Your claim on oats flies in the face of some huge names in the field (eg Essylstyn). And you give no evidence to support your claim? This is dangerous. And so I now wonder if you are out to grab clicks over serious advice?

Thanks for sharing that concern. Esselstyn & other low-fat doctors have saved lots of lives. I used to be a low-fat, plant-based doc. But it sounds like you haven’t seen the whole story on hidden insulin resistance. This video is about one of Dr Esselstyn’s patients. He had a heart attack after losing weight as a private Esselstyn patient. kzread.info/dash/bejne/p5md16iCeLjAYNI.htmlsi=RlJgwY7oKHF7RdOO I’ve got > 1,000 videos showing the evidence that supports my “claim”. This is not a “claim”. Prediabetes/diabetes is killing & disabling more humans than any other force in our world.

So apparently it's cereal and orange juice. One thing to remember about the cereal and orange juice we consume today compared to what our grandparents and great grandparents ate back in the day. Back then cereals didn't contain high fructose corn syrup and preservatives, and orange juice back then was squeezed by hand. Also, the grains used to make our wheat and corn flours is treated with glyphosate (Roundup) which destroys the gut biome. In addition, the orange juice sold in supermarkets has been seriously adulterated, often squeezed and juiced at the factory and placed into huge vats that are vacuum sealed, thus degrading nearly all the nutritional value from the juice. When it is processed and packaged into containers they add sugar, orange essential oil, and ascorbic acid (vitamin C) to the juice to make it drinkable again. So the breakfast is already highly processed, and it's the consumption of this adulterated food that causes inflammation in the body and causes cuts in the arteries that scar up.

Great grandparents would not know what a cereal was let alone eat it, as for fresh orange juice well sugar is sugar no matter where it comes from. Big business could not care less for you and farmers ARE BIG BUSINESS I'm afraid so are fruit growers. The biggest industry by far is the big pharma which makes all of it's money out of our stupid diet.

The Doctor hit is out of the park! I have been waiting for a video like this one to come out for months from here or one of the other YT channels I watch. This was a concise and complete overview of this problem caused by the diet. Not too much scientific details (which I normally love, demand and read) but enough for understanding and in common language for the General Public. It is very understandable by all. Now we need Dr Vega to make a Spanish version to help spread the word to a larger audience.

Great video, even though I disagree with parts of it. I believe obesity drives insulin resistance and not carbohydrates consumption. Eating unprocessed fiber-rich carbohydrates in normal quantities should keep blood glucose below 140 mg/dl and can be a part of a healthy diet. The main causes of obesity are processed foods and seed oils. Carbohydrates consumption did not increase so much in population level, but the seed oils, fried foods, and processed foods were increasing dramatically.

I have no heart problems and a 0 CAC score. 5 years ago I was eating my bowl of Oatmeal every morning. I weight over 200 pounds more and had and A1C in the 14's on 300+ units of insulin a day. Now I am not diabetic anymore.

I am not sure if eating cooked Millet and or Quinoa would be a bad cereal, I use it with fresh blueberries, ground flax ground almonds, ground pumpkin seeds, ground sunflower seeds, ground sesame seeds, will a teaspoon of Physillum Husk AKA Meta mucilcal, along I use only a small amount of half and half cream, topped off with a small amount of walnuts. I will have this 3 times a week. On other days I will have eggs, and or serveral eggs mixed with high protein pancake mix and fry that up with a little olive oil. Top off with a little butter and just a small amount of pure maple syrup. Well you can eat anything for breakfast including dinner foods or just a nice sandwich on White bread, I avoid whole wheat as gives to much sugar when digested.

Eat an Apple rather than Apple Juice, it is similar to Oranges vs OJ. I do still drink 4oz of OJ or Apple Juice with lots of ice and only once a day, but "not" for breakfast and only after eating other meals with lots of fiber, protein and fat. I used to drink 16oz of Apple or OJ along and a 12oz can of coke or two every day. All sodas are now gone for good.
