@@fannycraddock99 yeah its so true it gets a lot of negativity for the drugs, weather, location, and how bad and run down the main street Union street is especially when its the main shopping street and now with how they have wasted so much money on the new Union terrace gardens is just a complete waste of money as that could have been used too really make Union street glow and make it a nice street to walk down etc.

Aberdeen keeps popping up in my KZread feed since my Ancestry research brought me to Scotland, Aberdeenshire, the Earls Marischal and Dunnottar! How Id love to visit and explore there, but I'm now 75, living in Vermont USA, and doing most of my travelling on KZread 😊

I just Loved Aberdeen, for 2 years and above, when use to travel to extreme corner of all the First bus trails cults to bridge of Don to garthdee drive, use to walk across the city for days and week to explore the city. Even after 12 years I can recollect each and every street and corner of road to all the building, Aberdeen is just a beautiful jewel which cannot be narrated in words, will try to settle in my old age

As an Aberdeen native who’s been living abroad for 26 years, this brought back so many memories - especially the Torry Battery and Girdleness lighthouse where I played as a nipper. I also used to play around Seaton Park and St Machar Cathedral was our school church. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Other great places to visit in Aberdeenshire is all the castles surrounding the city. If you have time, Balmoral is not that far for a day trip. There is Dunottar Castle in Stonehaven, Crathes Castle, outside of Banchory, Fyvie Castle in Fyvie, allegedly haunted - was featured on "Most Haunted" Series, and many more Some are complete Ruins like Dunottar and Slains, the others are in pristine condition and do tours. Slains Castle was allegedly the inspiration for Dracula, and Dunottar was used for the movie with Mel Gibson and Glen Close, a Shakespeare play called MacBeth.

wow thanks so much for showing Aberdeen in it's true and beauty i have lived in Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen city all my life and i absolutely love it. I first lived in Banchory which is a beautiful town 18 miles from Aberdeen i lived there from when i was born until i turned 18 and from then i served in the British forces for just over 3 years then unfortunately i was medically discharged and when that happened i moved in the city and have been here ever since and like yourself i love Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. So do you still live here or have you moved away? But thanks again for the lovely video i am just away to watch your Aberdeenshire video and i have also subscribed, Take care and stay safe

I'm somewhat disappointed that you didn't show Footdee (Fittie) the first social housing in Aberdeen dating back into the 1600's. It orriginally had two squares but they built a middle row to meet housing needs. Footdee or Fittie to the locals is opposite the Torry Battery and approching from the other direction just past the Cadona's Funfair and heading to the harbour. Another worthy place is Provast Skene's house dating back to the 1600's (I may be wrong on the date) but Aberdeen council when demolishing St. Nicolas House in 2014 built another monstrosity covering the Provast's house from view. It's still there you just need to cross to the other side of Marshall Collage and go round the back of the glass monstrosity and you will find access to the house. The Duke of Cumberland stayed here for 6 weeks on his march north to the battle of Culloden Moor on 16th April 1746. Other places of note are The Art Gallery on Schoolhill. There are other places in the city facing to the harbour is Provast Ross's house which has all sorts of displays and information about The Oil Industry.

Both are beautiful… I would favor Aberdeenshire for 2 main reasons. One being sunshine - the east coast statistically gets more sun. The second is accessibility to the rest of the UK is quicker and easier from Aberdeenshire.
