You give us insight into pieces most of us will probably never see in person, yet you give equal treatment to ones most of us could afford. You are KZread treasure, brother.

Love that you gave the Tissot Gentleman a shout out. It was my first automatic watch bought thanks to your review.
Zelos Aurora Moonphase is beautiful with the dial shown in this video. Zelos have been killing it for years...

I have the Mido Multifort Gent and I love how easily I'm able to wear it up or down depending on the occasion. A visual feast to look at close up too. Great collection mentioned here 👌
I have two Gentleman. The green dial (my wedding watch) and a black dial (both with the crosshairs). You are absolutely right about the indexes and their finishing. It was one of the first things I noticed when I first handled the watch. The green dial has become a semi-daily wearer for me, and I couldn't be happier with it

Doesn’t the green ruin the outfit?cuz it’s well green 😅
Love these videos and your no pressure approach to explaining the watches. Thanks
I was in Japan last week and stopped by the Grand Seiko Boutique. There's a new Astron with a blue dial that just POPS and spoke to me, so I picked it up. It's nice to see a bright blue dial, as it seems "Midnight Blue" is the rave, and frankly just looks black in most lighting situations. It fits this category as is under $1000 and is the ever popular integrated bracelet style. I never thought I'd pick up an Astron, but the dial is phenomenal!

I looked up what I think it’s the blue Astron you’re referring to, but it’s listed at $1,600. Regardless, it looks fantastic.

@@eyeheartsushi2212 it was under 1K when it was all said and done - 20% discount from the AD (I didn't buy it at the boutique), plus duty free for me. I know I'm still in the honeymoon phase, but I really love this watch!
Recently bought the Farer Mansfield; beautiful unique green shade, no complication, green strap. Number 3 in my rotation after Grand Seiko SBGA007 and Tudor BB58
I really like the silver dial on the Tissot Le Locle Powermatic 80. It’s simple, has some texture, and is a classic beauty.

I've always placed the Tissot Gentlemen well above the PRX fashion watch. That Mido with the vertically patterned dial is quite handsome.
Personally I own Seiko SRPF41 a.k.a Matcha dial. It's so beautiful to just look at. You mentioned older sister, SRPF53. Good to hear Seiko Cocktail Time family in this video! ❤

I love my tissot gentleman! Absolute class watch. Anyone will be happy with it. 11/10 would recommend.
That Nodus is pretty 😍
You been killing it with the vids lately. Keep it up! Every time you upload recently, I find myself saying "I didnt know I needed to know this, but I wanna know it"
Great vid Teddy. I have a the green Gentleman and its such a great watch for the money. Looks great - keeps crazy accurate time and makes me smile wearing it.
Teddy, glad you shone your spotlight on the “Negroni”. I own one a love it’s dial colour/texture and size. I wear it for evenings out/parties and get lots of comments ⌚️👍🏼
The Tissot Gentleman (in blue) is one of my favorites I own. Dress up, dress down, spec and strap monster, killer dial, etc….for the money it’s hard to beat.
I finally got a Tissot Gentleman (Black) after putting it off a for a while. Great office watch and those faceted indices really catch the light. Simple, reasonably priced, and well executed.
Thanks again for all the great videos and info. I splashed out of an Gentleman with the Anthracite dial for a “I got a new job” present to myself, and haven’t taken it off since I got it!
great deep review like always! bought my blue Gentleman today after watching your review, my first swiss, I think I'm off to a good start! I'm looking forward to putting it on my wrist.

Congrats. I want to get one as well.
I recently got a Tissot Ballade and the dial has a couple of different finishes. Very nice watch for the price.
I have a green dial Tissot Gentleman and it is mesmerizing. It's the best looking watch in my collection
Gorgeous dials! As for that mido, only time ive seen something similar done is eith the Maen Manhatten 37
Hallo Teddy, different dials that all have something unique to them. It shows what one can get in this price range that is also special. Some brands I have not heard of, so great. Thanks again, and as always, love from Switzerland 🇨🇭
I would call out Lorier who always have something in the range with an interesting dial. You have the Falcon with that waffle dial, the Zephyr with that textured guillochet dial, and the yet to be released Astra looks fantastic with that circular lume track.
Awesome line up! Some really cool dials here!
Yes, the Tissot Gentleman!!! The panda version of the Bulova Lunar Pilot will get you some attention.
Another great video Teddy! I do hope that you will consider doing a video of watches between that 44-45mm watches for those of us that have bigger wrists….
Definitely would like to give a shout out to the Zodiac Olympos. In particular the green dial version, absolutely stunning. I got mine through Teddy Baldassarre and I've been enjoying it everyday! Thanks Teddy for a beautiful watch and great service!
Hi Ted: I have a Tissot Gentleman (in green dial) and it is a beautiful watch that punches way above it's weight. Though I understand why Tissot is putting time and effort into the PRX. I wonder what plans they have for the Gentleman line? Maybe...a GMT???
Much appreciated, great idea for a segment.
The dial on that Presage SRPE41 is beautiful.
New to watches, but I am now obsessed with the Zelos!
I got the Tissot gentleman powermatic 80 silicium for my 15th birthday from my dad and I love it so much
All great watches. I own 2 Tissot Gentleman and a brand new PRX 35mm. The finish is exceptional. The Gentleman has nothing to envy to a Longines Conquest that costs more than twice (1300 vs 600). If the Gentleman was made in 39mm or 38mm would be THE perfect watch. I think people look down to Tissot because of the price.
This video made me buy a seiko srpf53. Dont care to much for the bracelet but that close up shot 8:11 was incredible and made me do it. I have a green dial gentleman and it is very gorgeous, hits well above it's price point. Dials are very important to me

I’m actually want to get one of these two..what do you recommend??
I just saw the Farer and the Baltic in person at the Windup watch fair. They are both very nice, but that Farer Sorbet really stands out. Such a fun and surprising versatile watch. It might even be considered a modern classic at some point.
@Puerbile
11 ай бұрын
Same here, in person really does both justice. The Baltic reminds me of a Cartier Crash with the elongated numerals, but the 3D effect Farer achieves on even the non-lume Erebus Midnight is super impressive - the second hand for example really pops
The Citizen NB1060-12L deserves to be on this list too

Shhh want to keep that one a secret, such an incredible dial. Really wish I could see the white dial in person too
If you can't get your hands on a Zelos, I recommend the Selten 00.04 Aventurine. Absolutely stunning dial. Also the RZE endeavor glacier models are like a GS White Birch dial in a titanium dive case. Great go anywhere piece.

Interesting watch
Really like the Seiko Negroni, and the Baltic. Never heard of Nodus before, but I’m off to check them out now! Wonder if they ship to the UK…🤔
I think a lot of Brew dials make it in this category too. the retrograph and the metric are pretty awesome dials for under 1K
These nodus and zelos watches are really growing on me. The Baltic is also really cool but I already have 2 micro rotor watches; a horage supersede and a VC overseas dual timer.
Teddy wearing a down-to-earth PRX soothes my soul
Discovered that Hamilton Pilot Pioneer on the channel, ordered the blue version a few days later... Fantastic everyday watch, indeed a very striking dial!
Seiko SSA413 is very forgotten in these lists in my opinion. The open heart acts as the epicenter of the ripples reminiscent of ocean waves on a zen garden. It's beyond beatiful and understated.
Citizen is missing on this list specially with the NB1060 models. Gorgeous dials and case finishing! Well under $1000
I absolutely love my Gentlemen. Puts a smile on my face every time I strap it on. Have the Rolex and Grand Seiko equivalents so it’s not a money thing, it’s a watch thing. They really should release a three fold clasp version with a brushed finish and colour matched date window maybe. Have a PRX Quartz too, sorry to burst the hype train bubble, but it’s simply not in the same league (even if it was the lesser spec’d Auto) as the Gentleman.

I tried both the PRX and the Gentleman and came to the same conclusion as you did.
I’m so happy to be over this stage of becoming a collector, you buy everything and sell at a huge loss. Maybe pick one or two and save for the inevitable upswing in the desire to get upstream.
@eyeheartsushi2212
Жыл бұрын
I know what you mean. I skipped that stage and went straight to Tudor, Omega, and Breitling (although I might sell my Breitling). Still, the Tissot Gentleman is a very good looking watch.
The Nodus Unity is very nice. The color matched ceramic insert is there as part of the aesthetic. It's not a five watch. It steps up perfectly from the edge to the crystal and will deter desk and similar scratches that steel can't. It feels great on the wrist. The applied markers surrounding the cutouts on the dial are also a Nodus signature. They did this on their Duality years ago.
The Nodus Unity looks like a vintage sofa. I love it!
Really enjoy watching your videos Teddy. Although to be honest, I sometimes spend as much time trying to google the shirt you are wearing as I do the watches you present us with. This video was no exception, though I struck out in the end.
Tissot v8 is underrated in my opinion. Quite big for my wrist but love the dial
I really dig the Bulova Lunar Pilot but that thing is huge! At 43.5mm, the thing would be a spaceship on my wrist
I love my green dial Gentleman Powermatic 80, but I have heard that the movement cannot be serviced, is that right?
Man the thumbnail choices you have for this video make for a sweet affordable and impressive three watch collection.
I just love the Max Bill Junghans Form A dial.
Looking for my first watch this really helped
Teddy: "it's amazing to see the aventurine dial at the Zelos' price point" Me: I truly recommend you guys give some of the Chinese manufacturers a chance, because they can deliver unbelievable value for money and their watches are not always rip-offs of classic, popular designs. Great video, Teddy, I always like to check out some great looking dials.
That farer is super cool!
Hey Teddy the Seiko cocktail or orient bambino? Or do I need both?
Would have liked to see the sprg61k1 getting some love, great video as always!
Hello, what do you think about the Seiko Alpinist Rock Face Edition?
Hello! Very good content and superb video as always with options that a common mortal can wish for 😊 what about Maen Manhattan 37? Never seen one but what do you think about their cotes de Geneve dial?
Fiancee got the Resolute Sorbet for me for our engagement, I love it. Looks awesome with the octane strap
I love my Negroni and have it as a part of my office rotation
What about the upcoming Direnzo DRZ 02R Aerolite? Bowl shape, sandwich style dial with an interesting case from a microbrand for under $1000

Wow that one looks great!
The blue Khaki Pioneer is especially striking.
I just bought a 38 mm Hamilton Murph and I absolutely love it!
Thank you Teddy! Always the most interesting about the Watch world in a nutshell. You are the #1 horology journalist!
Hello!! What do you think of the Hamilton Khaki dive automatic! I bought it for my collection as I just started my watch collection.
Great stuff, though my vote would go the Pantheum Automatic Oculus, a dial inspired by the ancient Roman Pantheon. It's amazing for that price point.
Im so gonna grab a nodus gmt not mentioned here but what a charming watch. Worth checking out
I’m curious what you think of the brand “Louis XVI” i think they are gorgeous but I’m new to watches.
The nodus reminds me of vinyl siding
Do you know if Tissot will release the seastar 36mm automatic sometime soon?
I also have the Frank Sanatra Boluva automatic! Its great for dressing up!!
I have the tissot gentleman, Powermatic 80 and can genuinely say that it is the best every day watch I’ve seen. That includes allowing you to get into Swiss watches for much less and if you’re on a budget still having something to execute everything you need at the beginning of a career. And I say that as someone who’s been in his career for more than 20 years.

@@Bkesal14I was also debating the Prx but ended up picking the gentleman. I picked it mainly because it goes with more. I think that the Prx was just a little bit too dressy for me.
now this kind of video is i love
I would petition the Seiko SARX055 to be on the list! “Snowflake” dial, titanium case for under $1k!!
Citizen NB3020-16W and the other silver foil variants are hard to beat under $1000 imo
Awesome recap!
I hope the little Seiko snow flake dial has a 34mm version 🔥
Really great list.
Helm...awesome dive style watches with Seiko automatic movements, sapphire crystals, 6425 depth ratings..wow. Plus they come with a metal bracelet and a nato strap. All for an industry beating price of $345.00 with shipping. A couple models are less and one is more but still around $400.
I wore my Gentleman all last week. So classy. I would have to go to an Aqua Terra or OP to replace it, there isn’t much in between. Even wore it for an interview. I have the blue dial and silver dial, both are excellent. I have a BB36 which is also excellent and more versatile but not as blingy.

I’m thinking about getting the blue dial Gentleman.
Hi Teddy , greetings from India. From the brands shown in this video , only Seiko and Tissot is available in India. I really love that Baltic though. In the future please try making these videos region specific if possible.
Is there going to be a smaller tissot gentleman 80
I wish you would add the lug width to the spec sheet.
I’d consider the Seiko legacy Urishi enamel dials such as SARX029. Can’t do much better for the price. Can still find new old stock for under 1k.
Great! Thank you.
The Gentleman is a class apart. Wife wanted my wrist to have an open heart, so I got the open heart version (wife happy, I happy lol). Couldn't agree more that it is arguably the best for under a 1000 dollars.

The Tissot Gentleman is in my future. An that Seiko Negroni is now on my “want” list.
I just purchased the Farer Dunham and I just can't take my eyes off the dial. Farer hit it out of the park with the Dunham.
Take a look at Paulin Neo, around £400 and part finished by AnOrdain.
Any chance we could get a similar video but for dive watches?
Definitely think the Seiko SARX055 is a worthy edition to this list. Titanium case and bracelet, textured dial somewhat reminiscent of GS dials.
