We present to you 10 inscriptions with unique characteristics among the large number of inscriptions that can be seen in Sri Lanka. This also enables us to gain an understanding of the language and alphabets used in ancient times from the inscriptions. A lot of inscriptions relating to Buddhism can be seen in Sri Lanka, especially regarding temples and monasteries. Another special point is that the past can be matched by connecting each era with these shell letters. Among the sources used for the study of history, inscriptions occupy a special place. Inscriptions are also very helpful in gaining an understanding of human activities including spiritual life, economy, education, politics, including the beliefs, beliefs, and practices of the people in those stages. The inscriptions belong to archaeological sources.
ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ දැකිය හැකි ඉතා විශාල ප්‍රමාණයකින් යුතු සෙල්ලිපි අතරින් සුවිශේෂී ලක්ෂණ වලින් යුත් සෙල්ලිපි 10 ක් අපි ඔබට ඉදිරිපත් කරන්නෙමු. සෙල්ලිපි වලින් විශේෂයෙන්ම පුරාතනයේ භාවිතා කරන ලද භාෂාව සහ අක්ෂර විශේෂයෙන් පිළිබඳ අවබෝධයක් ලබා ගැනීමට ද මෙමගින් හැකියාව ලැබේ. බුදු දහමත් සමග සම්බන්ධ වෙමින් විශේෂයෙන්ම විහාරාරාම ආශ්‍රිතව සෙල්ලිපි රාශියක් ලංකාවේ දැකිය හැකිය. මේ සෙල්ලිපි වලින් එක් එක් යුග හා සම්බන්ධ කරමින් අතීතය ගැලපිය හැකිවීමත් තවත් විශේෂ කරුණකි. ඉතිහාසය පිළිබඳව හැදෑරීමට භාවිතා කරන මූලාශ්‍ර අතර සෙල්ලිපි වලට හිමිවන්නේ සුවිශේෂී ස්ථානයකි. ඒ ඒ අවධීන් වල මිනිස්සුන්ගේ ඇදහිලි ,විශ්වාස ,වත් පිළිවෙත් ඇතුලත් අධයාත්මික ජීවිතය, ආර්ථිකය, අධයාපනය, දේශපාලනය ඇතුලත් මිනිස් ක්‍රියාකාරකම් පිළිබඳ ව අවබෝධයක් ලබාගැනීමට ද සෙල්ලිපි බොහෝ සෙයින් ඉවහල් වෙයි. සෙල්ලිපි අයත් වන්නේ පුරාවිද්‍යාත්මක මූලාශ්‍ර වලටය.
