I stopped watching Aew for a while bc it hurt too much. I haven’t watched weekly wwe tv in a long time so Aew was all I had left, Wednesday’s were appointment viewing for me. But ever since he passed I just can’t do it, the wrestling world has caused me so much pain, I can’t get myself to watch it on a weekly basis anymore. Just reminds me of what USED to be. It hurt

I love the subtle "good god damn" editing in this video. For "good" it's a shot of Foley, hearkening back to his "Foley is Good" catchphrase. When Adam says "god" it zooms a bit on Mick because of how that "Foley is Good" phrase was created only after fans would often display signs that said "Foley is God". And then Ron Simmons for the word "Damn", doy. Love you, partsFUNknown.

I absolutely loved that Cena vs Undertaker build. It was unique and they told that story to perfection. From Cena’s promo work to the shocking payoff with the squash match it was just brilliant

If WWE announced that match in February of 2018 and did the squash match I to would feel robbed to but because it was “never announced” and was presented as more of an angle then a match I personally didn’t mind it. Plus it didn’t hurt Cena at all

I know we don't talk about the former company Adam B worked for. But the 2016 Survivor Series reaction is something to track down. The two Adams and Jack losing their collective shit as Goldberg battered Bork to buggery in one minute and 26 seconds is a sight to behold.

I want Hiromu Takahashi versus Darby Allen in an, "Who can cause more harm to themselves then their opponent" Match.

I remember Adam reacting to the Brock/Goldberg match. He went from "This is the worst thing in wrestling" to "This is the best thing that has ever happened" to "I don't know what to feel" all in like an hour.

Adam's voice is what I was looking for all week...

All I could think about after Cody vs Brodie Lee was "I looked away, what just happened?" and then I rewinded it and saw Cody get absolutely rag dolled. Then I rewinded it again and watched it again because my brain couldn't believe what my eyes were telling me. Then I rewinded it again because they still couldn't believe what my eyes were telling me especially because it was happening without a crowd to go absolutely mental and I never felt more alone as a pro wrestling fan despite watching it with my Dad every week. RIP Brodie Lee. You will always have this moment and definitive proof that you're better than what the "...out of touch old man who didn't believe in you" thought you were.

My favorite squash match is Shota Umino vs. Jon Moxley at Dominion 2019. It is a squash match that goes less than four minutes, but while Mox looked absolutely dominant, NJPW Dojo Trainee Umino looked fundamentally capable. The difference wasn't necessarily talent, but experience and strength. Thus the match served both to further introduce Moxley and show his dominance to the Japanese crowd on the 2nd biggest show of the year, but without sacrificing any established talent or the reputation of the dojo. Beyond that it served as a storytelling device. Moxley "took a liking" to Umino because of the match and took him under his wing as his tag partner for the lower card matches of the then upcoming G1 Climax tour, which is a better way of providing that to Moxley than simply having him wrestle alongside some dudes from the sekigun segment of the roster.

Just remembered Adam’s reaction to Goldberg vs Lesnar. “Hi I’m Adam and welcome to - Aaahhhhh. What th-aahhh!! What just happened?!”

RIP Mr. Brodie Lee. Genuinely I am so glad to have things like his squash match against Cody.

I'd have to give an honorable mention to a rookie Goldberg squashing Hugh Morris after face tanking his finisher, No Laughing Matter and then doing the Goldberg no sell routine we all fell in love with in WCW. That squash kicked off his career, and his streak, further propelling WCW to the top of the Monday Night Wars for a time.

Adam is the best... I've been following him since his time in WCPW and what culture... And was really happy when he made a return.... Adam you have my respect for making my day all these years....

Here come the absolute comedians who are going to make the "he's invisible" jokes. Hilarious

I remember being a kid and they had Matt Morgan. he was just doing the weekly Squashes, but didn't use that weird suplex into rock bottom he does. He did a match, this must have been like the 3rd squash in or whatever, he gets them up for that suplex slam, but in my head, it looked like the jobber was reversing the suplex into a DDT. Now, i know that was just his finisher, but for a moment i thought WWE was going to spend weeks building up this monster, just to have him squashed by some no-namer the person who they actually wanted to push. That'd be a nice angle if they did it right.

When me and my friend watched Lesnar and Goldberg at Survivor Series 2016, our jaws were on the ground. Still the most shocking match I ever watched.

What a rollercoaster of emotions this list is. After #10 I was prepared to ask "is it appropriate to call it a squash match if the person doing the squashing loses?", but then Razor-Kid shows up and it's like "this guy is the smartest man in wrestling journalism." Very well played once again, Adam.

MJF secretly doesn't want Wardlow to beat Punk so he bossed him around to do 8 powerbombs. The finish is a Bret Hart vs Diesel tribute rollup win. 1. Everyone still wants MJF vs Punk 2. Wardlow's turn on MJF will be so sweet. 3. So mant storylines moving with this match

@@CryoJnik Right because skip Sheffield and David Otunga were future WM main eventers smh. The only member of that group who had potential was barrett. People overrate the nexus burial. There have been far worse uses of backstage power(Booker t at wm 19,sting at starcade 97). At least the nexus lost in a competitive match, cena had to lose to an over the hill undertaker in 5mins.

The crowd was really fun after the Goldberg/Lesnar squash. Toronto has been lucky to have some big moments.

I still remember that Lesnar/Goldberg squash. The men's SS match had gone for nearly an hour and the show was almost over. We were confused what they were gonna do for Lesnar/Goldberg. My friend said it would be funny if it was a squash. I figured they'd never do anything like that. Ha ha. They showed me.

I love just how many different names Adam has for Brock Lesner. They never get old.

My favorite Goldberg-related squash match is actually the one against Wrath (aka Adam Bomb, aka Bryan Clark) from the October 20, 1997 edition of WCW Monday Nitro. Wrath had, up to this point, been largely protected as a monster heel. This is why it was shocking when Goldberg didn't wait for Wrath to remove his entrance gear before spearing the daylights out of him, hitting the Jackhammer and pinning him for the 1-2-3. The best part was the look of shock on James Mitchell (then James Vandenberg)'s face.

That crowd went hype for a 3 minute squash dream match than most of the matches on the Mania 34 card

That's not really a squash match though. It's a fairly even match. But it's one of the better Ladder Matches overall

My personal favourite squash was the time on WWECW that -Viscera- Big Daddy V, in his terrible, tiny, manboob-exposing singlet, squashed 3 pasty, unassuming white dudes at the same time, ending with him throwing the trio into one pile and pinning them simultaneously. In the long run it didn't really do much to get over what was WWE's last-ditch, ultimately-futile attempt to make _anything_ out of Big Vis, but damn if it wasn't hilarious and entertaining for the 5ish minutes it lasted. As one online dirtsheet wrote of it at the time, "Winner: Big Daddy V, via MURDER"

From the joshi side of wrestling, Takumi Iroha vs Mayu Iwatani from February last year would've been a great option too. It's really difficult to make a 20-minute one-sided ambush without getting stale, and Stardom did it with the Marvelous ace going over the World of Stardom Champion, just the best women's match of 2020.
