I knew a guy who had his router in the kitchen right next to a microwave. He always would lag or disconnect when his brother made hot pockets. it was hilarious. He would say "Wait don't make those hot pockets" then boom he disconnected.

In my house, the router is in my brother's room, and he kicks me out when I'm in there, so I can't use the Ethernet cable. Maybe situations like mine are reasons why people don't have access to the Ethernet, due to the router being in a room where a person can't just move their PC or gaming console.

Yui Kurata you can create an Ethernet cable for a phone with a normal Ethernet cable & an otg usb cable (phone usb cable with otg function). Most phone usb cables now have the otg function,idk about apple tho. just search right here on KZread "how to create Ethernet cable for phone"

It all depends on how you're viewing the Internet connection. There's the bars, where wifi has 5 of them, or the signal, which is 4 curved waves from an antenna.

Number 2 actually worked for me. I removed some books at the front of the router and the Wi-Fi did actually have a faster connection like 5x better than before. THX SO MUCH

My steam downloads are always 50kbs and it takes a week to download a game.... I'm not sure if the homeowner will let me modify the wifi

One very, very important issue was not listed in this video. Wireless network connection works in half-duplex, which means it have to stop sending data to receive it and vice versa. This is why wireless connection is bad for Multiplayer games.

Check if your router is capable of DD-WRT!! It'll really help, configuring settings, gameranx isn't lying about that and check the channels

Working for AppleCare Support for a year and a half, I've learned that anything functioning on the 2.4 gHZ band can slow down or even disconnect Wi-Fi devices. Things usually include: -Baby Monitors -Microwaves, like he already said in the video -AM/FM radios -Building construction, i.e. Brick walls vs. Drywall vs. Steel walls. -Having 10-15 different devices on the same network. Something else I remember from my college days was that the Wi-Fi router should be in a centralized area of the building, not in the bedroom on the other side of the house. If you HAVE to put it on the other side of the house, you may need to invest in a Wi-Fi Range Extender.

Living with 10+ people in the house all using their phone, ipad , computer at the same time. Do ya feel me? they'll be like on the computer playing minecraft or LOL while watching their ipads fml

My router reboot sometimes at morning making also the updates it needs from the company i am,it is good to do this manually every once in a while.Also this mod with the tinfoils is pretty interesting,i will try it whn i have the chance thanks gameranx dudes.

#1- Reboot your router. I just turn off the router before going to sleep every night (unless i've to download something big). Next day, my router feels fresh and energetic. No need for yoga. Just a good sleep.

Rebooting the router every night on ADSL is not a good idea, the ISP's will see this as an unstable connection and will probably cap your profile (lower your internet speed in effort to reduce disconnects), or put you on interleaved mode (if you aren't already) which will increase your ping times by a significant amount.

Dd-wrt is really cool. It even let's ya use other routers as eitheir a wifi dongle to Ethernet, or ya can use it to repeat the wifi signal strengthen it, nice choise falcon.

+Nick Tank maybe its bhecause the place, i live in ibiza and i have FENOMENAL internet compared to other people, they just installed optical fibre on the centrall city, and were i live i have 7mbs in tests but in downloads i only get 1mb, idk why but i know people that download at 200kb, and we all have new routers, never come to ibiza, it sucks if you like gaming

Pretty sure you can't schedule a reboot on netgear from what I remember. Just reset manually once in awhile easy enough.

i tried that sideways antenna and it made my ping go from 150 to like 30 TY so much

What if you have no antenna

my router/modem slows down after about 6 days to I have to reboot ever 6 or 7 days.

This comment was from 4 years ago... (I've also since moved and thankfully no longer have to use wi-fi) But also wi-fi works just fine tbh as long as your equipment isn't garbage
