Don't forget dirt biking/off-roading for summer activities. Just half an hour from the middle of Kelowna gets you to the Bear Creek trailhead, arguably the best riding area in Canada.

Great video. You covered the basics. As a resident here for nearly 30 years myself, I must say the most unfortunate and most concerning Con that you forgot to mention is the extreme increase in crime as well as the very large downtown homeless situation. I love my Kelowna, but the homeless & crime has gotten out of control and is ruining this great city.

Could you mention a city that does not have these problems? Apparently it is a common problem in British Columbia and Alberta or not? 😮

Good list .. mostly pros for sure ... but for cons you forgot to mention it is a small isolated town far away from the much larger major urban areas such as the Greater Vancouver Area (GVA) and the Calgary area ... so it is lacking in big city amenities etc ... also the amount of pesticides and herbicides used in the surrounding vineyards and orchards permeate the environment and drinking water/lake ...

For the idea of isolation from Metro Vancouver, I cannot go along with you as in my view, this city has a lot of opportunities just because of its distance that keeps it away from there, which gives it space to grow. The time to becoming a new metropolitan area is just a time of matter. If you look at Mission, Maple ridge, or even Abbotsford and Chilliwack, people are hesitant to move in since they are in proximity of Metro Vancovver.

Hi Kevin, I am an approved International Student going to Kelowna this August 2023 with my family. Do you also have houses for leasing? I need a 3 bedroom home that is affordable for me as a student. Out of all real state repesentatives I have watched, you are make me feel more confident about the experience you have in Kelowna. I hope you can answer this one.

I wouldn't even consider moving to Kelowna unless I was totally financially secure. Kelowna is a very expensive city, the cost of living here is through the roof. Plenty of work in the service industry ( if you can survive on $ 15 - $ 18 per hour ). Rental accommodation ,, average cost to rent a two bed, two bath apartment $ 2300 per month plus utilities. Crime ,, well we are just about the top of the list when it comes to stats for cities. The disgusting mess and filth down on Leon will make you jump backwards ,,, plenty of needles in City Park, drug dealers, hookers and pimps ,, plenty to go around. Health care, good luck finding a family Doctor, plenty of walk in clinics ( which most physicians prefer, more lucrative ). I'm retired and I golf three days a week ,, was great while it lasted, be aware if you are a golfer that there are no memberships available in any of the local golf clubs. Average green fee $ 125.00 no including cart. Keep in mind that the majority of the so called " pros and cons " of living in Kelowna are posted by realtors and the majority of them do not put forth the real picture, not by any means. I've found that the high majority of postings about living in Kelowna are deceptive ,,,, indeed deceptive to say the least.

Amazing how people keep flocking here and we don't have enough homes for all of the people that want to live here and currently live here!
