This guy gets hooked. Editors note: Aside from Jason Momoa... the Aquaman I’m acquainted with is late 80’s, Justice League of America. He was vanilla af. I assume it was that depiction that inspired Family Guy to do their pistake (he’s coloured exactly the same in both). In saying that, I don’t think I’d be too keen on exploring the adventures of Aquaman the invalid. ‘Summon any creature in the Ocean to do his bidding’.... that was his hook. Coming off second best after trying to fish his flat mates fiancés engagement ring out of the InSinkErator draws me into the plight Whether you’re Pro or Anti hook, ‘debate’ will go on... Well, to be honest, I find it good they not just ignore potential good characters just for the name and design. It shows some consistency for once instead of, you know, things like, why certain heroes not ask the Justice League for help when something big seems to happen and no one seems to notice or be around at all for example. Showing that yes, those characters are existing for a reason and can be useful with their skills and not just be some one-shot character like so many before.

What's messed up is that Batman even tried to stop him by firing a Bat Rocket at him, but they made the Joker so OP in this issue that he "deflected it with his sick sense of humor", he's so strong he can affect physical objects with freaking personality traits ? This man is like on Dr Manhattan levels of strength I think, and it shows with the level of savagery he followed it with by sending the coupons

I would say Identity Crisis was a seven-issue long messed up moment. What happened to Sue Dibney was definitely the worst of it, but there plenty else in the series that was pretty messed up.

Comparing the twisted zombies from Justice League Dark to anything but the necromorphs from Dead Space doesn't feel right.

And I'm still pissed off by Ryan Choi's unfair death that was only brought upon by whiny toxic nostalgia-blind fans, and pissed off by the entirety of Heroes in Crisis.

I know it’s low hanging fruit but… what about the entire comic series of “DCeased”?

Killing joke was one of the least messed up things joker has done

Justice league dark apokolips war was basically just a Dc horror movie lol like it was dark how the Teens Titans (children basically) got ripped apart like sheesh

I was hoping you would have mentioned Superman's little talk with the wizard who gave Shazam his powers. It was pretty touching and scary as hell to Superman that this young, homeless, untrained twelve year old would be given such an epic responsibility.

Billy's reveal and Superman's immediate response is one of my favorite Superman scenes ever. That said, it wasn't "the wizard who gave Shazam his powers", but "Shazam, the wizard who gave Captain Marvel his powers". (This was back when DC was still calling him "Captain Marvel" inside the stories. The name "Power of Shazam" was used on titles, which I really liked because it made the point that the stories could be about anybody who had the power, be it Billy, Mary, Freddy, Adam, etc.)

I think Identity Crisis would be better received if it involved a pastiche of the Justice League rather than the actual characters. IC just caused so much damage that, whatever quality there is to the story itself, it's overshadowed by its consequences.
