$1 Terrain made from a Watergun - Single Item Challenge!
Ойындар
It's me, Scratch "just learned about oil paint" Bashing.
Here is an interesting build of a wrecked hover vehicle using a single toy I found at the dollar store. The goal here was to make a scatter terrain piece for Warhammer 40k or some other sci-fi table top wargame using only a single item.
If you are a hobbyist/crafter I welcome you to try your hand at a single item build like this. Let's see what you can come up with!
If you enjoyed the video please leave me a comment and subscribe! What should I build next?

Looks like some retrofuturistic soviet military vehicle.
I know thats supposed to be like a space vehicle, but this aesthetic screams Fallout. Great work!

For me the screamed fallout 3. Reminded me of something like an old pump station or generator housing!

That's probably why I instantly subscribed to Scratch. I grew up off watching Bob Ross.
And this is essentially the way a lot of the most iconic vehicles and ships where put together in sci-fi history. Love seeing what can be made from everyday items or through kit bashing
You did miles better than people who have challenged themselves to build watergun terrains.
Cheap paints, £1 piece of crap water pistol, cheap brushes, a few cotton buds, a few rocks and half a stick of used pastel and hey presto.... Builds a piece of terrain so fantastic with an awesome paint job and realistic weathering features you would think it was custom built with a £100 budget, the most expensive paints and weathering supplies and a custom moulded resin cast figure. This is when talent exceeds the limits of finance.

I never would have thought you could find awesome terrain material at the "oh crap it's my nephew's birthday!" section of your local CVS. This is absolutely brilliant!!!
This build is great because it really looks foreign enough that you can call it different things based on the narrative. Destroyed vehicle? Check. Machinery? Check. Junkyard junk? Check. Neat AND cost effective.
That was a Masterclass in bits bashing, the special effects industry people will love what you do! Bloody brilliant.
Really like the look of this. That little red decal, teal color scheme and rounded edges makes it look like some Soviet vehicle. Real cool model.

I used to play around on old wartime bomb shelters in my hometown as a kid...
I started out with minis playing Necromunda, where our terrain was 99.9% bits and pieces of broken junk, and later, as an Ork player, kept that going. This is the stuff I got into the hobby for. That creativity and inspiration to make something amazing out of nothing. Great channel!

This is some truly impressive weathering and rust work... Just gorgeous. And that stencil not working.. super relatable. It turned out probably even better looking anyway. Fantastic job.
I love how this vehicle looks. Gives me strong fallout and destiny vibes.

Yeah same, I felt like it looked like a military tank from fallout.
Wow, that is some serious scratch-bashing!! I love the end result, all of those differing layers of paint, oils, and pastels really add up to a damn near realistic piece of scenery. The wonderful thing about this is that it could many different things depending on the situation. A dilapidated industrial equipment (or building), a crashed spaceship, an alien fortress...the possibilities are endless. Most impressive job good sir. Great stuff, thanks for sharing, and keep on keeping on!!
I feel like I need a tetanus shot just looking at it! Well done!
My mom actually did this challenge to her middle school art students when she told them to make an artwork out of trash they found at home, they came up with really creative ideas such as spaceships and cars using the most insanely original items they could find in their trashcans lol
I’d love to see a large terrain piece made by this guy that includes official gw stuff, maybe like an imperial fortress, great vid btw
When you were dissatisfied with the end result of the 03it was actually quite well done.
At least ten times I thought, "wow, what a great finished model...oh wait hes not done." I would have been satisfied very early on. Great job and commitment.

This is straight out of the Gerry Anderson play book when watching his puppet scifi shows it's amazing to see what the modellers built from various common bits and pieces
Love the simplicity of the build but it becomes something awesome

I really wish I had your ability to “see” these things in everyday objects. Amazing.
This is great , could easily be a crashed ship from Star Wars to some machinery from a factory in a ww2 bombed city. Will have to try this for sure
Modeling and painting is spot on! 10/10. Reminds me of art of Simon stålhage "tales from the loop"

I have been experimenting with fingernail polish to remove fresh painting mistakes. Using it like a paint with a brush but I wouldn't load the brush with the thinner nor would I allow it to sit on the paint long. Might be something you could use for weathering maybe. A friend saw this build on Facebook and showed me a picture. Then a youtuber said you had a KZread channel.

Wonderful work. The paint job is amazing!
Just watching this just reminded me of models that ive bought from a few people that were in total distress and needed repairs just from 1 look at the model. But that never stopped me because i took the challenge with what i had and what i just bought to make the repairs work
The coloring of the minty green and white makes me think of the fallout universe, like a tank or maybe a beached submarine!
That is looking like abandoned tau floating tank. This is realy good job, i can see a highly-trained professional!
You should add a timelapse at the end of each video from start to finish. That would be deadly! Nice work bud!

I absolutely love how this turned out, especially considering all the work that went into just a cheap toy. I think I’m struggling a little bit to get a good sense of the scale, whether this was some huge ship or maybe just a smaller craft, but the signs make me think larger

To help dull down the sheen and make the paint stick better, I like to sand down the water guns with steel wool or a quick wipe down of acetone.
