For those who feel prompted to go out and buy a lot of new beauty items, I wanted to mention one more important “ingredient” - consistency. Many of us have beauty items to address the issues discussed but fail to use them! I typically respond to videos like these by online shopping for a new beauty regimen, yet fail to “shop” what I already have. This video is helpful and motivating, and I don’t think Jennifer would want everyone to go out and buy all these products mentioned. (Especially if it is beyond their means…see her videos on becoming debt free for example). This is not to critique the video, just to present another aspect. I feel it’s important to take care of ourselves and the best advice I ever received was to be consistent. Use that food stone/scrub/shaver every time bath for example and then you don’t have to “catch up.”

LOVE your videos! If like me, you have really dry lips there's only one thing that works, and that's Lanolin! Yep, the same Lanolin we nursing Mom's use for cracked nipples. I didn't believe it when I first read it, but it's true! You wake up with some of the lanolin still on and your lips feel amazing!!! Don't knock it 'til you try it! You'll love it!

Dry oil is new in my routine and I think a French tradition? At least my friend started using it during her time in France. I started using metamorphose new york dry oil and it has been so helpful for making me feel/look polished and refreshed throughout the day. I use it to help control my oily skin actually and have found it so helpful to use in my hair when heat styling. It become so soft and because my hair has more memory, I don't even have to use product, so there is no need to wash for a few days. I love this video and really have been moved this year to really hold on to the idea that we have so much we can already do and have to glow up. Even in our lives... I have so many things already to do an enjoy, that are enriching. I have a box of classical records to unpack from our last move, books to read, recipes to make! Taking care of my skin and hair and nutrition as well. I love what someone said on here... grow your glow. We already have so much beauty we have been given! Why not enjoy it? Why let it slip away from us. I really feel like our lives are like gardens and I see the days slipping by. It's almost like my life has become the neglected garden... yet the joy/hope is knowing that with attention, it can be revived and enjoyed :)

Love this video! The idea of a glow up is so inspirational. I turn 40 this September! Taking about fragrances, I used to work on cruise ships, and there were these guys who were a violin/piano duo. They wore so much cologne you could smell it down the corridor. If they had been in the elevator before you, it was still there, even if the guys were no where in sight!! I love perfume thought, I tried Secret Genius and I love it. They discontinued Burberry Weekend long ago, which makes me so sad. Fragrances are nostalgic. I’m hanging on to my last bottle! 💕

I was thrilled to learn that I am doing most of these glow up tips! I like using Caudalie cleansing oil, and then following up with a CeraVe cleanser - it tends to do a very good job removing makeup, but I almost always need a little cotton pad to remove excess mascara! Great tips!

I’ve Ben double cleansing for years…and you’re right…makes a huge difference. Even if one doesn’t use heavy makeup, the first/oil based cleanse is essential in breaking down SPF, which creates a film on the skin (which is how they’re designed to work). Thanks for another wonderful video!

Yes I have been using these regiments. To properly exfoliate and clean my skin by using the oil as you demonstrate it is a very nice way to moisturize and to create a barrier between your skin and a harsh detergent-like properties and cleansers across the board they have to have some detergent type element to to cleanse and even though some may not be harsh they still can offer some level of dryness so by doing the oil first and then doing that and then doing the exfoliant it is skin saving and nourishing so bravo to you for reintroducing this idea.

This physical aspect of transformation does focus entirely on grooming with a lot of products. I would second the addition of dental hygiene. I have been particular about that my whole life and have a cleaning every 3-4 months. I know there have been a ton of videos on intermittent fasting as well, but why not about strength training and mobility? I am also 41 and have found that adding those to my cardiovascular routine have made such a difference in my confidence and fitness. Especially for women as we age, to help maintain bone density and combat muscle loss.

I do the double-cleanse (recommended by a Parisian esthetician decades ago!) and use two different cleansers--one is the Soap and Glory "Peaches and Clean" cleansing milk and the other is a micellular cleanser for the makeup remover. The cleansing milk has fruit acids which help exfoliate. Loved this vid (but somehow the background music seemed a bit frenetic, so much so that I sometimes struggled to hear you towards the end). Thanks, Jennifer, as always, for the inspiration!

Yes for double cleanse!!!! I have been doing it for several years, and it was great decision. For me, using retinoids is also crucial. I would like to incorporate vitamin C into my routine, but I have read that it is highly unstable component in the skin care, and at the moment, only Skinceuticals has managed to properly make the formula to achieve its stability and therefore effect. But it is above my budget....

I oil cleanse only, with a homemade concoction (usually whatever I have on hand which includes some combination of oils like olive oil, grapeseed, avocado). I like to keep things simple so the fewer products I use the happier I am. I can also use this oil combination for moisturizing, and on my hair and nails/cuticles. I just smoosh the leftover oil on wherever I need it.

You can simply add a toner etc just by dabbing the product to your face and neck carefully with your own, clean hands. No product goes to waste 👍🏻 I also use a Supracor bath mitt that exfoliates skin nicely every day. And finish the glow up with cold-pressed sweet almond oil when my skin is still damp. Perfection! 🧴🛁

First, is a rice water cleansing oil I get from Amazon to remove the makeup and second is Paula’s Choice anti aging cleanser. I also use Paula’s Choice BHA- it’s excellent and gets rid of rough spots! I’m not sure if you’ve ever used Josie Maran argan oil, but it’s great! I love their Face oil at nighttime and the body butter. 💕

Self care through Ayurveda methods, like daily skin brushing, oil massage, showers, tongue scraping and oil pulling for teeth/mouth, nose oils and washes with neti pots, and ear oils and washes all work well in these areas

These are all amazing lux grooming tips. I appreciate them because some I have never heard before but have found very clever. (especially the vaseline on the heels of your feet.) Cant wait to give them a try. Just wanted to add that I heard from dermatologist's not to apply perfume on your neck because of the the drying alcohol effect but not sure the validity/credibility on that yet. But Perfume is a must I love any kind of aroma therapy on or around your environment.

Great info Jennifer ! I agree with all, but I would add using a lash serum to thicken and lengthen lashes, and ensuring brows are groomed. Lash serum seems pricey but it works out to about $10 per month, a lot of bang for the buck.

Hi Jennifer, Thank you for spreading the information on the dangers of aluminum in deodorant; we can also avoid it in our kitchen for better health. Using all natural products more and more as I age is aiding my glow up: real oils on my cuticles, natural creams made with Shea & Cocoa butter plus rich unadulterated oils. Simply, if you won’t eat it-don’t put it on your body. Barefoot in the garden is great for grounding if there are not any harmful toxins used on it. I need to change my profile picture as I’m 54 today and that photo might be 10 years old. All the best, Julie 🌷 PS I’m loving your private community videos-thanks so much!

I double cleanse. Ponds cold cream to remove makeup and then a Neutrogena cleanser recommended by my dermatologist. Sometimes I follow with witch hazel, sometimes with a glycolic acid peel pad. Between rosacea and sebacceous hyperplasia, it gets a little interesting.

What wonderful suggestions! Any unscented recommendations for body lotion? It is so hard to find a good, quality one. Also, I recently had to cut out meat and dairy due to food allergy issues and wow, what a difference in my skin already. I guess there is truly something to be said about that "plant-based glow!"

I like to wear perfume, but worry that it could overpower others who don’t enjoy the scent. So I put on perfume under my pajamas at night. That way I get to enjoy the scent, feel special going to bed, but the scent is either covered by the next day’s clothes or has waned some.

You have to try Weleda Everon chapstick, it’s amazing. Any other lip balm has to be reapplied several times a day, but this is just amazing, I apply it once a day and that’s it. I think it’s because of beeswax that makes a protective layer that prevents moisture escaping.

I do all of these! I like the Ordinary powdered Vitamin C - never oxidizes, which can be a problem for liquid ones. I add it to a serum and apply every morning. I also like DHC Deep Cleansing Oil for the first step of double cleansing. I don't worry too much about added benefits for the second water-based cleanser, since it's just going to be washed off. For mints, I have nano hydroxyapatite ones from Bite - hydroxyapatite is the building block of teeth, so it has added benefits. And, I make my own tallow balm with essential oil and use that everywhere - body, cuticles, heels. Tallow has vitamins A, D and K and antioxidants among other benefits and is a great mousturizer.

@Sara Améstegui Deik I make tallow from beef fat (you can find recipes/methods online, but basically I cook it on low in a slow cooker/instant pot for about 4 hours and then strain. You could also buy it - search online there are many sources, make sure it’s grass fed. I then add in a bit of cocoa butter while it’s warm and olive oil and a few drops of whatever essential oil I want to use. I don’t measure, but play around with the oil and cocoa butter ratios. Some batches are more like a lip balm consistency and some are more body buttery. If I had to give ratios - maybe 75% tallow, and the equal amounts of cocoa butter and olive oil (could also use coconut oil). As for essential oils, my last batch had lavender and citrus oils, though you could use anything you like (as long as it’s not irritating for skin).

I'm 50, been cleansing and moisturizing since I was 13. I now cleanse with a milk cleanser then miscellany water, then moisturise with vitamin C. I don't wash my face often but do use an aha exfoliate weekly. I also drink a cup of warm water with lemon, my grandmother swore by it for detoxing and hydrating skin. Unsure if that's true but a colleague thought I was 40, not 50, on my birthday! (I think she was being very kind!)

Actually a dermatologist I trust has repeatedly said not to use Vitamin C on your skin and instead consuming it by eating fresh fruit. Vitamin C needs a lot of chemicals to stabilize it into a shelf stable skincare product.

I’ve had super-dry lips since I was a kid; I took my first baby-sitting job to earn money for lip balm! I like Laniege pretty well, but using an applicator does take more time. It’s gets so dry here in California, as I’m sure you know, Jennifer, down to 5-10% humidity in the fall, that keeping my skin and eyes moisturized is a problem. I got a humidifier for my bedroom at night for the driest times, that helps, too. (Be sure to get a top-fill style, my first was bottom-fill and ruined the dresser it was on, even with a tray under it). I can drink two gallons of water on hot dry days!

Hi. Thank you for those wonderful tips. I just wanted to comment about bad mouth breath, because the best way to have a fresh breath is by improving our eating habits. The most common reason for bad breath coming from an unhealthy diet and therefore an desbalance gut bacterias and ofcourse we have to keep a good mouth higiene too.
