Chicken breast where I live is typically $6.49-$6.99/lb in grocery stores and sales are never below $4.99/lb so when I am able to get to Costco, I dont mind paying their usual price for it as it's usually still cheaper than the local sale price and I wont have to worry about hunting down a deal for a few weeks.

We did not renew our Costco membership because we just were not seeing the savings and we buy so few things there that it doesn't really make sense. Plus, it's across town and we just hate making that drive. As for Crumbl cookies, we've never had them and don't intend to ever try them. I make my own sweets and my kids say store bought, even bakery, doesn't compare. When I see people spending almost twenty dollars on four cookies...I just shake my head.

We have a small oven\ airfryer and we use it all the time. It's just my husband and me so I divide casseroles into 4 portions and reheat them or cook in the little oven. It's the perfect size for an 8x8 pan for brownies and cornbread. It keeps our kitchen cooler. If I had a bigger family I might not get as much use out of it. Oh, and I can rotisserie a chicken in it ( though I usually buy a Costco chicken). I also use an immersion blender for soups, so much easier than putting soup in the blender. I never use our blender so it's not cluttering my counter and I would donate it but it's my husband's. It's easier to clean than a blender.

Another thing about Costco is that for many products they only stock a certain brand. It might be a name brand like hidden valley ranch or mission tortillas or Quaker Oats. If you want the name brand then it’s a good deal but you may save money if you bought a generic at another store. If it’s part of the “rotation” and you buy certain things there and certain things at other stores then it can certainly save money.

Love this video!! 😂 Also... 1) not a Crumbl fan AT ALL, 2) agree with you about all the oversized decor, 3) the RTE meals are definitely overpriced, but are a lifesaver for hectic schedules, last minute dinner guests, or when I'm sick or gone because no one's eating drive thru food & it's cheaper than home delivery food plans, and lastly, 4) absolutely agree that their meat dept is almost always more expensive than supermarkets & not necessarily better quality. Costco is flipping amazing, but you really need to know the going price of groceries and household necessities to make it work for your budget.

I will say that although I rarely buy chicken at Costco, their organic ground beef is a good deal compared to grocery stores. Also, I agree with not liking seed oils, but I'm focused why you won't drink them in a protein shake when you're eating them in everything else you buy. It's it just the quantity you'd be drinking at a time? Those seed oils are in your crackers, cake mixes, bread, pizza, etc. If that's something you're wanting avoid, your grocery bill will go up because it's less used in organic and natural foods. I'm not trying to be ugly, just wanted to make sure you're aware. Also, beware of bioengineering food product being in almost every package food now😮😢

We do buy Kirkland's almond milk because we go through it by the gallons in smoothies, and the other smoothie ingredients probably mask the flavor you don't like. Loved your Crumbl's spoof!

Here in southern Maine, we are eagerly awaiting the opening of a Costco (they’re even selling memberships before the building is completed!), so this is a helpful reality check. Bless you, Christine.

Fellow Mainer here. I can hardly stand the excitement, I didn't know they were selling memberships pre-opening. We'll get ours this weekend! Yippee!! BJs is good, but we'll have to decide which membership to keep. It's way too tempting to have both, I know that much.

Haha, love the Crumbl skits! 😆 For Costco “won’t buy” - eggs! Idk why my Costco won’t lower their prices on their eggs, but they’re still asking $11.99 for 60, but I found 60 eggs at Walmart for $5.63! Eggs seem to be hanging around $1.20/dozen in my area, so not sure why Costco’s are so high!

I noticed Costco here has significantly higher prices than Safeway here, too. Costco's are free range though and the comparison ones at Safeway's weren't, so I'm thinking that's why the ones at Costco cost more.

Great video! Just wanted to share..the benefit of Costco is returning items! Frugal tip: return what isn't serving you! Usually don't need your receipt because it is on your account. No tags, no problem, they get the number off the tag inside the clothes. I'm just sorry you donated your food keepers instead of getting your money back. 💰 I don't get sucked in on most Costco items. I used to go to a store that the employee always saw me and said you always have 3 items, it's crazy! 😂 I did recently get a flannel shirt by Jach's that I love, it is soo perfectly thin and warm! Highly recommend! I buy butter in bulk and freeze boxes, love the Siete grain free tortilla chips for basically the same price as our store for double the size. We keep the Milton's cauliflower veggie pizzas in our freezer for quick dinners that satiate. Agree on the meat, although the prices on prime/choice briskets is pretty amazing! Just discovered this year that their prices on eye contacts smokes every deal I have ever found! Happy shopping!!

i’m in australia and the meat at costco here is actually cheaper. our grocery stores here never run sales on meat and so costco prices are generally unbeatable. we get 8-9lb of ground beef for $40 (it works out to about $10/kg or $5/lb) and we got about 14-15lb of pork for $8 a kg (about $4/lb). that’s cheap. ain’t finding cheaper anywhere else. so we like costco for meat and usually do a big stock up then cook it and freeze it into smaller portions for meal prep. the rest of the stuff i agree with, the 6 foot xmas decorations for $300-$400 are a joke! who has storage space for that? our costco doesn’t sell mattresses but i agree with you on all the other small appliances.

I have two foodie Appliances, the 8 qts one, I use minimly Once a week and the indoor grill one also once a week minimly. And my children use it too. So, we just have lots of cleanup, but in our family they are extremely helpful. I have a child in after-school activity, that would keep me from cooking dinner. They are saving our budget and we eat healthier at home meals. I did Not buy them at COSTCO, but I did purchase them New. We loved them, that we are getting them for my sister-in-law to take to her as gifts when I visit her.
