Took me two days to land my first!
damn as an eastern european person I'm jealous for that weather. Tshirt in december is crazy for me
I've been skating for a little over a month know, about an hour or two a day, so these videos really help to keep me motivated. Even in a month the feel on the board is so much better and my feet don't feel so useless anymore haha. I'm 42 so I'm trying to keep what I try within the bounds of what I feel I can do fairly safely. I don't mind taking a fall, I grew up riding dirtbikes and still do, but it's nice to see others taking their time progressing. There can be a lot of pressure to try tricks like the kickflip too early; I just look at it like I plan on still being skating in a year so it'll happen eventually.

Keep going, also a good motivator is to record yourself when you skate everyday. May take a while to notice but, you get a little better every day.

@@PotionSeller369 Not bad, over the winter I slowed down to only a couple hours a week but even if I take a few days off I don't feel awkward getting back on, so I've built a good amount of muscle memory up
Thanks Ricky! Im at 3months now and started recording progress from day 1, really looking forward to make a compilation of 1 year progress to hype myself and others! Please keep reviewing those, its pure motivation boost!
Fully agree on the kind of tricks this first guy was trying. I’m almost 3 years in and still haven’t really got kickflip, landed a couple rolling on film but that’s it. Yet I can shuv near everytime, ollie into a manual along a long curb, wallplant caveman, bs 180 and the fakie solid among others. I just like these low key tricks than I can incorporate really confidently into my urban riding. Can’t wait to bust out my recent progress in Barcelona this March!
Vibes are immaculate in these vids.
Both skaters progressed insanely well. I loved the hours being out in. Pure skater commitment.
Love watching these progression vids, back when I was in high school there was a kid I got into skating and he was dropping in a 10ft vert within a couple of months, dude had no fear! I still look back on it today and think if he stuck with it he woulda gone places, he ended up moving to Japan a few months after he got into it. Much love.
Love the passion and drive from the 2 kids! Can we also recognise the 2nd kid’s glasses is the unsung MVP here!
i wish i had someone to work with, these guys shred

u will some them at the skatepark i promise
Wow this progress video i feel is one of the most realistic ones ive so far i really hope new skaters can find these videos too really show them the hard work recovery and detication to get to the level of other skaters.
Im recovering from a broken collarbone and content like this has helped me scratch that itch when i cant skate
Awesome Video! I used soft trucks in the winter just to feel the pop . I did start Ollie's with placing my back wheels in a crack without really moving. I don't recommend doing this to long. You really want to move . Learning to guide the board with your front foot when pushing in my opinion is one of the hardest things.

The fact that skating is very front leg focused is understated
No bending by the knees public service announcement? This must not be the official Ricky channel.
Love these videos !
Funny vid. And Great commentary 👏👏“Switched out vans for converse… w/nike socks… Sick” 😂😂😂
i got my board on christmas and never really had time or the right weather to ride it, but i just started skateboarding last week and i can agree, ollie’s are kicking my butt 😂
ive been skating for about 8 months, i cant even ollie, i wont give up though bro

Love the inspiring videos bro
Just hit my first ollie today with 26 kinda hyped. Love to see that I might be able to get somewhere till the end of the year if I keep going.
The switching the shoe thing here in Texas was because we like the other person shoe and wanted to try it out for ourselves before we bought the pair or sometimes just traded shoes at the end of the day
Second guy was SHREDDING... his glasses.
Love these videos~!
it would be so hype to land your first kickflip ever on christmas night
THIS MOTIVATED ME SOMUCH THAT AT FIRST I COULDENT RIDE MY PENNY BOARD THIS MOTIVATED ME SO MUCH TO MANUP THAT I GOT ON MY PENNY BOARD AND STARDED TRYING AND NOW I COULD RIDE MY BOARD A LIL BETTER THX SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO ILYYY
12:50 What you call crusty is the nicest ground around for me 😂
makes me want to learn to skate, just to cruise around and ollie stuff. Short seasons, lack of suitable infrastructure dont really help, and I could work on my fitness and balance as well. I'll get to it someday
Awesome react video super inspirational
What’s up rick Mr. Leahey from streams here, there’s a talented skater named regular jason who documented his journey start to now and it’s amazing. Definitely recommend.
Been working on ollies this year mainly since I started a June and once it snows here around December (I think it will at least weather is weird now), I might have a few months of hibernation so wanted to at least get those down before then. Also feel it’s the trick that sets up so much. I wish the places in these videos were around where I am, my area it’s either the places have bad ground or are up and down a hill. Trail in my area is good though been able to cruise with ease on it.
First homie could be like me and sprains their ankles on the regular with out with out the board.
I’m starting to learn how to push and ride my board might take it on my vacation this summer to keep practicing
love you ricky
I had the same reaction on that first drop in😂
ive just started to learn, and its a shame because england is horrible for street skatong since roads and pavement is really bad, holes everywhere. luckily i leave about 15 mins away from a skatepark
Great video
13:55 Because it's hard to learn basics, but once you have them, the next level is putting them together. It's easier to put things you know together than to learn something new
first dude constantly spraining his ankle and the next dude constantly obliterating his glasses lol
Homies hair went from straight to curly within the year as well. just proves that skating can change your hair style lol.
9:50 Haha that's so sick
Yeah my year progress isn’t even close to this dudes but he is like 30 years younger than me! I am still working on my rolling Ollie
The Legendary Ricky Glaser. 🍀♾️❤️🔥
Hey Ricky I am finally getting Ollie's and now getting them over cracks
Solid prooogresssion.
Watch Ryan goated he made a good learning to skate series, and is very underrated
I've skated for probably 8 months and only started getting my ollies somewhat proper around two months ago, I now don't know what to learn because I can't commit to any other tricks and get too scared. Loved the vid btw

Nose stalls. Manuels. Slappies. Axel stalls. Pumping. Reverts.... there are heaps
I was more focused on bonlessing into a suski stall than kickflipping for like a year
I started learning to Skate but i don't know where i should start or what i should learn first...
literally got my skateboard yesterday and tried to drop in didnt go to well but i could barley get on the board before today. ate sh!t tbh but it was funny asf
Wow if this is realistic then I suck I’ve been skating for almost 2 years and I can only Ollie and I just learned Ollie off a curb these progression videos are so demoralizing
do you have the link to original video used?
Hey Rick I’m almost done making a skate progression video I’ll be done with it in about a month I was wondering if you could wach it or something when I finish
at the start he had skinny jeans, started using "baggy" jeans and progressed :D
Not sure what's so realistic about the second one lmaoo
Yessir Beaverton Or. 🤙🏽🤙🏽
I somehow destroyed the right of a black pair of converse and the left from a red pair of converse. Ended up being my only Skateable pair of shoes. Now I only buy a black and a red pair at a time and swap em straight away cos I like the style 😂😂
im 4 months in and i can ollie, shuv it, fs 180, and so close to kickflips
man i have alot of questions but ive been skating for about 3 years but started to learn tricks last summer (still working on my ollie's but not so far off really good ones) but how do we stop that little voice in your head from saying "you gonna bust your ass" or how do we remove most of that fear and just send it? I wanna here your thoughts!!
Wish I had someone to skate with, doesn’t help I have no nearby skatepark and my roads are extremely rough
I need someone to hold my hand so I can start my skate journey:)
He does any trick “that was powerful”
I’ve tried landing my ollies so much and I can land it, it’s so frustrating
im 3 years into skating and still can't ollie to manual 💀
These guys are very satisfying to watch. Great stuff by them. Good to see them doing it for the right reason too (not like those "influencers" or whatever they are) 😂
Subbed
its fine my learning process was all messed up learnt to ollie, heelflip, kickflip,BS flip and varial flip and i still couldnt plain BS 180
i hate skating in the winter mfs are so lucky to NOT have like a lot of snow and ice
It took me 2 years to learn kickflips, and ive been skating for 4 years now

congrats , well deserved 🤜🤛
i literally have nowhere to practice skating cuz all i live on is a steep hill with huge cracks in the ground
Why have I been practicing for a year now and can’t even Ollie like I barley can sometimes I land one most times I dont and just scream and throw my board until it look’s mangled
It is incredible how fast the second guy learned the tricks, but they all look not so good expect is bs pop shuvs and tre flips
This makes me feel bad abt how slow my progression is surely there are other people that progress slowly like me
@charmaine1360
5 ай бұрын
I’m also very slow… I’ve had about 7 months of consistent practice now but I can only do what this guy does in like month 2.
Tre flip. I can’t figure it out I have watched so many vids on KZread but nothin. I got the scoop just can’t land it . Maybe some kind words from Ricky would help me land my first tre
what’s the song at the start? 0:01
I have the same board of the last dude
Ive been skating for a year and i can barely kickturn
I LIKE SKATE
Yep...this isssssss real
i learned a 3 stair in 2 weeks
I skated for 4 months may,
bruh how people learn so fast ive been skating for 6 years and im 13 cant kickflip cant shuv can ollie and can 180 and 5050 can board slide can do lot of big air on transion like air over jump box and 180 air out of quarter pipes im so bad for that long

Bro I saw this guy at my local skatepark and I talked to him and he didn’t tell me about his yt channel
Am i the only one who never gets sprained ankles?
Filming everything kind of ruins all the magic of learning failing and succeeding

I would say it actually helps you progress faster, you get to see and analyse what you're doing wrong more. Especially when you don't have much feedback from others.
