I agree. Been doing some research on healthy eating and trying to eat more whole food plant based SOS free (salt, oil, sugar.) The SOS free part is the most challenging because it is added to so many things unnecessarily. Animal products are also not great for your long-term overall health. Studies show it can lead to heart disease, cancer, diabetes, etc.

It's Kit and Caboodle - the caboodle is the container it comes in, the kit is what's inside. Like a tackle box can be a snackle box or a sewing or makeup kit, the "box" itself is the caboodle. The sewing kit in the cookie tin is a sewing kit, if it's in a made-for-purpose hinged container with built-in pin cushion; it's whole kit and caboodle

LOL, just this morning we had to do a switcheroo with my 11 yo because the size 14 shorts that I JUST had him try were too small/short. Our school does uniforms so thankfully I had 16s that were still too big around the waist so it's a belt that comes in clutch. It also has an adjustable waist to help cinch, but man I feel you with the clothes! And shoes I go to the Nike outlet store nearby. Depending on the style and discount, $25-40 for shoes that will wear well for at least 6 months usually a bit longer. I had terrible shoes growing up, feel it now, and try to do a bit more for my sports loving kids.

I feel the teenage boy clothes pain! I've got that, plus an 11 year old girl who's grown out of the girl's section but isn't proportioned right for the teens/womens section. Recs: Teen mall stores. Hollister, Aeropostale etc... but look for those brands at thrift or consignment. I've also been told Tully's is great for the small teen boy phase, if you have one anywhere nearish you.

I’ve heard about the expensiveness of clothing teenage boys from my son & daughter in law. My grandsons are twins & growing so much. I swear every time we see them they’re taller. So every time they need anything it’s times two, for clothing, shoes, sports related things etc. They also took drivers Ed recently & my daughter in law, said it was over $1,000 for each of them & they now have their permits. She said she hardly gets groceries put away before she has to buy more! I’m not sure where they get their cloths, but they’re tall & skinny too. Good Luck!!

I've been deleting grocery hauls off KZread from large families who are spending $2000 or $2500 and whining about it, and free food pantry hauls which include more good quality meat than I will have the whole rest of the year. I have a lean month, with really careful shopping needed. I knew I could watch your big haul, and the total would not be crazy, and you would have some great ideas. What a score on the brownie mixes!!! It's always fun when Dave is with you.

My son is 9 1/2 and we live in Southern California. So I buy him 5-7 school outfits, 1 shirt with matching shorts. His weekend outfits are 2-3 shirt short combos but maybe little small or last year clothes that have stains or whatnot. Also have 10 pairs underwear and socks and at least 2 sweatshirts. He plays soccer so we have 2 practice uniform sets and 2 game sets. I tend to find pretty good selection for his size 10-12 husky at Kohls ( Kohls cash is amazing!) or JC Penny online. They carry all the sports brands so when I see a deal I just buy it in next size. I put all his outfits folded together in one drawer. Makes it easy for him to get dressed and also this working mom. BTW - our Kohls credit card limit is only what we can pay off each month.

I read the ingredients of everything I look at in the grocery store. Just stay healthy and only shop the outside which is produce and meats and all organic because I don't want to eat herbicides and pesticides. My adult child brought home some potatoes that were not organic and I told them they were sprayed with fungicides right before they went to the grocery store so that they wouldn't deteriorate fast. It looked like they were about to throw up when I told them that. Organic all the way. I enjoy cooking and baking so it's very easy for me to make food and if we want sweets I know exactly what's in the items i bake.

My son will only wear 1 pair of sneakers and they are now bogo at famous footwear. My daughter just wanted 1 pair of sneakers, 1 pair of jeans and 1 pair of leggings. Coconut water--you want to make sure there's no added sugar, just plain coconut water. We don't care for the Costco brand but highly recommend Zico and Real Coco. It's a great natural electrolyte booster instead of Gatorade!

I love the refrigerated Costco Coconut water! It’s not as travel friendly but tastes much better. It might be the best one for someone new to try. It has a pink tint.

My kroger store never has random things on sale aside from bakery and meats. I also have to verify each item as I check out. They are the biggest over-chargers I've ever seen, and they are not cheapest to begin with.

As always, I love your videos! There are shops that cater almost exclusively to teen boys. Regrettably, they are more expensive than the more generic options. Good luck with that; I feel your pain. Here's a tip: bear in mind that kid's feet grow faster in direct proportion to how much you've just spent on their clothes and shoes. Back in the 90s, I spent $100.00 on a pair of Air Jordans for my son. Even though I had gotten him one size too large in anticipation of a growth spurt, he completely outgrew them 2 weeks later.

For the record, I completely believe you. I finally risked it and got my son a pair of more expensive shoes than usual, as he'd seemed to stop growing for a minute a couple years ago, and I thought he deserved some nice shoes. He proceeded to immediately outgrow them, then go through 4 more pairs of progressively bigger shoes over the next 6 months. Needless to say he will be rocking the clearance rack shoes for a while longer lol!

Gas in Maine in our region is about $3.72 although that seems to change daily now. Teen boys' pants are so tricky now! We are able to find a few pairs of Levis in our local WalMart where they carry a huge selection of mens denim, etc. Waist as small as 26! I was a little embarassed when I kept purchasing the largest in the boys dept and they kept getting huskier and my teen is quite thin 😂. Needless to say, finding the slimmer sizes in the mens (and not just skinny pants, my son prefers more "room" 😅) was gold!

I LOVE the Scan ‘n Go at Sam’s Club too, so much that I feel weird and sad when I shop at grocery stores or price club and don’t have to scan the items as I put them in my car. It’s great to pay for groceries on the app and walk to the exit, bypassing standing in line waiting yo be checked out.
