    I'd eat the pop and my older friend would literally DRINK the syrup. But we were cool with it bc she didn't like the pop and I didn't like the syrup. It was a fair trade.

    Just letting you know, that grape lollipop is actually a Juicy Drop pop, very well known candies here in America. And they have a small, oval shaped divot on one side for the sour drops.

    In the Southern USA - Boiled Peanuts are a Common Snack. From original salted to spicy - we LOVE them so much they're even available in a can from the grocery.

    My co-worker would bring a can of those to work and heat them in the microwave. I thought they smelled vile, he said cause it was the brand or the microwave. I didn’t believe him cause he had no taste receptors. He could only tell heat from sweet. He liked the texture of them.

    @@FlowerGemsGirl I agree 💯. The canned ones not only smell vile - IMO they taste like aluminum can & sadness. Fresh out the kettle from a vendor or homemade is the Only way I'll eat them.

    The Danes would be mortified with the petrification of their beloved Danish pastry. Good for you to have tried though! There isn’t enough condensed milk in that would that would re-hydrate that crust! 😂

    Usually I watch the balcony taste tests and feel hella jealous, but this time there was 3 things I've tried! I eat the Mexican & Vietnamese versions of that tamarind candy all of the time. I love it! In the Deep American South, boiled peanuts are LIFE! You find pots boiling away at farmer's markets and convenience stores. & the lollipop with the sour drops is called Juicy Drop in the US.

    The boiled peanuts are very common in the south of the US.. they often put other flavors in them too... spicy usually..also those lollipops with the drops also are in the US, too.

    Those candy drops use to sell here as well. There is a shallow little dish in the lolly pop to put the drops. This way your hand doesn't get all sour-sticky :)

    I'm surprised the banana puffs aren't common in America! We have dehydrated banana chips and those are one of my favorites. I would LOVE to try the puff version!

    How do you keep your sweetened condensed milk so... usable? I don't think you can leave it out in room temperature safely, and if you refrigerate it, the stuff won't pour or flow!

    We have the same sour drops candy in the United States. It even looks the same. You’re supposed to hold the lollipop sideways and drop the drops in the little divot hole thing.

    I noticed the seaweed i bought recently was quite a bit thinner than normal, with lots of holes in the seaweed it was so thin. Everything seems to be less lately. Seaweed is a favorite snack of mine 😊

    I don't know why this popped into my head, but it's usually best to put stuff in the microwave as far out in the tray as possible - most microwaves have hot and cold spots just because of how the actual microwaves bounce around (and how companies don't really care about solving that because it still works), and if something is moving as much as possible it gets a more even exposure compared to something that doesn't move much and may occupy more time with things sitting in those hot and cold spots.

    The tin that the pineapple jam biscuits came in reminded me of the old timey Nestle Quick chocolate and strawberry milk powder that I positively loved as a kid! But let me tell y'all in advance, American 7-11 has nothing on Asian 7-11. I imagine that any Asian person going to an American 7-11 would be this side of horrified as well as disappointed. Which is why, if ever you come to Texas, you need to go to Buc-ee's instead. Buc-ee's is a Texas institution along with Whataburger and I highly recommend both places to you and your lovely wife!

    I see boiled peanuts are an international snack, LOL. I live in the Southeastern US, state of Alabama, and boiled peanuts are sold at roadside stands, in cans, and several other ways. Not my favorite snack, but to each their own, of course! 😁
