10 MIN - Eye Exercises to Improve Vision After Stroke

This guided, 10-minute workout is designed to help improve the control and coordination of your eye muscles after a stroke. These exercises are best for survivors who have weakness of the eye muscles leading to trouble with blurry vision, double vision, or trouble focusing.
This workout isn't for survivors who have a visual field cut. You won’t need any special equipment for this workout. Consult with a neuro eye specialist first to make sure these exercises are right for you.

@PostStrokeOrg This is very helpful. I had double vision after my stroke in 2018. It is very scary. However, doing these exercises with my therapist for about a month helped me get my vision back, and now I'm driving. I recommend doing these exercises. Don't give up. It's worth it.

@lisaward2562 This is great that your diplopia is cured. My husband has similar condition, if you dont mind can i know how long it took for your eyes to get back to normal post stroke

@meenumittal8623 About a month, the diplopia started going away and eventually only had it in my left peripheral. Over the next couple years, with eye exercises and going to the neuro-optimologist it is gone.

It doesn't matter how long since your stroke, recovery is possible. It may be slower, but it's possible. Repetitions is the key. Never give up. See a neuro-optimologist they can use prisms in glasses to help you. Elyse is right on point with the exercises.

@SuperJesusinme, i agree with @lisaward2562. It’s probably time to see a neuro ophthalmologist to figure out what specifically is going on. My videos are more general but you’ll need a more individualized plan. Keep me posted!

Thank you for all your videos. Could you perhaps also explain the trouble with vision after a stroke, bright light. After 6 years coping with noise is getting better, but son is awfully difficult. Greetings from Holland Europe

If exercises haven’t worked for you, I’d recommend reaching out to a neuro ophthalmologist to get some diagnostic testing to see what’s going on and what treatment is appropriate for you!

@zehrafatima7253 Most likely not as these are for muscle weakness. I would talk to your eye doctor to see what would be the best treatment for your situation!
