*If I’m being completely honest, the Roman-Brock match at ‘Mania 34 was very understandable. People were just sick to death of WWE relentlessly shoving Roman down their throats after spending four frustrating years pushing him as the top drawing babyface and failing time after time after time. Not mention the fact that the company put theirselves in a lose-lose situation since both wrestlers involved in that match the fans did not care for at all during that time. They either had to strap the belt on a wrestler whom the fans resented for being shoved down their throats or a wrestler whom the fans resented for being an absentee champion who rarely ever showed up. It was just such a complete waste of time.*

I was at Summerslam 2018 in Brooklyn, and it was gray how the fans supported Becky and rejected her apparent heel turn. We all chanted “You deserve it” as Becky beat up on Charlotte. Then on Smackdown in the same building, the fans continued to chant and support her despite her heeling and telling them off.

Damn, Lesnar doesn't care at all about the belt. Lmao

I feel like they’ve bastardized the business to the point where nobody can make the belt truly matter anymore. Not like the old days of a Stone Cold, Bret Hart or Randy Savage. I couldn’t imagine ever seeing that back in the day.

@@theungreatkahli Roman makes the undisputed title matter since the belt is something top baby faces chase. If you give everybody the belt like they did in the 2010s then it loses meaning. Jinder, jack Swagger, etc should have never even sniffed the top titles. Ever.

I like that you cover positive hijackings too. I’ve completely forgotten most of these. IMO Bianca Belair vs Iyo Sky at Backlash 2023 will be remembered as another match where the crowd hijacking benefitted it.

I remember a match where the crowd was just so uninterested that they started do the Royal Rumble 10 countdown despite it not being the Royal Rumble.

Unfortunately, fans are souring to the Tribal Chief, because he has been champion for WAY too long, there doesn't seem to be any end in sight, *and* he hardly ever wrestles. It's easy to be champion for a million years when you don't wrestle during the week, and you don't even defend it at every PPV.

The crowd during the JBL taker match is a reason they should never go back there.

See it really upsets me when fans disrespects the wrestlers and ignore what's going on in the ring. Chanting stupid stuff. Its not cute. Its not funny. The amount of hate Roman got back in the day was insane. As was the nonsense that happened with Batista back in the day. Moments where the fans were chanting and singing for Bayley, Enzo and Big Cass however was incredibly wholesome and nice to see.

Damn I feel bad for wrestlers just trying to do their jobs and entertain people who PAID to go see them. I do not understand how and when audiences got so entitled. Feels like this is the cost we pay for having kayfabe broken. Don't get me wrong, I like learning about the personal lives of wrestlers thanks to kayfabe being broken, but at the same time I think it paved the way for audiences to expect too much.
