Highly misleading. Almost all country especially Europe and North and South America take bread especially for breakfast. Does it mean that most of citizens in these countries will have kidney damage? Very confusing video.

It’s important to note that eating bread isn’t a direct cause of kidney disease. But for kidney disease patients , it's important for them to keep track of anything that could worsen their condition, including potassium, phosphorus, sodium, and even sugar/carb content if they are diabetic. Plus, whole wheat bread is often not recommended to CKD patients due to their relatively high potassium or phosphorus content. It’s all about moderation; consuming anything beyond your body’s needs (even seemingly healthy ones), or what's recommended for you by your healthcare expert (if you have CKD or any underlying health condition), can be bad in the long term. Hope that helps.

Yes, whole wheat bread has more fiber, vitamins, and minerals compared to other breads. For most healthy individuals, it might be a very good option. But for people with kidney issues, whole wheat products might not be the best option because they usually have higher levels of phosphorus and potassium compared to white bread, which could be problematic. For example, a regular slice of whole wheat bread contains about 68 mg of phosphorus and 80 mg of potassium. In comparison, a regular slice of white bread contains around 30-32 mg of phosphorus and potassium. You can still eat whole wheat bread, while making sure that total potassium intake per day doesn’t exceed the amount that your doctor has recommended keeping in view your condition. Refined or white bread could be problematic if you’re diabetic. So if you’re considering it, be sure to ask your doctor about it as well.

Your confusion is understandable. Let us clarify it for you in a simpler way. For normal healthy individuals, consuming whole wheat bread is the best option, because it has more fiber, vitamins, and minerals compared to other breads. But for people with kidney issues, whole wheat products might not be the best option because they usually have higher levels of phosphorus and potassium compared to white bread, which could be problematic. For example, a regular slice of whole wheat bread contains about 68 mg of phosphorus and 80 mg of potassium. You're right! Moderation is Key! With that, its important to note that people with kidney disease, especially CKD patients who need to be careful about potassium levels, might still need to limit the amount of potassium they take throughout the day. Most healthy adults need around 3400 mg of potassium for men, and 2600 mg for women. But people with CKD or other severe kidney conditons might limit to much lower than that; sometimes less than 1500mg per day. So the key is to ensure that you don't get more potassium per day than what's recommended by your healthcare expert. Thankyou for adding your valuable feedback 😍
