Fun fact: The show's creator, Stephen Hillenburg, was a marine biologist. When he pitched the show to Nickelodeon, he brought a fish tank into the boardroom, and explained what was living inside. He then placed a cartoon drawing of SpongeBob into the tank and said "This is SpongeBob, the star of your new show."

I think "Grandma's Kisses" is another very relatable episode. I'm sure some of us at some point have felt that our friends or other people would see us as "babies" just because we love our families and have tried acting more grown up, only to end up not liking the treatment we get for acting more mature.

Though, a nitpick of mine, but I didn't like how the people, including Squidward, were still laughing at SpongeBob like bullies at him hugging and loving his grandmother at the end, as you'd think that at the finale, they would get the message of the episode, making them think about their own families and instead be all "Aww" at SpongeBob and his grandmother loving each other.

Something I just want to point out with Patrick in Rock Bottom. While he does objectively screw up at Spongebob's expense, we do see him genuinely trying to make things right at the very end of the episode (as we saw in the video). That is something he DOESN'T do when he's at his worst as a character. I think it shows that while the mistake was his infantile brand of bone-headed, it was an honest, forgivable one.

Another note about day/night from rock bottom to the sandy ocean floor near Spongebobs house is probably because rock bottom is supposed to be a deep ocean trench, and the deeper you go into the ocean, the less light there is. It's probably the same day when Spongebob gets back, but the depth difference accounts for the light difference. At least, that's how I thought of it.

"The Bully" is also relatable in another way - teachers just don't help you and don't see that someone is bullying you. And after all, bully didn't get punished at all. Instead you are punished for standing up for yourself, so basically, you can't do nothing against it. And I think that I am not the only one who experienced this in elementary school.

There was an episode in Season 6 ("Overbooked") that I relate to on a personal level, when SpongeBob tried to be "in three places at once" to support his friends, and overextended himself so he wouldn't disappoint them. Also, I felt _very_ seen by "Best Day Ever." As an Autistic person, I often become frustrated at changes in plans. I especially relate to the part when SpongeBob reached his breaking point because his day didn't go as planned, and his friends reminded him that his day was meaningful because of the good he puts out in the world. I find episodes like "The Card," "Appointment T.V," "The Pink Purloiner," "Bummer Vacation," "Missing Identity," and "Picture Day" relatable for the same reason.

I think the most relatable Spongebob episode is called "Artist Unknown" which it's about Spongebob going to Squidward's art class. I think the episode recalls on how to express our creativity and deal with criticism as an artist. There is a channel called Made2express who covered the topic of the episode perfectly. He has some meaningful and philosophical takes on cartoon shows. His motto is: _"EXPRESSION, NOT IMPRESSION."_

I can understand SpongeBob's struggle to stand up for himself in "The Abrasive Side". Sometimes you just feel like you need to keep the peace and not cause a scene, and it ends up at the expense of your own well-being. It's hard to figure out a balance between keeping the peace and seeing that your own needs are met.

@@TheKabuto90 I understand your perspective. Looking back, I see that the relateable parts of Squidward come out when he has to play “the straight man” trope to the extremes of SpongeBob, Patrick, Mr.K, and usually the ‘extras’ of the show. His sarcasm too. I don’t relate to those narcissistic traits. I do like my self care, and while he is sometimes a parody of the person who indulges in self-care, his desire for peace is usually warranted. What he wants most of all is to be alone, and as an introvert, I get it.

I can't remember the title, but I think that the episode about Squidward's "happiest memory" should at least be an honorable mention. Sometimes you just feel lost in the void of society. Sometimes you just lose track of everything in your life, from memories, to friends, to family, even to emotions. Sometimes you find yourself in an emotionless slump, and feeling just about ANYTHING is all it takes to get out of it.

I found the episode "I had an accident" on Agoraphobia somewhat weird, since having to have been homeschooled most of my life the outside is something I never really saw as a necessity, there's time when I think of being inside my home for the rest of my life, just ordering food when I need it and talking to loved ones virtually on skype and such, but I decided that being outside lets you not just meet new people and see places, but also helps you connect more to the world, seeing that there's more to life than the small place you live in, I truly thank Stephen Hillenburg for this episode, and of course I thank you phantom.

The 'Listen to the song again fully' trick if you have an earworm is really helpful. Again, like Strider said, it is usually a single part of the song. But because your brain can't remember the rest, it creates the earworm, looping the same part over and over to try and get you to remember the next line to finish it off. By listening to the song fully once more, your brain will finally hear the finished lyrics and be happy. And while the song may be stuck in your head, it will either be a longer version, meaning you remember more and so it'll be easier to remember the rest and it'll pass much quicker, or you memorised the full thing so you can just complete and be on your way.

I can relate to the spongebob movie. you see when I turned 13 I thought that being childish is wrong but then years later I realised that shutting down my childish side was not good for me att all. To me I would put the episode Big Pink Loser on here. Because there was always a thing that your friend has that you don’t have, whether it’s the newest toy, or like in the episode an award. And you not having it makes you feel less special then them, and eventually you might get the thing you want. Which would make you happy, and then there is something else you want it’s like a never ending cycle. So I relate to that episode, and thank you Phantom Strider for making this video I love your videos.

Honestly, the abrasive side episode is relatable for me cause I am a bit of push over… I hard time saying no, I try to please everyone, and feel guilty if I must say no… and making promises I can’t keep because I can’t say no… and when I do stand up for myself… I’m basically the firey red head. The episode taught me I should stand up, but never ever get carried away. Basically be like Mary Poppins… Kind but very firm. Also the ear worm song for me? It’s a Small World, both songs that were made for the Carsoul of Progress, Licorice Land, Hi Diddle Le Dee, A Pirates Life For Me, Grim Grinning Ghosts, One Little Spark, The Splash Mountain Melody- … wow most of my ear work songs are Disney songs… even still most are from the Parks Speaking of parks, I feel ya with The Rollar Cowards episode. I cannot do intense coasters at all… I will NOT go on Expedition Everest! And tower of terror… NO. Hell I get scared of the Haunted Mansion, even though that’s not a Roller coaster.. I feel ya buddy. That Roller Coward episode is so relatable

I went from a middle school student who thought that she's too old for cartoons and started watching anime, to someone who made everyone laugh by playing the plastic treasure chest scene and making cartoon references with people around my age. That's because of what I finally learned from my highschool days. I finally learned not to give a freak of what people think! Embrace myself and my interests. As a writer with executive dysfunction (side effect of neurological conditions such as autism/asperger's, ADHD, etc. that results in problems with things such as starting or focusing on tasks), these are the main things that have helped me: -listening to video game music helps with focus since it's meant to be listened to while completing a task -having a decent way to track your progress--saying I've written 1000 words of a 5000 word essay doesn't really mean too much to me, but saying that I'm 20% done makes it feel like I'm actually progressing -take breaks. I personally use the pomodoro technique whenever I'm needing to focus for a long period without burning out (15-25 minutes of work with a 5 minute break; repeat that about four times and then take a half hour break), and if you're in a flow, you can skip over the breaks if you need (I do recommend taking the half hour breaks to get up and stretch, though)

I really got to say: My favorite part of procrastination is when his chair comes to life and creeps him out (that is my relatable part of this episode), I didn't realize until you said that his chair wants him to have a seat that this relates to more of the topic of the episode. One of the many things I consider the Pizza episode my favorite is the falling action with the grouchy customer yelling at SpongeBob for an alleged drink he didn't get, making him cry. Hey, another relatable moment is dealing with the angry customer. I have something relatable about the Earworm episode, and that is playing a certain part of a song, or a video over and over again. I would play a certain part of your videos or others to experience joy of thinking good things to me or other relatable things for such more good. Or having a hard time trying to break an unhealthy habit. I was hoping you would put the episode "The Bully" on the list somewhere, which I think is a highly relatable topic. Glad its on the honorable mentions. Which I think that episode also is really funny because as a kid I always thought "kicking his butt" meant literally kicking him in the butt with his foot. Plus, have you ever seen a bully chase someone running in a garbage can, while the bully is driving a garbage truck? Then the banana peel is there for the truck to slip on and flip over. Good point about Spongie and the Rock Bottom incident. Which that episode came out in 2000. Technology has expanded over the last 22 years. But what made such a simple idea work is the really funny part of the bus refusing to pick Spongie up and keeps ditching him, even cartoonish the vending machine part with the kelp krunch bar representing the gas petal. I was expecting the first spot being something about the quarantining like the almost 2 year old covid 19 pandemic, but hey, glad you mentioned the message from the first SpongeBob movie. Which I think is the most relatable one too. For me.

Roller Cowards is just too relatable to me. Before 2016, I wouldn’t go on even family coasters. Eventually, with the help of friends and family, I worked my way up and now I can ride coasters 300 feet tall. Speaking of which, the night before my first ride on the roller coaster Orion at Kings Island, I watched Roller Cowards cause I connect with SpongeBob and Patrick in that episode. I now really love roller coasters and now, I’m trying to go on as many as possible. Thanks SpongeBob. Also, the chocolate guy’s name is Tom

I don't think Strider mentions it, but Patrick does go back for SpongeBob at the end of Rock Bottom, so either him going on the bus and he didn't think the bus would leave so soon, or he thought maybe he could get help from above rock bottom, and my theory is for the rest of the episode, Patrick is trying to find a bus to Rock bottom to get SpongeBob out of the place, but as we saw, he was a bit too late. Still a great list though!

Honestly, number one to me when I actually thought about everything is the most relatable. I know not everyone will care why but here goes. I'm a 22-year-old guy that loves things like Spongebob, Star Wars, Marvel, Anime, Lego, and video games. Recently, I've gotten back into re-watching Ben 10, it's in my top 5 of things I love, yet at times I was called out by family members and my step-dad who told me to grow up and stop buying that crap, and be a man. They've since understood that at my pace I am still growing and the things I enjoy I keep to myself by basically having it all in my room and not bothering my family that doesn't enjoy what I do. The only person that doesn't understand still is my dad, who I haven't seen in almost 5 years, I talked to him around Christmas, but that's because my Granddad was talking to him and gave me the phone. Heck, I remember the last time I saw him, he talked to me about the things I enjoy and my weight and I've been attempting to lose weight even before that time.

I'm definitely with you on number 1! I like to revisit shows and movies that I watched as a child, and often times I just can't stop!

Nice twist with using the SpongeBob movie as an entry, also I found the relatable episodes in the early seasons don’t really focus on what makes the relatable, instead the plot that relates to it.

i've never watched much spongebob so i'm just playing by ear on this one but OH MY GOD THE PROCRASTINATION ONE HAPPENS ALL. THE. DAMN. TIME. FOR ME. Like i swear whenever I have to do anything important (chores, etc) i either just can't get myself to do it or I get WAY too distracted. i find the earworm one relatable too because i always have some form of music playing on loop in my head (can either be segmants or whole songs) to a point where i'm so used to it i don't really care when it happens (unless it's a particularly annoying earworm which is rare thank god)

I personally love roller coasters, however I have a crippling fear of heights, this makes certain roller coasters absolutely terrifying while others not so much
