Years ago I heard a tip about freezing bread and I’ve been doing it ever since. Place a piece of paper towel in the bag across the top of the loaf. It keeps the crust from getting stiff in the freezer. Works like a charm
YES, coffee PLZ☕️, also I would send a box of Thrive market to my son every month (auto shop) with goodie’s and vitamins while he was a broke college student. He’s a Special ED teacher now. Love your videos 💙
Hi Christine! I just adore your channel and family! I’m a mom too…..we have adopted our 3 kids from the foster care system and our oldest is our 16 year old son……so saving money in groceries is a must for us!!!! We would love to be the lucky recipients of your coffee giveaway…..especially since our youngest is 4 years old and likes to get up REALLY early! LOL
I often go through my pantries and pull out packages that are almost empty. Or ingredients that have been in the pantry awhile that need to be used. I put all those items into a basket on my countertop as a reminder to eat. Works great!
I tell my husband we need another freezer for just bread!! At our discount bread store we can buy a whole buggy full of bread for 7.50 as animal feed but we end up eating half of it. Still good and I just drop it in the freezer like you

We used to buy a truck load for our cows for $20. We had a freezer just for it. We would cherry pick what we wanted out of it. We would get cakes, buns, and bread for a couple weeks or more for 4 families out of it.

@@samanthadodd8112 yes we get bugies of sweets to. Made great lunch box snacks. I would throw those in freezer to
I do the same thing as you. Putting stuff on the counter for the kids to eat. We have leftover nights too. I pull it all out and say this is what you can eat. Everyone has something different but it really works. I have a family of 6 like you too.

Same. I also write a list on paper for the front of the fridge. Divided into 2 categories; What can I eat? and Snacks.
A story for you. Years ago a friend moved out in her own after living with her parents for 22 years of her life. We were talking about groceries & how expensive how food could be. She asked me how I freeze food, in particular bread. I thought she was kidding so.....I told her that I wrap each slice of bread (or bun) in wax paper then put them back in the bag & freeze like that. & Yes she did exactly that. 😆 Now she freezes bread & buns just like the rest of us do.
Love the format of these end-of-month grocery haul recaps, please keep them coming!
I miss coffee, but lost my taste since starting chemo. Praying my taste buds return after treatment! Always look forward to your videos especially your clearance hauls and budget meal challenges!

I hope you are doing well. My sister said that everything tasted metallic so she started using plastic silverware and it helped.
There is one caveat about freezing cheese: it turns crumbly (and sometimes a bit grainy) upon thawing, but that can be just fine if it's cheese that you're going to use to melt or put in salad or use a topping.
"And you want me to touch all of the things." 😆 😆 You seriously crack me up Christine. 😂
If only the clearance prices are as good as what you have. I love that u bring out food that needs to be eaten and put in out for the family to eat. I do that all the time when i clean out my ‘pantry’ to avoid waste.
I am a fellow aficionado of the Kroger digital coupons. 😁 Even though I am a single woman, I picked up the five half gallons of milk too because half gallons freeze SO nicely. I got the pasta and sauce too because why not! It’s not like it’s gonna spoil and when you’re struggling at the end of the month that $2.34 meal ($1.27 pasta + $1.27 sauce) is everything. I browse the 99 cent produce as well! Picked up four navel oranges and several mixed apples for $2.97 yesterday. 🙌🏻 Why would anyone repackage bread for freezing? ITS ALREADY PACKAGED!!! Oh . . . and I would like the coffee please. ✌🏻
I am so glad I found you, Frugal Fit Mom! My Food Budget has been the one thorn in my side! I am super excited to learn how to save money on food! And can I say I love how you tell people to reach out to others if they need food and how you give meals away! You have beautiful values!
Here’s a happy helpful hint for those who’s family are counterproductive in the saving for later thingy. Cook/bake when they aren’t home then package it in an empty container/bag if something they would not snack on. When I was raising my kids I’d whip up the cooking and the baking things then package them up in large frozen broccoli bags or mixed veg bags or any kind of bag/container that they wouldn’t seek out when they are hungry. Then when I would be tied for time I’d whip out a batch of brownies for the son that didn’t tell me the night before that he volunteered me to bring a baked good to the school play or the little league game.

I kept a Dr Pepper hid in my pantry with the mixes I needed for when my son would tell me that he needed baked goodie’s for a bake sale the next day! A freezer would have been a big help back then! My grandmother used to hide her pies in her cupboards so they wouldn’t get eaten before company arrived!
Coffee please to keep this teacher going in the new school year!! Seriously love your channel!
Good morning Frugal Fit Mom. Those Idaho Russet Potatoes sure look good. I like using salad dressing as a baked potato topper. When I fix a steak, salad and baked potato, I usually use French for my salad and ranch for potato. Thank you for the Fridge Tour.
That frozen pizza my family dislikes so much that I replace the "e" with an "i" in my head when I see it at stores. 🤭 Ooo, coffee!!!!
My grocery budget includes everything i need to keep my house functioning ... laundry detergent, dish detergent, paper towels, bathroom stuff, any medicines we need, razor blades, light bulbs.. everything! I'd love to know how much you actually spend to keep your house fed and functioning happily!
Ooooh! Coffeeeee! 🤞 ☕️ Having a garage fridge and chest freezer are the best thing in the whole world. 😂
“”Hey! I want the coffee!” Haha. I’ve been watching your KZread channel for over two years now and you taught me a lot about budget friendly recipes and clearance grocery items. Thanks girl!
I love coffee AND all your tips. You’re helping me pay off my student loans faster than I ever imagined! Thanks for everything!
We love coffee! Also, if you just drop your loaves of bread into paper grocery bags and then toss them in the freezer, you’ll never have the freezer burn issue. The paper absorbs the moisture.
"Her eyes look sad, but her tail is happy." 🤣😂🤣😂
Writing in the “doobalee dooo below”cause… we run on Coffee! Coffee! Coffee! (Or homemade bread 😂) thanks for making such funny relatable videos Christine!! Ps. The fact that you and dawn were both in the RCS recently made my heart happy! Hope you and your fam have a great week 💚

Do you watch Renae Christine just out of curiosity?
I really enjoy this format of seeing what you buy over a month! Thank you for sharing with us!
I couldn't live without coffee, I don't drink pop or sports drinks but a good cup of coffee is a life saver.
Years ago, someone told me that if you place the loaf of bread in the freezer top-side down, then when you take it out, thaw it top-side up on a towel, it will taste just as fresh & soft as when you bought it. I have found that to be true. :) I used to thaw it on a paper towel but now I use a microfiber towel.
Oh yeah grocery hauls video!! This was an awesome video! Thank you Christine for taking time to do all this, and share with all of us. 🙂🙂
Oh my gosh! I love your videos! I binged them when I was pregnant and we used your freezer meal ones to get ready for our little one! That being said, my husband and I would love the coffee! We have a 1 month old and coffee is definitely had at our house…and as you know, getting to the store is tough, so any coffee would be appreciated!
For anyone that it may help, I'm a family of 3 so when I freeze bread I'll open it & put a piece of parchment paper in the middle of the loaf then close the bag it came in & freeze. We don't always go through an entire loaf in a week so I can take out half & put it in a zip lock bag. Sometimes in the past my bread would be difficult to split when in a frozen block so this makes it much easier.
Is life worth living without coffee? I think not! So thankful for your videos. I hate wasting food and I love to see how you throw things together. 🙂 Love the dill pickle salad. I learned I love dill so much, I grew it in the garden this year and am preserving it for winter! Who knew?
I would love to try the Coffee ! Good job on the grocery hauls.
Hey I would love the coffee. I’m a stay at home mom of three and girl I need it lol. Also with bread prices going up so much I’m going to start making our bread again. We also just switched back to cloth diapering again to save some more money. The laundry is never ending lol. Love your channel and you help me more than you know and always seem to ground me when I feel like I’m loosing it.

Hey Cooke! Good for you for cloth diapering! I had 4 babies and cloth diapered as much as I could when I was at home…I worked part time ( I’m a nurse). It is more economical, it keeps so much trash out of the landfill and I loved putting that clean, soft cotton next to my sweet baby’s skin! I even hung out the diapers on the clothesline as often as I could to keep them bright white. In those days, we could buy diaper liners that could be washed and used again but, if really soiled, just thrown away if just too “ awful to handle”!😳😂 I don’t know if they still make them but they were kind of like handiwipes. Anyway, keep up the good work! You will look back and be proud of yourself! 🥰

I have 2 kiddos, out of diapers now. I actually miss cloth diapering. I bought used and stripped the items so they were like new. I loved the little plush butts - way too cute! All my friends with offspring would tease me as I would bring my wet bags and all that with me when travelling (no such thing as travelling light when cloth diapering!). I would buy a little at a time so would cloth diaper part time for the first little bit. Sold my whole lot and made roughly $100 as some of the colours were “hard to find”. But I got them on sale or mystery bags.

You're definitely not loosing it Cooke! Keep up the good work mama! My youngest is four and we cloth diapered too and it saved so much I would do it in a heart beat if my kids were in diapers. They're soooooo expensive right now! You're blessing your family so much making bread &cd. Just wanted to say keep up the good work!
Bread is the absolute easiest to freeze, I swear. In just a couple hours those slices are nice and "moist" (there I said it) and nice and thawed. We do it all the time for my dad. He's the only one who eats sliced bread around here. Mom eats buns, and I eat croissants just about all of the time. We freeze a loaf in pieces of 3 because 3 slices and that's all he can do (he's 75). But it's amazing and the entire bread doesn't go to waste! We buy it, we freeze it. Can't get any fresher than that!
Hi Christine!! I would LOVE the coffee! I absolutely love watching your videos. I wish I had just a small portion of your energy!! You go, girl!!

This grocery haul video was awesome! Our bread store closed during covid and never reopened. Momma of three littles, I run on coffee
I love your grocery haul videos! I find it so interesting to see what people buy and why. I just get a grocery haul on my channel and it was fun to film. You got a big haul for the amount you spent! I’m impressed. 😊
Hey, Britt here, I’m a nurse working lots of extra shifts to pay off debt early and mom of a toddler. I live on coffee….I’d be so thankful to have it:)
I work at a local park and we have summer camp going on right now… if you’re looking for someone to send the coffee to, we will GLADLY accept the gift 😅
Coffee is life! I recently found the 505 tomatillo salsa at Sam's for .91 for a 3 pack. So I bought 2 😂 It was a pretty great addition to breakfast!
We’ve been on a tight grocery budget lately and it will change but I channeled my inner frugal fit mom! I got 7 dinners for under $50 lol 😂 that Included cat food…. And I’m only making pizza dough homemade. Win! I miss our bakery outlet it closed during covid and never reopened it was our last one. Your videos always make me smile. I made your crusty bread and everyone loved it….. I also made breadsticks last week which came out nice and crunchy :)
Love watching your haul!! I love coffee too!!
Hey, I want the coffee! 😂 Christine, you’ve helped me become such a savvy shopper. I bought reduced bananas, tomatoes AND meat at Smith’s (our Kroger) yesterday because of you! We also just got a Winco out by us, and I’ve been loving it. ❤️
Hi Christine! I would like the coffee! Being a mom of two teenage boys I need all the pick me ups that I can get 😂. Love your channel great meal ideas!!
Went to grocery store this morning and find whole milk for 2.39 Fruits and vegetables frozen bag 3 pound for .99 each. Eggs was 1.99 for 12. I spend 23 dollars today.
My wife and I drink coffee every night after dinner and discuss our day. That coffee looks wonderful 😋.
I do the same thing when it comes to freezing bread (chuck it in the freezer as is), but when it comes to thawing, I usually just wrap a kitchen towel around the loaf while it's still in the bag. Works perfectly for me every time, and I don't even turn them over or anything. Just wrap and walk away.
Wish we had these prices here in 🇨🇦 🙂

Oh my gosh! Going through security, I had the WORST time with Monkfruit! It came up as an illegal substance on the initial scan and, even with planning for more time doing extra screening, I ended up having to throw away half a bag because the person trained in that type of screening wasn’t in until half an hour after our flight boarded. Definitely do not recommend!

@@RAnderwill We weren’t going over the border so I’m not sure then… I think because it came up as an illegal substance in the scan, it just requires more security scanning and since the person trained in it wasn’t in yet, I had the option to wait and miss the plane or go on through without it.
Loved it! Thanks for sharing with us!
Always love watching a grocery haul video.

We are leaving for a 10 day vacation in a few days. Because of that the only thing I have bought in the last 2 weeks is milk. I want our fridge completely empty before we are gone. For lunch I just had sliced cucumber, left over ground beef, avocado salsa, regular salsa, cilantro and shaved carrots. It was yummy! We have cleared out most of our kitchen freezer. I will restock from our deep freezer when we return. Thankfully I don't care about eating leftovers and weird combination of foods. My husband is pretty good about it too. It has been nice having to rely on what we already have for 98% of our meals. I think I'm going to continue it for another month even when we return from vacation just to be way more efficient.
Great video! I would love the coffee! Thanks!

I get so many ideas on what to make for dinners from you. So thank you! I go through my freezer and think what would Christine do? Lol coffee is also a amazing thing so if you want to send it my way!
I've had a similar discovery about my freezers and pantry that you have had. My idea that I've started doing for the past few weeks is to do a "Chopped" challenge every week. I did a quick inventory of my stocks, wrote down at least 7-15 different items in four categories (protein, veggies, starches, and mystery), and then started drawing out 5 dinners per week. Each meal has a protein, a veggie, a starch, and a mystery ingredient (like pickles, dried fruit, cheese, or nuts). Some meals have been super easy to create (Indian Fry Bread with Beans, Tomato, Breads, and Herbs). Some have been total misses (like Brats on Buns with a Pea and Pickle salad). But it's helped me clean out a ton from my stocks without spending too much.
