As someone with CKD and a former dialysis nurse, I find some of this "information" wrong. You should not drink 1.5-2liters of water daily; the reason being is that your kidneys are already working overtime to filter out toxins and excess water with kidney patients is usually retained causing swelling. Secondly there IS such a thing called water intoxication in which consuming a gallon of water a day or even less, flushes out too much sodium which leads to seizures. There is water in juice, and a lot of fruits and vegetables such as watermelon, cucumbers, celery, tomatoes, apples which should be counted in your water intake. Also it's inaccurate to say that sleeping too much is bad for your kidneys. Everyone has different sleep needs, whether it's 7 hours or 9 hours. Sleep is essential to healing and kidney patients are usually more fatigued than the rest of the population so get the rest you need and don't go by a video.

I have found out by doing more water flushes out the edema. Long as that works I think the flush out method is better than fluid restriction

She thinks the numbers they give in this video are too high. In one year, she has brought her kidney function back to the low end of normal kidney function. Everything in this video is important and must be used together to get the best results.

I had kidney cancer in 2012, left kidney removed and follow all of the 10 talked about in this video. I had to do my own research as I didn't get info except eat fruit/veggies/drink water from my dr....one thing you need to find out based on your numbers, using a hard copy of your most recent blood work is how much potassium, sodium, phosphorus, and protein for your individual kidney function level. from a renal dietitian. You also need to stay away from beef. I have anemia, so I do eat grass fed beef a couple of times a month and stay within my protein level which is 40grams a day. To save money and the planet, I bought a brita jug/water filter for my water intake. No Coke! or dark colored sodas. I've had some close calls, hospital stays, gfr went down to 8% function, it's now back up to 24% mainly with diet and healthy lifestyle. Personally, I'd advise Everyone over 30 to have a kidney function test added to their yearly physical as there are No Symptoms of kidney disease....be your own advocate as most kidney dr's or regular dr's don't really care much about function until you get to stage 4. Best Of Luck 💜💜💜

If you get a yearly blood test as post of a physical, look for the eGFR (filtration rate) number. My primary doctor let me go for 6 years with an eGFR of less than 60, which shows kidney damage. I had no idea what that number meant until this year when I looked it up. But by then I was at stage 3b, fighting to not get any worse. You have to be your own health advocate.

What’s done is done, but I don’t want to have dialysis. I do most of my own cooking. I eat very little meat- mostly chicken. My blood pressure is controlled by medication since I’m overweight. Carnivore diet has helped me. All Meat high salt. Been doing it for over 7 years and all my numbers are fine. I personally believe that most doctors are giving out the wrong information. I do a salt purge about every 6 weeks where I use no salt for 2 days and drink more water. But outside of that I go through a lot of ancient sea salt and it's all red meat, butter (unsalted) bacon and eggs. Carnivore is also Oxalate free. That damages kidneys too. Worse food is spinach. Sorry Popeye. Very high in damaging oxalates.

Two KZread people would be Dr. Ken Berry and the famous Jordan Peterson (and/or his daughter) Didn't smoke or drink too much but it's been astounding how my body changed. 70 years old. Get off of sugar (real and sweeteners) Cut your carbo's down to nearly nothing and that's the best foods for your liver and kidneys. And it automatically brings in collagen which I can tell my skin is much better.

Don't over drink water ,btw.As that's bad for your kidneys & way too much water consumption actually cause bleeding in our brains !! That is if you do drink gallons of water a day ,though ! There are cases of those & people have died from it !! You can google it ! Eat a lot veggies ,especially organic if you can ! And fruits like berries & apples 🍎 as they heal kidneys !! They used to believe once a kidney got impaired, there was nothing we could do about it ,but more recent studies showed that actually kidneys are healing & repairing themselves more than they believed !! It depends on where / what part of a kidney got damaged . Phosphorus from plants doesn't deteriorate as much as phosphorus from animal proteins / products does !!! You should watch UCLA nephrologist videos !! They explain this very well ! Avoid processed foods like deli hams ,sliced cheese ,meats over all ,animal products. Eat lots of veggies !! If you still wanna eat some meats ,then stick with chicken thigh meats as they're the lowest in phosphorus among meats !! I used to cook chicken thigh meats & feed my cats !! Do not consume a lot of nuts & seeds as well as dairy products as they are SUPER HIGH IN PHOSPHORUS !! Some fish are ,too ! Eggs are healthier ,especially boild eggs !! Two boiled eggs contain only under 200 mg of phosphorus which I eat everyday !! ORGANIC .I truly believe eggs are the healthiest animal product !! It gives me energy & all the nutrients- vitamin C ( egg doesn't have vitamin C ) !! Shitake mushrooms are very good for kidneys as well as onions that ease kidney infections. Shitake mushrooms ( sun dried ones ) are an excellent source of vitamin D as well !! I am vegetarian. I am very prone to kidney stones since I was a kid ,I strongly believe I inherent it from my grandmother who had kidney stones ,too ! I impaired my kidneys by taking too much Motrin for several months for my dental issues in the past . Good luck to you & stay healthy !! I love truck drivers ,you guys have good hearts !! My mom has always been telling me that ,too !! 🙏💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞

Easiest way to figure your water intake? Whatever your weight is, cut it in half and change it to ounces. Example: weigh 200 lbs. cut in half 100 lbs. make 100 lbs into 100 ounces.

We can know how much we need to drink water by the thirst & urine colours/ output. If too yelleow ,or orange ,you are dehydrated ,or your urine is too concentrated = can form kidney stones !! If brown = way too dehydrated !! You need to drink water right away !! Never under/ over drink water !!! Not gallons ,not under 7 ,or 8 cups a day !! 💧💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞

The maximum for any person would be 125 oz per day and that is very high. Then you should never drink more than one bottle of water per hour. It depletes your salt... While high salt content is bad, your body needs salt. It's part of the electoral light and electrical exchange in your cells. In fact, without sodium you can't open yourselves to receive water....

I live with a chronic disease that causes chronic pain, so much pain that I struggle to walk most days. I assure you that none of the other suggestions you mentioned help in anyway shape or form with chronic pain. I've tried them. So sadly, in order that I can physically function, I have to take certain prescribed pain medication. I did stop taking nsaids, as after 20 yrs of being prescribed them, a doctor was honest enough to finally tell me how dangerous they are, yet only after being told that Naproxen has caused me to have angina. What I find shocking is that I wasn't told at the start of taking them that they can cause issues.

@andyman8630 THC makes me incredibly paranoid. I've discussed CBD oil with a specialist who looked at me as though I abuse drugs. Most Gps are not willing to discuss it. I purchased some once from a well-known health store in the UK ( Holland and Barratt). Yet after researching their brand, it became evident that the dosage and price were not balanced. It was incredibly watered down to where it would not assist a Nats' health issues. To be honest, I'm unsure where else I can purchase it at much higher strengths, without the THC of cause.

Just a 'heads-up' warning: My kidneys started shutting down when I used a 1 oz doze of cheap (99 cents CDN/2 litre bottle) tonic water on a nightly basis, as it did a wonderful job of keeping my night-time leg cramps at bay. Stopped the tonic water night-time ritual and my kidneys, thankfully, recuperated. There was no gin or other alcohol involved, as if I had, I would have ended up on dialysis or died in my sleep, as kidney failure makes you very tired and you can't think straight. Glad to tell you I am still in the land of the living, caught it in time ...

    1) I am prescribed 2x2 500mg Paracetamol per day (2 morning + 2 evening) 2) I have cut down on salt so have very little. (+I Don't add any to my foods) 3) I was guilty of this but not since my kidneys dysfunction diagnosis. (In 2022 I was told by my Nephrology Consultant that my kidneys were only working at between 15% - 16%) 4) guilty again, but I sleep when I'm tired which, as a retiree, I can easily afford to sleep whenever and however often I want...& I do. 5) NOT guilty this time!! I eat Quorn, occasionally chicken (breast meat only) _very_rarely beef /(steak), _no_ pork, _rarely_ back bacon, _no_ streaky bacon and _no_ lamb, various vegetables and fruits - though _not_ bananas, or _too_many_ potatoes😢, as am told they contain too much potassium which is bad for my kidneys. 7) I rarely eat processed foods these days, and had already reduced my previous consumption of processed foods about eight to nine years ago. 8) I have arthritis and decreased / limited mobility making exercise the main problem. 9) I Have Never Smoked. Ever. 😊 10) I drink a _max_ of two -to- four glasses of white wine _per_ _year_ - _max_ of two at Christmas + _max_ of two on my birthday: August. (I was _70_ in August 2023). 😊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿❤️🖖

Well as a retired Registered Nurse I cannot agree with much of this video because it does not take into account the age of any individual - like myself who are over 75 years old because many people have problems for example with their bladder habits and I find that I have to get up during the night to empty my bladder at least three times a night so that blows my sleep pattern and it is usually taken that the older individuals on average do not get as much sleep as those who are much younger. So the advice given here should e researched thoroughly before one goes along with this advice and advice from your doctor should be the first port of call before you do anything about your fluid intake.

You might knew all of things I stated here in my previous reply . But,I realized that I forgot to mention a few things ,so I say here . The least phosphorus contain foods from animal sources are egg whites , cream cheese ,then chicken thigh ,then the whole egg .I eat boiled organic 🥚 everyday !! But ,if you do egg whites more ,you can drastically reduce the amounts of phosphorus daily intake !! But,whole egg is healthier when it comes to nutrients we get as an egg is almost complete for nutrition, just vitamin C is missing !! We only need a palm size of food for a daily protein amount per meal !! 3 times a day !! If you replace those to plant diets ,you dramatically reduce kidney damages !!! But, be careful with nuts ,beans ,seeds !! Because they are very high in phosphorus, but yet they don't deteriorate as animal products do !! Hope these will help you a lot !! 🙏 💕

Yes,sleeping is the most important thing for everything & the no.1 key to a healthy living !!! That's why we find people suffering from kidney issues/ diseases amongst people who work at night like hostess/ host at clubs ,night club workers ,bartenders ,etc. Because they don't sleep RIGHT ,it's not just hours ,the quality & the time frame matter !!! As liver / kidneys are still working at nights ,but less !! But staying awake put a lot of pressures / stresses on them to make 'em work harder !! Also not sleeping right / well causes us to gain weights & that's real bad for kidneys, liver & heart !! Pancreas ,too ! Phosphorus intake is the next we have to watch !! Phosphorus in plants doesn't deteriorate kidneys as much as phosphorus from animal products !!! And organic is better for this ,too ! ( do less damage on kidneys if phosphorus came from organic sources !! ) So,if you eat organic vegan diet ,then you can dramatically reduce the kidney damages !! 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞

Streesss filled my life because of covid, my vit d level was 8.... i used to smoke a lot but i stopped years ago. But i couldnt sleep for the longest time. I ate a lot of meat everyday. I got high gout. I started bjj while i was super obesse and i think i over trained hard. At one point i was eating a lot of dog fruit which is very high in pottasium with a lot of salt.... now i have proteinuria. Albumin leaking protein in my pee. There was signs but i didnt even notice it. My skin behind my ear was so itchy plus my fingers was so itchy. I noticed my pee was frothy for months and then i started searching. Wish i took notice earlier. Take care of your body before its too late. Now im trying my best not to make it worse. The doctors just said come back when it gets worse!!! Didnt even give options for change of diets. Even another doctor told me i should eat more protein becasue im loosing it in the pee. I swea the doctors just wants you on dialysis so they can make money off you!!!! Sad world. Thanks to youtube im learning alot about how to not make it any worse than it is now. Even now maybe once a day i might pee and its clear. The rest of the day its frothy if i eat things eith salt of too much protein. If i eat too much vegetable my gout flare and it hurts. Whats working for me is apple cider, flax seed, cordycep and reishi mushroom. I was taking arb losartan too and statin but i stopped statin. Instead i took niacin and nattokinase. Losartan im stopping now, its been 2 days without losartan. I was taking losartan 50mg everyday for 4 months now. Also taking vit d3.... also fish oil but i also substitute with earing fish instead. My son is only 8, i hope i can see him with a child one day. My country has bad laws with transplant so maybe i would never be able to get a transplant.
