Felder has to be one of the nicest rockers ever. Grounded, humble, and engaging. Thanks for posting.

Don Felder is a very decent human being and an excellent guitarist. He also has a tireless work ethic when writing and composing and playing music. He has never once in an interview come off as arrogant or brash or cocky. Just a down to earth, very nice man. He has given the world many gifts

My favorite Eagle by far. Without him they would not have their most iconic song. I was stunned when henley and frey did the power grab. The ironic thing is, when he was no longer with what has become the henley eagles, the soul left with him. I see them now on these youtube videos and they just look spiritless, low energy, and the guitar work on some of the songs is just a mess. He and Walsh should NEVER have been separated. But when I see videos of Felder and his band he just seems to be having fun unlike the henley eagles who look like they can't wait to get it over with. He is a great example of, when you play the right notes, you don't have to play so many of them, not that he can't, he just knows when not to. His guitar work is just exemplary of how to make a great record. We now have the henley eagles and the Felder Eagles. I choose the Felder Eagles by far. I don't care how good henley sings, or used to. Felder's guitar still sings great, and He's not half bad on vocals either. 'Nuff said .

I think Frey co-opted Henley for a cash grab and it really ruined the band. Walsh and Schmit became sidemen, but Felder was part of the Eagles Ltd. partnership. They shoved him aside though. Azoff didn’t help either by siding with Frey/Henley over the others… because as band manager, your responsibility is for everyone in the group, not just the Alpha primary songwriters. It’s all about $$$$$ over musical camaraderie.

@@steveparker5406 I agree. My question is always this. They are all multi, multi, multi millionaires. Just how much is enough? Why is greed so insatiable? It's not just them, it's everywhere these days and it has ruined our country.

I haven't felt good today somehow i got on watching Eagles documentary & a lot of the guys by their self . I always thought Don Feilder got screwed , but after listening to both sides I kinda see Henley & Frey side they were one of the biggest bands in the world they started the Eagles and were writing most of the songs all of them were making a fortune hundreds of millions maybe a Billion all together i think Felder thought he was a bigger star than he was & unreplaceable . Henley & Frey decided to get rid of him & are still going on & Feilder really hasn't done much that i care for. It looks bad but i can see there point. If Feilder hadn't written or co written Hotel California he'd be just a side note. Sad situation but i can see both sides ☮️

My second comment. I wrote the first one about ten minutes into the interview and mentioned that when you play the right notes you don't have to play so many and then, lo and behold toward the end of the interview, he talks about that very thing AND a principle I have lived by in the making of all my own CD's, NEVER step on the vocal. I love this guy! Would love to have a cup of coffee with him!

DF quote, "Wonderful to be a classic" and Wonderful to hear you speak Don Felder, you look and sound so happy. Love the Chet Atkins story. You then apply it creating your own style. At 14 you were already a mini Guitar God. Smart small move with huge larger than life results - kimie

Felder, Schmit and Meisner were the chillest guys and Leadon had a great sensibility as well. Walsh was great, but destructive and Henley/Frey were just enraptured by their own overblown egos and their greed was really disappointing.

I think Felder and Joe could have created magic together but I feel like it's easier for Joe to just continue to perform classic eagles songs and his own catalog. After all, he was not a prolific songwriter in the band in the 70s

As a member of the Eagles Don Felder wanted to look at the books. Don Henley and Glen Frey didn’t approve of this scrutiny. Felder inquired about questionable expenses incurred by both Henley and Frey and that’s when they wanted him fired. That’s what I’m disappointed about. Greedy and selfish band mates.

Saw Eagles recently and Joe Walsh barely played. He did a lot of acting but Stuart played most of the guitar parts. When he did play it was not that good. I don’t think he’s the same after the stroke he had.
