    1. Eat veggies, then proteins fats then carbs and sugars 2. Add veggie starter: raw veges, cooked, etc with dressing. A whole plate of it!! 30% of volume of meal. 3. Don’t count calories. Focus on keeping glucose levels even. Less hunger. 4. Savoury breakfast. Protein, yoghurt, nuts, meat fish, fat and fibre. Nothing sweet. 5. All sugars behave the same; all create a glucose spike. Eat what you like. 6. Pick dessert over sweet snack. If stomach is empty, glucose causes spike, then a crash. After meal, food will slow down sugar absorption. 7. Vinegar 1 tbsp in glass of water before meals changes spike by 30%. Apple cider vinegar, etc all work. Can also be used in dressing. Capsules and supplements don’t work. Antispike supplement may be a good alternative. 8. Move after eating. 10 minutes of movement within 90 min of eating. Calf raises will do it!!! 9. Savoury snacks between meals. Cheese on toast, sugar only after meals. 10. When you eat any starch, add protein, fat or fibre. Eg chocolate cake + yoghurt, pasta + cheese, etc.

I was told a year ago that I was pre-diabetic and my blood pressure was sky high. I might add that I am 71 years old.. I tried NORMAL calorie counting which really didn't work very well. Then I read Glucose Revolution and decided it couldn't do me any harm. I've just had my annual check with the GP. I've gone from 91 kilos to 75 Kilos, I am no longer pre-diabetic and my blood pressure is now in the good to normal range. Discovering this method has been a revelelation. In addition my rheumatoid symptoms are much improved. So, thank you Jesse.

Thank you Jesse for all the knowledge you have provided on glucose spikes and how to manage them. I drink apple cider vinegar with every meal and eat my veggies first, proteins next and carbohydrates last. I appreciate you immensely. I love watching your videos as I find them educational and entertaining. And you’re also very beautiful. Keep up the good work you’re doing.

I just stumbled upon your channel and I really enjoy all the information. My HbA1C is 5.5 I am (overweight: used to be 102 kg, nor 96 kg), had Gestational diabetes in my 3 pregnancies. I am in the medical field myself and found research how insulin is toxic to embryo-placenta cells and from then on did more research. How bad hyperinsulinemia is bad and can cause so many illnesses that doctors only prescribe pills for and talk about lifestyle change. They focus on the blood sugar but not on the insulin-spike. I, myself, for now am doing a more radical approach by going (sometimes dirty) keto for now. It didn't take long to feel the difference in my body. On my vacation I went back to 3 days of the normal carbohydrated diet and I felt sick, belly aches etc. Now I am back on track and appreciate the journey and I am thankful for all the knowledge I have gained. I will incorporate your tips and will be spreading them among (pre-) diabetic patients whenever I get the chance!

When my kids were smaller, they were hungry before dinner I would put out a plate of sliced vegetables, strawberries, apple, cucumber, whatever we had in the house with a little bit of ranch dip, and they would gobble all the vegetables down. I snacked on them as well while cooking dinner, we all ate less and we didn’t need anything sweet afterwards. I carry cheese sticks, beef, jerky, and things like mandarin oranges like that for in between meals this was a great program and you are helping so many people.

I used to not be able to eat breakfast, because everytime I did eat anything my parents or friends wanted I was feeling like shit the whole day and had cravings and was eating a lot. Thank you so much, Jessie!!! I have always struggled with my weight. I did drop 50 pounds about 12 years ago. I tried Paleo, then Keto, which was hard to sustain. I'm gluten and cow dairy intolerant, and haven't eaten sugar in 12 years. Then I went from a size 10 to a size 14 when my husband was diagnosed with cancer. I've been trying so hard to get the weight off. My doctor put me in metformin and it didn't help at all. And then I saw these hacks and tried them. They are SO easy!!! I stopped taking the metformin. And I'm starting to fit back into my size 10s again! You are such a life saver! I'm looking forward to a healthy future because of you! Thank you, Jessie! And, by the way, I love your style! You always look amazing!

Hi, Jessie. Thank you for this amazing video. I've followed your hacks since last year because of my sugar addiction and mild depression. I like the idea of not caring too much about calories, which used to be the key for dieting, and of focusing on eating more fibers and protein first. Since I followed your hacks, I eat more but I lost weight nicely. Most importantly, my mood has improved tremendously. (Also, managed to get out of sugar addiction) Thank you so much, your hacks really changed my life.

This is a great video with wonderful information. If we think about the hack (eat savory in the morning), it's actually NOT that hard to do if you consider there are many cultural cuisines where morning breakfast is savory. So, when I first heard this from you, it made perfect sense and is something we have been practicing! The only thing I have to do now is perhaps change some of the proportions so that protein is heavier followed by veggies. Also then change the order to eat the veggie first, followed by the protein, then end with carbs. This is so informative and makes so much sense! You are amazing!

  • @GaiaNeh1013

FINALLY!! Someone who makes sense! And without demonizing food. I'm so tired of "can't eat this or that" without being clear on what I CAN eat. Even weirder when certain foods and cleansing fasts start trending like clothes. We eat every day and nothing seems harder to change than dietary habits when it seems like I have to change everything I eat. I finally understand why my cravings take over at times!!!! I want to add something to this... whenever I would give into cravings, I would notice the fluids in my throat would get thicker.. It's like the mucus in my body is accumulated in response to the sugar. I heard somewhere that inflammation and most health problems is mucus (or mucus-like) building up in the body.

I rerally enjoyed your video and the visuals made it more interesting. My health has improved, physically and mentally since I changed my diet from the normal carb high style to low carb - leaving out potatoes, bread, rice, all wheat, etc. Since then I no longer have cravings (except for coffee). At about 11am I drink a whole lemon with ginger, vinegar, and water - all blended - thats breakfast - really lights up my brain. Lunch is eggs, cheese or meat and lettuce or cellery with pickles or olives. Dinner is meat (I eat a lot of meat) and greens, sometimes I eat a carrot or some pumpkin. Apple cider vinegar on veggies and meat tastes fantastic. Lebanese people taught me to eat pickled veggies as a starter for dinner - thats vinegar and veggies for round one or I will have cellery, cheese and olives - I just love cheese. My desert is Whittakers 95% chocolate and I love mixed nuts. I am 60 years old and I have gone from size 20+ to size 16 in two years - no calorie counting and I have not weighed myself. If anything I probably eat more claories now because if Im hungry I eat. I have fewer cravings. I drink way more liquids, I seem to love a variety of teas. I was pre-diabetic before covid and have not been back to the Dr. However, I no longer crave sugars or carbs. My aches have reduced unless I do too much exercise, but I can now walk a few kilometers if I want to, which I had not been able to do for a few years. I also found leaving out deadly nighshade plants like capsicum, egg plant, potatoes, and tomatoes, reduced my my aches, and fish oil capsules help.

I have the feeling this is really gonna help me tremendously. I have no hunger in the morning and start eating at lunch. I am always having the same for lunch. From bottom to top: skyr, oat flakes with raisins, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, ground linseed, puffed amaranth, a some fruit cut into pieces. I never feel tired after this or in a bad mental state. But when I come home I get myself a meal with carbs from the day before, some slices of bread or loads of chocolate right away. And after this, the rest of my day is ruined. There are more than 5 hours of freetime left before bedtime but I am nothing but grumpy and tired. And I am getting even grumpier because I am mad at myself for being tired, lazy and in a bad mood. After your explanations I seem to understand why I am feeling good after having lunch but feel miserable after having dinner. I ordered both of your books yesterday and am excited to change my evenings thanks to your tips.

New subscriber here. So happy I found your channel. The hacks are genius! Thank you so much for sharing them!! For years I worried about calories and fats and ignored the most important SUGARS. I love eating veggies thanks to my mom feeding them to me and my siblings growing up. While cooking dinner, if we were hungry, she would cut up and give us raw veggies like carrots, cucumbers, peppers, etc. to eat. Hack #2 is still a part of my life. Hack #1 will be easy to add as well. After listening to you on The Diary of a CEO, I incorporate Hack #7 and drink vinegar/water cocktail before meals. Call me crazy but I'm obsessed with apple cider vinegar haha. Recently heard of Hack #9, now cognizant of moving after a meal. Love your simple suggestion of raising calves. Weather permitting I walk outside. Otherwise, I walk on the treadmill while listening to podcasts. I plan on adding more of your hacks to my existing repertoire!

Hello Betty, I commended you for taking care of your health. I am 77 and I live in Thailand with my two children aged 15 and 16. Up until I was 70 I ate the standard American Diat plus a lot of fast food. I think because I exercised, did 100 pushups and ran 5 kilometers every day that helped me to stay feeling healthy. At 70 I developed self diagnosed arthritis because I had pain in my lower back, knees and wrists. I stopped running, pushups and morning exercises. I started watching KZread videos and I came across a video from Dr. Ken Berry titled, "Lies My Doctor Told Me". Dr. Berry discovered that general practitioners are not taught in medical school about health and nutrition they're taught to analyze the condition and prescribe medicine. This is because the pharmaceutical industry is in charge of the medical universities. It isn't profitable to cure sick people but it is profitable to sell medicine. Dr. Berry realised that he was overweight, unhealthy and prescribing medicine that was not helping himself or his patients. Through research he discovered the Keto Diet. He transitioned from Keto to Carnivore. The Carnivore Diet is a diet that eliminates all carbohydrates and vegetable oils and promotes eating only animal foods. I've been on the Carnivore Diet for 6 years and it has changed my life. My diet is very simple. I eat when I am hungry. On an average day my first meal starts anywhere from 2 to 6pm. The first meal is bacon and 6 eggs (3 norm and 3 only the yoke), next meal 500mg/1 pound ground beef. Every other day I add one chicken liver to the ground beef. I eat 3 to 4 cans of sardines a week and my ex-wife who has a beautiful restaurant called Kurissara Thai Cuisine in Bangkok sends food to me and the children. I always get a larger steamed sea bass. I also eat 100 grams of butter a day. I'm not perfect, I have a sweet tooth and I drink two pots of Lipton tea with lime and Stevia every day I also eat Macadamia nuts. In addition to Dr. Ken Berry I like to watch videos of Dr. Anthony Chaffee. His moto is "If it's a plant don't eat it".😊

Could you also consider putting together a PDF of any of the studies to which you refer? I prefer to do a bit of follow-up on ideas gained from social media. I'm sure you can understand this need given there are so much 'advice' going around with little basis (including pretty much all of the vitamin and wellness industry).

Re:hack #1 - I learned many years ago that when a person eats, the food forms a bolus in the stomach, with the first food consumed at the center of the bolus and the last food eaten on the outside. The bolus is built up, layer by layer, as a person masticates and swallows their food. This suggests the order you've presented as being the OPPOSITE of what a person would want to do! IIRC, the bolus is treated by the stomach acid and liquefied before the sphincter at the bottom area of the stomach allows the partially digested slurry to proceed into the small intestine. The "food" is not processed into the intestines directly as it is consumed in the mouth and passed along to the stomach: salad, meats/proteins, carbs.

This doesn't make sense to me- why would all the food you eat in chronological order layer itself from the inside out into a ball in your stomach. The gravity issue aside, that just doesn't make sense to me. It's not going to be neat and clean layers like a cake but forming a ball from the inside out doesn't make sense.

Hello. I’m a 51 year old post menopausal woman and in the last 8 months I began gaining weight especially in my mid section. Ironically I went through premenopausal and menopause with little problem and some weight gain but adding intermittent fasting, going pescatarian, moderate exercise, and decreasing my sugar intake I managed to maintain a 103 pound weight for the last 4 years and I was no longer in the pre diabetic range. In the last 8 months I began slowly gaining weight and it baffled me because I was not doing anything drastically different. My sugar cravings have began to get stronger and it was becoming difficult to fight them. I don’t weigh myself but use 3 clothing pieces to gauge my weight. One is a pair of shorts from high school that pair of shorts have become tight around my mid section and if I sat down I was afraid the zipper would give. I came across your oat milk KZread short video and it caught my attention because I’ve switched to oat milk in the last 6 or 8 months. I subscribed to your channel and decided to try your hacks. After changing from oat milk to whole milk and doing the savory breakfast, vinegar drink, moving after a meal, and savory snack hack for ONLY 5 DAYS my high school shorts fit perfectly again the zipper is not straining to keep me in 😂 I am glad I came across your channel. I wanted and needed to loose weight but only in a natural healthy way. Your research and information is so helpful I am sharing your channel with everyone that is struggling with weight loss. THANK YOU SO MUCH YOU HAVE BEEN A BLESSING! I will do another post with my one month result.

ye i think the reason she actually says smart stuff is because she isnt a doctor. shes a biochemist maybe has a PhD not sure didnt look into it. An MD has 0 knowledge of nutrition only a little basis from the bachelor. They just focus on a subject, they are not all knowing gods and are most certainly NOT scientists. They have less skill at actually reading and processing scientific information, as you can probably telk by all the doctors on youtube claiming to be experts on any subject whatsoever. Trust science not an MD. They are only helpfull in the thing they are specialized in and should give no other advice.

For example, I eat the equivalent of one meal a day as that is all my 80-year-old body needs. I start my day with a glass of water and exercise. An hour later, I take my morning supplements, which include fiber, That is followed by a scone and mocha or tea. That will actually keep me full until around 5pm but I don't want sugars in my body that late, so about 5 hours after breakfast I exercise again, eat a dill pickle, take my afternoon supplements, then a few minutes later, have my dessert for the day along with mocha or tea. Sometime, preferably before 5pm, I eat my dinner which will be vegetables, protein, and then carbs. Unfortunately, because it is hard for us old folk to sleep at night, I have to eat a slice of bread with butter about two hours before bedtime. I've tried a lot of healthier snacks but none of them is as reliable as the bread and butter. I try not to drink anything, except water with my nightly medicine, after 5pm. That usually allows me to sleep through the night without having to use the bathroom. This diet has allowed me to stay active despite several life-threatening illnesses including stage IV breast cancer and heart failure. While I haven't been cancer free, in 30 years, I have been able to keep it from doing any significant damage to a vital organ. Treatment, however, damaged my heart, and thus, the heart failure. It was still a good trade off as I've had many wonderful years I wouldn't have without treatment. The medicine I currently take, is more targeted so hopefully it isn't doing further damage to my heart.
