The entire tagline of Lake Mungo was "If you've never seen a ghost... Look closer." It couldn't be more blatant.
I think an underappreciated fact of the original Halloween (especially underappreciated by some of the later movies) is that Micheal Meyers is just human. There's nothing supernatural about him. I think that would make him even scarier, but the later films gave this aspect a willful negligence.
The first time I saw 'Halloween', the following morning, I went out jogging by myself. I started following my usual route, only to notice a beige car more or less just like the one in the film seemingly following me. I would turn off one road, but a minute or two later, there was the car again. I went through an area where there were no roads for twenty minutes, and came out to try to head back... the damn beige car came into view behind me again. At which point, I ran heck for sneaker leather, went straight to my college dorm room, and collapsed on the bed to sob for a long time. Nothing else happened, and I never saw that car again, but yikes. It even had some kind of emblem on the front doors. And I couldn't see inside the car, either, whether because of the sun glaring on the windshield or because it was too dark inside the car. I certainly got more cardio than I expected.

That's literally terrifying
Ellie went "Blah" and I giggled like a little kid.... lol
I got one that still creeps me the hell out....In Poltergeist, which importantly was released in 1982, the kids bedroom has a poster for the 1986 Superbowl with a similar color scheme to the two teams that actually played in 1986. Not only that, Superbowl sunday, 1986, is when the young actress who was in that very room, Heather O'Rourke, fell ill and soon died.
I wonder if the bit with the picture in Poltergeist inspired some of the anomalies in the Observation Duty games.
I forgot this wasn't a WhoCulture video and it glitched me a bit to not hear "And in the words of River Song herself.... Goodbye, Sweeties" LOL
Ellie Littlechild is a very cool name.... Am I right?

It's a bit suspect yk? But she gotta nice voice for commentary.. So.. 😅
I was in 2nd grade when my brother took me to see Poltergeist in the theater, thinking it wouldnt be terrifying. THIS is the first time I ever was alerted to that picture frame. OO
Growing up, we watched Halloween on local broadcast tv in the days before cable (yes, I'm old). TV's were squares, not rectangles, so the sides of the picture were cut off. I had no idead about the background car until I saw the movie widescreen many years later

Did you know the TV cut is very different? Several extra scenes, nudity cut out; not sure about violence. I saw it on TV first also, they both have merit.

@@ThomasTallant The same can be said for part 2 as well. Lots of people actually think the tv cut of Halloween 2 is better. Like you said, they both deserve merit 👍
Matt Reeves confirmed that's the monster arriving to Earth.
Speculation on what specifically fell to Earth in Cloverfield aside, I feel like something falling from space that's close enough to be picked up by that camera should have been really hard to miss. I feel like the sound of it coming down alone should have been loud enough to get everyone's attention. Maybe someone with better knowledge of such things can explain it to me, lol.

Maybe everyone who saw it is dead. Or at least most of them.

Look up the Chelyabinsk meteor that flew over Russia a few years ago. Tons of videos of it. It was roughly the size of a house when it hit atmosphere, and was seen from a long distance off and caused quite a bit of damage. The thing is, the only reason most people would have noted it beyond it being visible from a far distance was that it hit over land. Out in the water it would be an interesting subject mostly to the people that study these things and shrugged off as a minor curiosity to anyone else. Sound, however, doesn't really travel as long as one would think through air before it becomes indistinguishable from background noise. Through water is a different matter though, a fun one to look up in that regard is "The Bloop".
The hidden spirals in the japanese movie Uzumaki. Once you spot a spiral shaped cloud in the sky, you know that these might be hidden anywhere.
JJ Abrahms actually confirmed that it is the monster coming to Earth. I thought it was a satellite that woke the monster up lol
I swear you guys have done this list at least three times already.
It’s a good thing you pixelated that chest burster scene. You can’t tell what’s happening in it….😉
I always remember the assblaster in Tremors 3 scaring me when it comes out of nowhere while the girl was hiding on the roof.
Thought that was Daniel tosh for a sec Edit: thought the Tom Brady hertz add had comments enabled

great
Well, Kathy Nightingale ended up in Hull in that Dr Who episode.
Not the best movie but Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows has so many easter eggs in the background that they had to do a whole bonus feature on the dvd for them.
Can someone explain why she called poltergeist a "horror nepo baby"? I'm confused
We have Hull FC fans....thats more then enough monsters.
Christ, this list is awful. Another loss for Ellie.
Personally - I find two less obvious things in "Saw" scary for more B-Plot or background points. 1) The removed flesh puzzle pieces from dead victims is part of the original B-plot, but we find out in another movie that living victims get to keep their puzzle piece sometimes (because we see Amanda still has hers). 2) John's notebook in the hospital scene - nuff said.
I don't think that's a crew member in The Ring. I think it's supposed to be Rachel's sister. That's whose house she's picking up her son from.
First
What does scary monsters do again?
Okay, this is cheating. I can't watch the Donnanthon, so I figured WhatCulture vid would be fine. But you snuck a horror video in under the regular brand. I don't like horror. It's a fine effort, I'm sure. But still, not cool. Literally nothing I could have done to avoid it. (You could have stopped watching) Absolutely nothing.
Wrong channel
I'm sorry but it follows was trash 0 scares no real tension just a sad mess
