I taught my mom how to knits socks from Crazy Sock Lady’s vanilla DK pattern. Highly recommend, and makes it easy to customize with your own ideas for texture or cables. Thanks for the video, I’m now inspired to knit some DK socks for gifts too. ❤️

I wear DK socks pretty much everyday in the winter! These were a lot of my faves! I’m not typically a repeat knitter, but one other DK sock that I’ve probably knit 7 times now is the High Desert Socks by Lindsey Fowler! They are a fun way to play with color combos! But maybe not the best fit for your DK yarn since it’s a marled pattern ☺️

Fingering together with mohair makes good DK socks. I knit mine on 3.5 mm needles. And you can use fingering without nylon as the mohair provides the strength.

Love all the inspiration! I have been thinking about making DK socks for awhile. Mainly because I love the mountain mama DK sock from bloom & create. That is one that is definitely on my wishlist. I have made some of summer lee's sock, but not the DK socks. But I do really like her patterns and gifted them and they always fit well. Curious to see which one you will choose :)

Haha I am literally wearing my bear paw socks now! They are a fleegle heel and I dont mind the way the rib feels under the foot but you could probably modify it to stockinette on the bottom half if you’re worried. These are actually the only pair of socks I have ever knit and finished so that is a pro! I liked knitting them and I like the versatility of the pattern

Okay I knew someone would have made them! Maybe I’ll just have to try them out!

I just knit the DRK everyday socks over summer and that the was the first time I ever knit a sock using the fleegle heel. I've heard that it's a universally well fitting heel and it was very easy to knit! Then in terms of the ribbing underneath the heel and along the entire bottom of the foot as well... I wasn't sure about it but I don't hate it. I don't think it's my favorite sock texture but I actually don't find it very bothersome, HOWEVER, that is the fingering weight version. I might be a bit fun shy about knitting an all over ribbed sock as a gift in DK weight without trying it myself first. Well, that's my review (and thoughts) on the ribbed sock and fleegle heel after having worn these socks in boots, shoes and slippers. Happy Holiday making!
