I'm from Victoria, born and raised. And I did hear about Michael Dunahee as a child, about his kidnapping, I remember seeing his missing poster at the school I went too. I think I was 5, but I do remember my parents talking about his disappearance, though I didn't really understand what they were talking about at the time. I feel bad for his parents, they never got any closure, no clue as to who took their only child. It's been around 30 years since his disapperance. It's awful. Parents keep an eye on your children, especially when you let them play outside. Talk about stranger danger. Bad things can happen, even if you think nothing bad will ever happen to you or them, which is bull cause it's possible.

Regarding the first story, I’ve lived in Victoria bc my whole life and I remember my father always telling me that story to keep me aware of stranger danger. To this day that field behind Blanchard school has givin me the creeps. The field never was green just forever a massive pitch of dead grass that people always seemed to avoid. A few years ago on the field across the street of the school DJ Willis, a teenage girl was found in a shallow grave. It’s an unsettling part of town
I literally just got started but I had to say, the description of Michael's TMNT shirt ripped my heart up. My son was dressed as Raphael for Halloween. I can't even describe where my mind goes because of the work and such I've been in but it always hits me hard when reports are describing children's clothing. 😔

When I was 6 at Christmas our new home was burglarized..My mom shot at them, almost killing me & yeah, they stole everything! Inc my sister's "My lil ponies". There's more to this & I'm working With a KZreadr to turn it into a full horror story..There's also a story in progress of myself at a convention where I was almost abducted by a "crazed smiley face" cop. My 15yr old son is drawing the artwork. At the lake when I was older my younger sis was throwing stones..big flat stones into the water & nobody noticed that I was hit & almost drowned..the scary shcool guard was actually a "student councelor" that ended up "hooking" up with several of my friends. He was also on the news for a number of things I probably can't repeat here with underage boys. The creepy part is that it happened YRS later When I was outta school but none the less my girlfriends & I had ditched school one day and we saw him following us throughout the entire day..whenever he got close we'd take off running thinking we were going to get in trouble..I'm so thankful my gut instinct told me to run!

I have extreme PTSD episodes that usually get worse at night. When I can’t sleep, I use Joel’s videos as some form of anchor to keep the episodes from getting out of control. His voice makes me feel calmer, and the mysteries behind the stories give me a chance to focus on something else besides the PTSD episodes. Wow, the Beatrice story is so infuriating, how did it take them so long to figure out that it had to have been someone she knew aka someone that worked at the school, the police missed so much critical time by overlooking that. Especially when stabbing is known to be an incredibly emotional and personal killing method like come on someone clearly was targeting her or targeting her because of her father working there like............her poor parents

It's kind of frustrating to hear about the parents who just leave their kids unattended and think that because their community is safe nothing bad will ever happen. There are terrible people everywhere.
Hated me elementary school days so much I purposely made myself forget most of it. I do remember getting chased by a big ass dog while I was walking home a few times and twisting my ankle trying to get away from it.
I dig your intro music. I know you've had it for a minute now but I haven't said anything about it until now. It has a very horror movie vibe to it and I like it.
I’m glad you included the Cokeville miracle story, is so remarkable and you autta check it out. They made a movie about it and some of the teachers are the actual kids who survived the whole situation.
I remember David Young i was about 9 or 10 when this have been. There was an angel in that room that day

Hi Mr. Read! I was wondering if you ever do another true crime video would you look into the case of Alejandra Flores from 2001. She was kidnapped from Walmart in El Paso, T.X. xoxoxo
3rd Story might be an inside job (to know the school layout and place where no one goes, murder done where it can't be seen by CCTV).
For parents, these stories are the literal definition of horror stories. They are hard as Hell to listen to, but these cautionary tales need to be told. Parents can learn from these stories and be better equipped to try to prevent the same thing happening to their kids.

I had an experience similar to story 2 in the 3rd grade. Tornado came close to hitting the school, we were all sheltered in the halls. Of course I found it absolutely fascinating, I'm an amateur meteorologist now. We were in that hallway for 2 or 3 hours. We were let out at about 12:30 pm. Went home and not even 20 minutes later a rotating wall cloud passed over our home. We stayed in the basement at the house for a good little while after that. Nothing much ended up happening though. There was a tornado that touched down about 10 to 15 minutes from the school. I live in Dixie Alley though so it's kind of expected that we get tornadic thunderstorms. It was 2011 or 2012 at that time

Definitely scary and so sad 😢
Some peace while the world goes insane.
As a father of 2 small children, they are never out of my sight. The world isnt all sunshine and rainbow. There are sick fucks out there. That mother shouldn't have left a child so young to go off on their own for even a minute. Sad that little boy was never found. Parents... stop sitting on your fucking phone thinking this will never happen to you! It can! Save that Facebook session for home.. your childs life is far more important then social media. I note this because I see it all the time at playgrounds and child events. Also dont let your kids talk to strangers in shopping centres, teach them to ignore strangers and politely ask those people to respect that. Teach them a safe word that only you and they know. So anyone claiming they know you and try luring them away won't know. Teach them to make a lot of noise! Stranger danger stranger danger! Sorry for the long rant. Stay safe.
