Not really. TCU did more than enough to get in the playoffs. Their schedule is stronger than Alabama and have one less loss. They needed to lose by 15+ for it to get interesting

You gotta respect Max Duggan's hustle though. He gave this game everything he got. Truly carried the team on his back on those last couple of drives. KSU played a good game. I don't believe TCU should be out of the CFP though. It'll be interesting to see how the committee makes a decision.

I am a life long HUGE K-State fan, and TCU has my complete RESPECT! That was an incredible game, and Max Duggan...... WOW...... I truly feel for you. You gave MORE than everything you had. I TRULY HOPE that this loss does NOT eliminate TCU from the Championship contention. I truly was torn. I want my CATS to win.... but I know the AGONY and HAVOC the Big 12 Championship game can have on a National Championship run.... We've been there too. Congrats and GOOD LUCK. What a game!!! Props to Duggan, he's an absolute warrior! I still think TCU deserves to be in the playoff. But this is yet another example of why the college football playoff needs to expand! When you have rosters full of young men. Teams can improve massively throughout the season. Would love to see teams like Utah & Kansas State get a chance to compete in a playoff! Right now, they can compete with anyone. Especially the Utes! Congratulations to Kansas State.

There’s still only 1-3 teams each year with a realistic chance of winning it all. We’re lucky when we get 4 competitive teams even in this format, letting another 6 teams with no shot into the playoffs won’t change who ultimately wins. If the purpose of the playoff is to crown a champ, you don’t need any more than 4, maybe 6 in a wild year. But if the purpose of the playoff is just more money, to reinvigorate interest in bowl games, and entertainment; then bring on the 12-team format. I have to admit I’m looking forward to those home playoff games in the first round, it’ll be a lot of fun; it just won’t make a difference when one of the 7 SEC/Big10 squads that will inevitably make it win the natty every year.

Same here. My heart broke for Max- he put everything he had left there on that last drive running on pure willpower alone!! Bloodied arms and everything, reminded me a lot of Collin Klein That said, that goal line stand reminded me of 2011 Miami. Big 12 Champions baby, EMAW! Max is a heisman finalist and TCU is #3 in the playoff

The ball did cross the goal…problem was he was down already. #29 was laying on his legs after the tackle, no way to say he wasn’t down, THEN he reached out with the ball.

It's a tribute to the job Bill Snyder did building the Kansas State program that they are still winning conference championships years after he retired. He laid the foundation for a successful, big-time college football program and Chris Klieman has kept it going. They have won Big 12 titles in the 2000's, the 2010's and now the 2020's. That's no small feat.

Duggan may or may not be a great NFL player. This game does not show it. Quarterbacking in the NCAA is very, very different from quarterbacking in the NFL. In college, you don't have good O-lines and D-lines, plus DBs will miss tackles against big bulky QBs. As a result, quarterback mobility is a premium in college. In the pros? Absolutely not. It's more about adjusting the pocket to give yourself an extra second. Because you will NOT be able to scramble for yardage against professional defensive ends. Precision passing, getting the ball out quick, and adjusting to the speed of play is far more important.

This game meant a hell of a lot to these players.

Both teams played their hearts out, both teams! Give credit to Kansas State for their grit and discipline. As for TCU, I don’t think they should be penalized for this loss. They were tremendous all season and deserve to go to the play-offs. But this day rightfully belongs to the Kansas State Wildcats.

If you're talking about trying two handoffs inside the one in OT, instead of leaving it in the hands of Duggan, I agree. I'll never understand...Duggan's legs got you down to the one yard line in OT, so now, two plays in a row you hand it to a back 4 yards deep, giving K-State time to fill the gaps. Your team, and Duggan, had the momentum and the coaches just threw it away. Un-effing-believable.

@@tevinmachart4723 I slowed it down to .25x and tried to get a good frame of reference of when his arm was over the goal line. If you slow the side view down and zoom in the. You'll see that it looks like when the KS player made the tackle he wrapped his arms around the running backs legs preventing his knees from touching the ground right away giving him the extra split second to get enough push to make it to the goal line. Im not a ref though and don't have access to the angles and quality of footage that they do so I truly can't say shit

The USC loss was huge. Even if Michigan and Georgia lost now I think the only change will be Ohio State in the playoff and not much changes. 1. Georgia 2. Michigan 3 TCU. 4. Ohio State. That's how it looks now.

For those that believe that TCU should make the playoff, I'm with you. But here's the problem. Look at the ratings that the College Football Playoff will have if the Semi-Finals are Ohio State vs. Michigan, and Alabama vs. Georgia. That would be the 2 most hyped matchups in CFP HISTORY!

It'll be dumb, they put 2 sec teams in last year, a big 10 team, and a small conference team. And sec and big 10 proved to be the 2 worst conferences out of the main 5 in the bowl games. Then they overrated both conferences again this season.

TCU should still be the 3 seed in the Playoff. Putting TCU at 4 after losing their conference championship by 3 points in OT to a top 10 team on a neutral field and putting a team with 1 less win, didn't play for their conference championship, and got embarrassed by 20 on their own field ahead of them would be disgusting and fraudulent!

Neutral field… less than an hour from TCU campus and the k state fans were by far louder and more consistent throughout the game.

Yea Tcu couldn’t beat the little jay hawks, with their 5’5 half back. Bama is the greatest football program in history and sissy’s like u are scared for em to get in, cus u know what’s happening if they do.

They lost to every decent team they faced this year and should have lost to Texas and they barely beat a terrible Texas A&M and a very overrated Ole Miss. Bama only beat FCS Austin Peay 35-0 and the game was actually closer than the score even suggest. Many casuals (like most Bama fans) would see a 35-0 score and say that’s a blowout.. only that was to a FCS team by the “greatest team in history”.. ANY playoff contender should blow out ANY FCS team 70-0 or worse.. but Bama struggled to even get those 5 scores. Bama is undisciplined, cocky, entitled and sloppy.. they thought that just because they play for Bama that the wins and championships would just win themselves. When a toxic culture starts to set in like that.. it’s only a matter of time before it all falls apart and baby.. those cracks are not only showing.. but they’re growing. The SEC is Georgia and that’s it anymore.

Great game! Way to go cats! Definitely agree with going for it on 4th Down! But don't agree with the play call. TCU should still be in the playoff. There is no two lost team that should get in over them.

Great weekend of college football so far. I was hoping TCU would win to get the conference title and the playoff bid. I saw some of their amazing comebacks on TV this year just like done again today. Why did TCU with the ball on the one yard line in overtime twice decide to not quartberback sneak with theii powerful Duggan as QB? K-State and Utah are both very good teams. Only voting will decide the top 4 with Ohio State now likely and maybe even now Alabama with 2 losses in the elite SEC. Even if TCU still makes the playoffs, I will think Alabama is the real number 4 team. anyway Good thing college footbal after so many years will soon have playoffs more like the NFL. Mizzou fan

Even tho Alabamas best win didn’t come from the “elite SEC” it came from Big 12 Texas. TCU’s best win is over now Conference champion Kansas State. Alabama lost to 4 loss LSU and Tennessee who’s ranked behind them. They have no path.

I think that even though very close losses for Alabama the fact that Tennessee feels they are more deserving than Alabama for beating them helps TCU as well. It's very hard though to ever find an easy game in the SEC since there was so much parity this year..

@@larryloveless2967 if agree accept the same goes for the big 12 this year. Our worst team beat Iowa who was in the running for the Big 10 championship. Parity has been crazy in the big 12. 80% of our conference is bowl bound. Alabama who is the second highest SEC team has their best win against the 3rd ranked Big 12 opponent which TCU beat by more. Doesn’t make sense how TCU could even be considered lower than BAMA

The players played great, but whoever decided to try to run through the middle on TCU’s last play cost them the game. You can’t change my mind about that.

In that’s situation you either run the outside, pass, or kick a field goal. In todays game that is. A few years back and this probably would’ve worked.

Take away the muffed punt this game wouldn't have been as close. I'm just thankful my Cats won a hard fought game. Well Deserved Big 12 Championship played with many freshmen due to injuries during the game. Garcia caught his first TD as a Wildcat. TCU got greedy in OT instead of taking a FG and Ty Zentner made them pay. Cats Defense was awesome considering how many points TCU averages.

As bad as I want Bama in I don’t think we deserve it over tcu. I don’t think we played well as a team this year .I wanted bryce to win him one before he left 😢 anyways Roll Tide !!!

Duggan has that FRAWG in him. TCU could have won that game, many missed catches, and that 3rd down OT run was a TD. Credit to K-State. Hell of a game.

TCU almost got by With a Little Help from thier friends.. the officials did all they could for TCU down the stretch giving them all the time they needed to come up with plays!!!!!! K........S.........UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.. WILDCATS!!!!!! Oh and let's not forget the refs let Dugan take as much time as he needed to catch his breath so they could come up with their two-point conversion

@@weirdbeard63 TCU has no argument whatsoever about the officiating the whole country got to see how they made their comeback the whole country got to see overturned call after overturned call against K State Flag after flag for pass interference against K-State TCU has no argument to cry about down the stretch TCU got all the time they needed over and over and over again to tie the game up there's a stretch of 20 minutes where all you see is Sunny Dykes talking to the officials then they pan to coach Klieman for about 2 seconds and then it's more Sunny Dykes and the officials

USC and TCU should both get in, you shouldn't be punished for playing in a conference championship game and losing when the team that passes you didn't even play in a championship game. We'll see what actually happens though

Great game. Could have gone to either Cats or Frogs but K-State was consistent. Momentum was in their favor until the fumble on the return. Go KU and KSU in their bowl games against Arkansas and Alabama.

If USC can fall so will TCU. Crazy to think people want to see a bum TCU team play against actual elite teams lol
