Bruce Lee was a great martial artist. He figured out some secrets of the martial arts, which I accidentally figured out myself when one of my 2nd degree black belts called me up to spare with him when I was at Blue Belt. I thought, there was no way I could win against him, so I relaxed into it. I ended up defending every strike and even getting strikes in on him. It frustrated him, and I was a little embarrassed that I beat him with ease. The last strikes were, I saw him projecting a side kick and I blocked it by kicking his foot down before he got a couple inches off the ground. I found out the next class that he tore muscles in his leg from me blocking that kick in that way. I was so sorry that happened. The style was Fred Villari Shaolin Kempo.

@@kieranmagellan2955 And what's wrong with Fred Villari Shaolin Kempo? It combines Karate, Kung Fu, and Jujitsu into one style. If you never took that style, then you don't know anything about it. I spared against Brown Belts from Tai Kwon Do when I was only at Blue Belt, and they couldn't begin to compete with me and just wined about everything because they thought a Blue Belt should be able to beat them. It takes at least five years to reach Black Belt in Kempo vs. the one and a half to two years in most other styles, because Kempo is much more than just Karate, Kung Fu, or Jujitsu, but instead all three combined. Before taking that style, I also took a few months of two other styles, Okinawan Sho Ryn Ru and Tak Ku Kwan Yu, and learned some Wing Chung too. When I started the Kempo, I was also in Judo classes, but dropped that after four months because Kempo was teaching much more. After starting back in college in 1992, I got into Sho Dinji Do at ENMU in Portales, NM for 8 months, but found that even the Black Belt teaching the class wasn't near as good as me, so I dropped that. I got lots of practice with various weapons over the years too, but my favorite was the Nun Chakus. I used to use two at the same time, which impressed everybody since I would criss cross them in front of me without hitting them together at all, and flipping them around my wrists at the same time. I can still do that but at a slower rate since I haven't done it in so many years.

The Malay and indos had silat (amazing style) The khamer have bokator (brutal and deadly style) The Okinawa Japanese had karate (penetrative style) The filipinos had Kali (complex style) The Chinese had kung fu (mystifying style) And the Koreans had teakkyon (fast and sharp style) All beautiful in there own way , very fascinating.

@@mohammeds-dgusually those you learn in rural country side areas. For me I learnt silat Cimande from my home village in rural west Sumatera mountain ranges, intended as a means for self defence once I grew up and went to big cities. The training was harsh, like, eating insects, odd mixtures of mountain herbs and hunting boars, for example. How effective it has been in self defence? Silat (and other indigenous fighting methods), exclusively the non-competitive styles (the ones that were devised to kill colonialists back in the day) are pure violence, lethal, quick and efficient. To achieve its intended purpose, your own body needs to undergo a specific adjustment /adaptation process through various questionable methods (as I've mentioned above). One word I could tell you. It is un-needed. You could literally kill your offender with this thing UNINTENTIONALLY if you haven't been doing the mental tempering part correctly, or at all. Rather than self defense, I began to fear myself due to uncontrollable lethal techniques Ive been automatically using to ward off offender and offenders. My suggestion? Learn kickboxing, at least that way it is effective while it doesn't permanently injure your offenders for life, especially if you live in a lawful country.
