Batman #1 was the Joker's first appearance, not Detective Comics #1. Batman wasn't even in Detective Comics for the first year or two.

My largest issue at that point is that TDKR isn't mainline universe, and Batman definitely didn't win that battle. Superman didn't want arrest him, but has order from government so basically he deliberately become punching bag being as inefficient as possible. On the other hand Batman did try force Superman to become independent by making him feel guilty for killing him. But he obviously needed make whole thing convincing, so it was long battle full of many words. Even Frank Miller said that if Superman would want kill Batman, he would be dead in a second.

Giffen, there is no R in the name. The best thing anyone could punch, including Batman, would be Ewen. And that's MY one per list.

The best punch by far was when he punches the new god Metron the smartest being in the DC universe. By convincing him he never experienced being human metron gets off the Mobius chair and turns himself human. With 1 second and 1 punch batman knocks him out and takes the chair.

As I am sitting here watching this video with one cat at my feet and one lying on the cpu next to me, I take more delight then I should in the punching of the SWAT member who fired on the cat. (annoyingly I understand the reasons for punching the horse and dispatching the wolves. Doesn't mean I like it though.)
