I think that we (fans) often complain about Cain not adapting to altitude, but we often overlook (or forget) to praise Werdum for preparing 150% for the fight and acting like a true professional by thinking before about all potential factors that could impact his performance. Werdum was already a father at that time and he said that moving months prior to Mexico to adapt to the altitude was a big sacrifice for him. Werdum truly deserved the big win that night. Kudos to Werdum!

So hey, did Strickland call Volk a p**** for being wealth af and having the nerve to say he has mental health problems…he even started to cry in front of everyone at the post fight presser. So he must be the biggest beta male in the world according to Sean “trying to beat down syndrome and losing” Strickland. Seriously though, I love Volk, man. Those two KOs back to back now…are just…idek lol but as much as I would like to believe that Volk just kinda got screwed by circumstances…I think his age played a masssssive part it in. There’s only ever been 2 wins for guys at 170 or less in championship fight at the age of 35+ and both of them came from T-Wood at welterweight. So yeah, it just seems to be a hard cut off for the smaller guys at that age…

Volk doing that is the number 1 mistake for me. The dude had an incredible run, but I don’t believe the short notice fight is the reason why he’s been KOd two straight fights…or why he seems to be on the decline. The better fighters won…and Volk is getting old, man…

To be fair tho we need to look at this as if we were in that moment. It’s VERY easy to look back in hindsight and say that was an awful matchup and a career-altering decision. Hindsight is always 20/20. But at the time we thought Tony was unbeatable and even thought he’d be Khabib’s biggest test. Nobody could’ve seen this outcome back in early 2020. Well to be fair, Dominick already had three serious knee ligament (ACL) injuries, a torn quadricep and a broken rib, additionally, he was also suffering with a very painful muscle condition called plantar fascia tendinitis (which affected the muscle going down his foot) which multiplied during the training camp he had for Cody Fight, he couldn't even walk with ease. Look I'm not making any excuses for him, it was his call given on how he felt at the moment, regardless, I think he should've been at least mentioned on the list for the sake of times he had to push himself to fighting despite of all the injuries. I understand how a similar argument can be made for all the times he won even after having injuries, (like a torn ACL before Dillashaw fight) but we have to understand that all these things were worsening and accumulating over time, resulting in a Cruz who eventually fell to Garbrandt (who was 8 years younger than him), not to mention his inactivity following that fight (also the dude's like 39 rn).

A super underrated one is Aldo taking the fight with Merab instead of waiting/angling for a title fight with Aljo. Jose was on a 3-fight winning streak against top competition and had a legitimate case for a shot without his legend-status. He was also a horrible stylistic matchup for Aljo and had a solid chance of winning and retiring as a double champ. Instead, a fighter known for not having great cardio, accepts a fight in high altitude (everyone gassed in that card) against a dude named THE MACHINE. He was doing great against Merab in the first round and half… and just lost on activity. Super high risk for super low reward…

Well DC is such a company man so they offered him a bank to fight Stipe again. They knew it would sell and he thought he could take him out again easily and put the ultimate stamp on his legacy by beating the HW best of all time at the moment. After the loss he wanted to retire on top and once again was offered another Bank and thought he was winning and could take him and knew it was his last and tried to retire on top and get one last multi million dollar payday. So he took a shot at greatness and I respect that and he would have regretted it if he didn’t so I dunno about putting it on the list.

Seeing how long Dillashaw is out due to surgery, thats the worst for me. If he would have pulled out and got the surgery when he needed to, he would probably leapfrog Merab for this upcoming title fight at significantly better health than his showing vs Aljo

With the levels of f**ked up his shoulder is at, I'd be surprised if any commission ever clears him to fight again. His career is as good as dead. And after those two dumb moves of going down to 135 and fighting Aljo knowing he was on one arm, that's probably for the best

I remember Jon Jones coming back a few events before the TJ/Henry fight. There were talks that Jon gave up some key information to work his way back to the cage. Then a few months later TJ gets popped for EPO, which is not something USADA would normally test for in fighters. The snitch and greatest of all time, Jon Jones.

The silver lining is when Jones retires after beating a washed up Miocic, he is going to be heavily criticized by fans for avoiding Aspinall, Ngannou and all the cheating he's done throughout his career.

Do you take suggestions from non-Hall of Fame people? I would be interested in content about how PED testing works in the UFC in a post-USADA world. Are there still tests? Are the some kinds of loop holes to get around it?

I honestly side with GDR. If UFC is going to do fuck all to punish steroid cheats the fighters have every right to just flat out refuse to fight them. Don't give a shit if they created that division for her or not.
