What do you prefeer. Smelly (and wet) or filthy (and covered in mud) trail dogs. The garden sprayer can help there too.

This may only be a problem here in Australia but if you tie zip ties to your helmet and have the extra bit sticking up it is a good deterent and the birds won't swoop

TIP / HACK IDEA - If you want to use a fuel station / garage tyre inflator to seat your tubeless tyres but you don't have a Schrader to presta converter? You can take the dust cap off your presta valve cut the top 5mm off the dust cap then thread it onto the valve upside down using the newly made hole and it converts your valve from presta to schrader. Its a really handy tip if you don't have your own air compressor

I love watching channels hit 1 million subscribers but you Seth definitely deserve it. The only channel and host that really geniunely has true TV worthy content. The quality and comfy aspects of this channel and all the quirks really makes me wanting more. Congrats Seth and thank you for opening up my world to bikes. I don't have anything insane but my budget builds and restorations have been super fun. I really want to see you use that fat bike. Lol Happy 1 million!!!

Seth (and every person ever that uses zip ties), there's an electrician's tool that are fondly referred to as "flushies" - meaning flush side cutters. There are a few brands but the brand I've been using for years is Hakko: Hakko Micro Wire Cutters. These eliminate the need for Xacto knives or box cutter blades to get your zip tie cuts nice and flush and not have those awful, pointy ends that just destroy your hands and legs. 5 bucks. And they come in multi packs. They're small enough to fit in a hip pouch or one of those"water bottle" tool kits if you ride with that. Just thought I would point you towards them because I know I hate getting cut by those zip tie ends. Happy riding and thanks for all of the years of great content!

Here's a hack I used for a long time: if you only have clipless shoes you can cut a piece of old tire to fit in where a cleat normally goes and bolt it on then use them as flat pedal shoes

Hey Seth, one idea I saw from a buddy is to use a worn down low tread tire, cut it, and temporarily zip-tie it to a saddle. It keeps your bum from sliding around on the seat. After a big snow or rain the trails are muddy and this will give you more confidence. I'm a downhiller at heart and don't usually use my seat but I'm sure many people would find this useful. Come ride Trestle Bike Park in Colorado!

Since youre hurt again heres an idea. Do a budget build useing used parts, new parts, or stuff from online. Preferably not from sponsors unless it fits into the theoretical budget (so no 5c frame or mission pro). It can be a hartail or a full sus. Both could be really cool. The idea is to bring back that botched together kinda feel that your old bikes had. I think it could be an amazing project and you have all the time in th e world now due to the injury, so i hope you give this some thought. Thanks for reading

I picked up an XCT Concept full sus 21 speed on a Facebook listing and rode out to get it from 20 miles down the road. Nice day, so I rode out on my workhorse Trek 3700 which has a custom chainstay trailer hitch on it with the intention of taking them both back on the train. When I got there, the owner was waiting for me with a two litre pitcher of lemonade - made from fresh lemons! She must've been pressing them all morning! So she left me to figure out how to get both bikes the two miles to the train station while she finished packing her house into a u-haul. I was still trying to figure it out after she left, then it hit me... Thirty feet of paracord later, I'd tied the front wheel of the XCT to the chainstay, resting it on the hitch bar, and to the seat post, and the headtube to the pannier. The rear wheel of the XCT would be rolling on the road. I rode it back like that, a super bendy tandem. When I got back I wanted to do another forty miles! ...All the XCT needed was air in the tyres and the brakes and gears tweaking!

@@boomerangfreak i got pearl izumi shoes that are for both flat and clipless. Just take the cleats out and out the flat pad thing back on. I rarely use them without the cleats though.

Great video! The bike hacks are what got me on this channel originally. For the hitch rack, a ubolt around the reciever and the hitch mount works better IMO. They also make a variety of products called anti rattle kits or hitch slop reducers. All under $15.

hey seth, love your hack videos(: you can store an extra master chainlink in the bottem side of the pedros tire levers and secure them with a single layer of ducttape. it doesn't add any weight and the link is prodected from the elements. works for other small parts as well. i discovered that little hack when is was putting my "no-backpack-setup" togehter (:

Love the pump sprayer trick. I use this when the hose is off for the winter and need to wash my bike. Also, in Michigan, cutting aluminum cans is blasphemy. That shit is valuable lol.

Learn what doesn't work is as helpful as learning what does work.

Leave the new tire in the sun for an hour & it'll be soft & pliable & much easier to mount or take off. Add some rubbing alcohol to the soapy water to evaporate the water with the soap.

I like your idea, the way seth does in removing tires can damage or bent the rims but what i usually do is the fire trick.

It may seem off topic, but I think many of us would really like to see a little bit of your video workflow process. You don't need to do a deep dive into your editing process, but just a good overall summary from shooting, organizing all the footage, overall edit process, and then particularly of interest to me, storage. You must have thousands of hours of raw and B footage from your videos. How do you store so much data? Cloud? RAID? Multiple hard drives? How are they organized so you can find that clip from a few years ago that you want to reference on a current video like you did here with the SoFla footage you put up? Again, not a deep dive. No need to give away trade secrets, but I do a lot of filming myself just for fun and for my own consumption and I'm starting to struggle with storing and organizing it all. I'm a big fan! I even ordered some SBH and Drama decals for my bike rack! :)

Finally I know what the hook is for on tire levers. I've been hooking it on the rim which isn't as useful.

Seth, I wanted to share a tip I would love to see you share. When cutting the tag end of a zip-tie/ty-rap, instead of using side cutters that leave a sharp edge, use fingernail clippers to cut it flush. Give it a try! I learned this a few years back and it works great!

Hey Seth. Big fan of the channel. I’m a BMXer and I find I used most of the tips in this video however maybe for another video if you could show some tips that all bike classes could use for example grip installation. Although that’s easy enough that sort of video where all riders could relate would be helpful. Thanks dude. Happy riding.

I always carry tape. That 1" gorilla tape is good (good for rim tape if an issue). Awesome idea for the garden sprayer!!! Any idea how many YEARS I never knew what those hooks were for?!? Finally leaned to use those last year lol! I use an old movers blanket for a tail gate cover. Got it for free and can be folded over. I'll check out this foam, though. That movers blanket is a mess when it gets wet and is bulky. Great suggest on camera mounts! I have broken those plastic mounts by over tightening. I keep a dollar bill in my bike bag. Fold up and tape over a torn tire. Wont get you real far, but may keep your tube in (you do carry a tube, right?) To get back to the truck. Had a buddy slice a sidewall and had to make the walk of shame.

Loved the canine containment contraption! Of course... I no longer will be using it as we now have 3 cats that don't like car rides.😇😎😀

I love your videos for new riders, my kids and I watch them religiously. Maybe one about what type of trails are good for new beginners or what to avoid as a new rider. I’d also be interested in what tire pressure to use on different trails, you mention it a lot in passing but more explanation would be nice.

They make a lace holder for soccer cleats to keep your laces in place. It is a durable rubber and works great for biking
