m winding down before bed time, thanks for keeping me company.❤
Story 3 is horrifying to me, for a variety of reasons but the main one being that something extremely similar happened to me last year when I was driving home from work at night. The only way I escaped was by pulling into a (very large) remote cemetery & losing them in the maze of roads. Always wondered whether or not I was targeted for some reason or if it was totally random

Story 2: these kidnappers/r*pists/serial killers etc…they thrive off the fear . I guarantee you had the woman started to panic cry plead etc…it wouldn’t have went that way.
@wildling_wolf

Thank you! Not only do they get off on your fear, 9 out of 10 are cowards. If you make a big fuss, they usually get flustered and take off. If you out creep them, they won’t even try to mess with you. If a jerk were to try and freak me out from a vehicle? I’d pop out my pocket knife, plaster a big crazy grin on my face, and start bouncing up and down, saying “Yes! C’mon, c’mon!” Guess who’s gonna be hauling ass out of there? Not me. 😂
That last one is hilarious. I just know those Marines chuckle about that story from time to time.

Bullies in #4 most likely had a bad end. No one respects any of them. If they did manage to fit in to normal life (and some due thanks to the Dilbert Principal) they are still bullying their wives, children, co-workers, and especially anyone who calls them boss. People may feel forced to be nice to their face, but no one respects them. More likely, these bullies ended up dead or in prison.

TBH I have to say: it serves the cops in the first story right for assuming he was the attacker until she attacked them, too. Even then they tried to charge him. He should have sued them.
