I bought my first rub brick yesterday! This is perfect tutorial :)
Great vid Zack.. keep the Copers in mind bro 🙏

You're crushing it!!
I remember when this video came out and I saw the title in the notification, I knew you were going to talk about the rub brick! The sea rat board looks awesome with the art that was put on it, wasnt sure if you were going to run it raw wood or not in the past video.
im always amazed how well it works
The new board and wheels are sooo sick
I’ve been to both of those diys 🔥
You inspired me to rub brick this new ledge behind the taco bell on el cajon. Right by were it meets park. It's this sick up ledge. You should check out. Anyways, love the vids!!
Can't wait to get the Skateboard Academy UK Skate van running, so many tools to have in the van including a brick rub. Check out our channel for regular vlogs/tutorials. Love your stuff, Zack ♥
I'm glad you brought up about wearing a mask but unless it's a N95 it's not protecting you at all from the cilica dust hazards.
Richmond Street skate spot is always being torn down 🤬. Last time i shredded there it had a 1/4 pipe on wheels. Good vid bruv!
What grit do you use? I'm guessing a super chunky one will do fine for skate spots.
Home depot, Lowe's or harbor freight has em!!!! Rub brick sweep clear lacquer wax
Used one last night 😅 then laquered the ledge down gonna sesh it tonight 💪🏽👷♂️

Most def most def 🤔🤔
hey man i was wondering, if you dont have a rub brick do you think you could use some ruff sandpaper to smoothen up the curb
hey zack what camera do you use to film your videos with?
you can even purchase these at zumiez (with some sweet wknd branding) now a days, no excuses not to be able to own one. Even tho its way cheaper elsewhere.
It looks like you're in the SD area. I grew up in SD and recently moved to Oceanside/Vista area and have been searching for a good spot to install a couple things. Just wondering if you may know of a good spot in the area or one that people may already been working on. Thanks!
When you introduced yourself at the start the closed caption processed your name as "Zach daddy". natural language processing algorithm ftw
Rub brick = 🔑
Any alternatives? Seems you can only get these from expensive import sites in my country

You can always use a standard brick, it's not as "gritty"
How often should u buy a new one cuz mine broke the first day
@Chudchanning
2 жыл бұрын
Mine was fragmenting and wearing down pretty fast, but ideally a fresh good one can be used until there's no brick left on the handle
I wish I had places to build skate spots but my town doesn’t have anywhere
I’ve been skating this curb at an abandoned bank recently, it was already really smooth already so I just lacquered and waxed it up, it was great for a few sessions but now it’s starting to get chunky really fast, I think it’s because it is a super squared off curb with a sharp 90 degree angle, would using a rub brick to blunt that angle help the chipping factor? Hope that makes sense, or is it kinda pointless since it’s already waxed up? There are other curbs at the bank I could try it on.

I would try it on the dry curbs first, you can go over wax but that'll take some time to file off.

@@ZackDowdy hey thanks for the reply!
Just got a rub brick 10 mins before I saw this vid ahaha
is a 20 grit or 60 grit rub brick better?
@Chudchanning
2 жыл бұрын
The lower the number, the rougher the grit and finished job will be. a 60 would make a smoother surface than a 20 . Wasn't aware they had different bricks for concrete, but that's kinda cool. You could get both and use the 20 to knock any texture off then use the 60 to polish it up if you wanted
RESPECT the brick, TAME the curb!
Yo Gang! What's up. In a video I saw someone smearing some stuff on a spot that they wanted to skate. They just smeared it on there to make that small area kinda flat. It looked like buttery soft knead. I don't know. I assume this stuff gets hard after a while. Does anyone know what the pros use?
Im bout to upgrade my rub brick for a rechargeable angle grinder with a grit disc! Cut tha time by allot i think!

Nice!! I have a angle grinder but it's corded, those cordless rechargeables are not cheap! Totally worth it though.

I recently tried rubbricking a spot. Out here they put a lot of hard aggregate in the concrete, which was already popping up in the crust. The rubbrick pulverized instantly and didnt make a scratch on the hard rocks. Next day i brought a angle grinder with diamant disk. Those blades last a very long time. But keep in mind it is a lot less discrete.
